    Good Points: Friendly staff


    Bad Points: Cold rooms


    General comments: I was in Latvia on business, but decided to stay in Riga for the weekend before traveling back on the Monday, and it turned out to be the Jazz festival weekend. The hotel "Maritim Parkhotel" is quite nice, with very friendly staff, but the rooms were cold, which is not surprising considering the temperature outside was -28C. It was too cold to walk about, so I was lucky the taxis are very cheep, e.g. taxi from airport to central Riga = six Euros. The beer was also very cheap. Clubs the same. A lot of stag/hen parties.

    All in all, a very nice weekend. The Latvians are very pleasant and easy going people. I will stay over again on my next visit.
