It scans, faxes, it prints it copys after a while. Good once its working, but then (well for me) it breaks...
I hope theres a lot better out there on the market for the money. I Don't recommend Lexmark printers.

I have had no trouble with my Lexmark X73 Multifunction printer until just recently. I agree, the ink cartridges are very expensive, but I have only had to buy them once.

My pictures that I have printed have always turned out great. I never have smudges or anything like that.

The only problem I am having, is my printer recently had a paper jam, and I did what it said to do in the book to fix it, but it continues to jam up. What do I do?

I print a lot of work on mine, and so far the ...

Like the rest of the Lemark range the Lexmark X73 follows suit in disfunction. How Lexmark are in existence today is truly baffling. The scanner doesn't scan - it'll make you deaf after several attempts to get it working, the printer cannot print and the software drivers do not reslove any conflicts. What's more is the annoying American voice that tells you when a 'job is done'. Take a look at this (me placing the A4 sheet of digital nonsense to the computer monitor). Do you call this finished?

I have used my Lexmark X73 for over a year. I agree that the cartridges are expensive. Printing of photos has worked out ok for me and I love the fact that one can specify "print in black or color". That saves my colors for "good stuff". I have had to play with settings to make copies. My one big complaint is finding out how to print the web page reference along with a web page. It has me baffled and I just wrote to Lexmark for help. Anyone here have any information?

The Lexmark X73 is my worst-ever purchase of an electronic item. Ever since I bought it, problems with the usb connection and complaints that the printer can't be enabled. I did probably more than 50 install and uninstalls. Then download new XP driver and clean software from tech site. Nothing helps.

Ever since i got this Lexmark X73 printer, I've had problems printing and copying.
The tech support site is of no help.
I will junk it and get an HP.

Specifically relating to installation problems: I've had my Lexmark X73 working fine for a couple of months on a relativly new machine (Win 2000) but moving it onto an old PC (also Win 2000) resulted in the grief which everyone else seems to be suffering from. Dead as a Dodo.

But I have managed a work around solution. Read on.

Don't follow the lexmark installation instructions which say unplug the printer beforehand, but uninstall all your previous efforts, reboot your PC and just plug t ...

Thought I had myself a great product, however, while installing my Lexmark X73, a box appears onscreen telling me to connect the "USB" to the printer (which I did) then to click "ok". After doing so, the little box will not go away as if I did not complete the step of connecting the USB to the printer. What am I doing wrong? I need help. Please.... Thanks, angie

I've had to reinstall drivers any time I've changed cartridges, unplugged USB port...and get this...every time I turn the computer off. It has been nothing but trouble, and it doesn't even photocopy or scan properly only a year after it was bought. Everything goes into the printer queue and you cannot get it to print, to pause, or even to delete the queue'd items. I wish I had read this site before buying it! One troubleshooting guide recently said "troubleshooting for Lexmark X73: unplug X73, t ...

I could have bought this Lexmark X73 Inkjet printer many times over for the cost of the cartridges, which are expensive and I haven't managed to find compatables. The scan and print quality are only good enough for rough documents, not presentation work. I have had the printer for two years and it has now decided not to print, and tells me it needs a service. I have used the printer daily for images as well as text and so it has not been a good buy for me. I would only suggest this printer to so ...

Lexmark X73 - The all-in-one sounds good in theory and in the product description. The product does not perform well and any change such as installing new cartridges can cause the printer to go into pause, the cartridge carrier will stall and knock hard as it moves. The knock will unsnap the ink cartridges from the printer.

This is an economical product and you get cheap performance. In the long run, the upkeep, the down time frustrations, and cartridge costs makes this an expensive machine t ...

The Lexmark X73 Inkjet Printer is my worst purchase ever in 13 years in the DTP business.
Scanner is a joke, Printing quality is questionable, Copying is ubeliavably slow. Don't even think about actually faxing...
I will simply never buy Lexmark again.

I agree with every thing that has been said about the Lexmark X73 so far. I thought I was going crazy re-installing the drivers every time I disconnected the USB cable from my lap top. Further, the ink consuption is atrocious. The cartridges are teeny tiny and cost $30.00 plus each. I am getting rid of mine before I have to spend 2/3 of the cost of the printer in new ink cartridges.

The Lexmark X73 is one of those 3-in-1 printers that you see in the store and think. WOW! Three in One, what a great buy I can scan pictures, and copy, and print them, Wow! Well if you see the Lexmark X73, just start screaming in pain or tell the manager of the store they have junk, cause they do. The Lexmark X73 is a pain in the butt from the get-go, once you install it, dont mess with the USB cord, I think I have had to reinstall the drivers for this printer going on about 65 times, no exagera ...

USB communication is horrible - stops communicating after about 2-3 separate printing runs. Could be a Via motherboard USB issue? Looking into it.

The by far WORST part of this POS is that the black ink smudges, even months after the print. Now I have to print all of my docs in a dark color other than black.
What's up Lexmark? Why didn't you give us good ink or at least heat that ink up properly???
