I have no use of the left side of my body, hence I'm in a wheelchair. Unfortunately my husband, who isn't at all well, has to care for me. Iceland stand out as the only supermarket we use whose lazy staff shove goods down the checkout at high speed and sit yawning(in one instance) waiting for him to open bags and pack and pay. This has happened at two of their stores which are nearest to us. Complaints to the managers in store and customer service on-line, produced no improvement at all.... (read more)

Most other food retail companies do local home delivery free and you don't have to spend £25 in the store first either to get this! Why can't you just spend £25 on line at Iceland why do you have to go to their store? What on earth is so different about Iceland that it has to make things difficult for customers? Icelands days may be numbered as more and more people go to Sainsbury and other online stores that do a free home delivery by just ordering on line. You don't have to go in the... (read more)

I dont know of ANY other online food shopping companies that offer free delivery. Sainsbury's certainly dont! Quoted from their website "For online grocery deliveries, there's a £25 minimum basket spend and you'll be charged a delivery fee of between £2.95 and £5.95 for orders over £40. Orders under £40 will be charged a delivery fee of £6.95" And you CAN order online at Iceland. Not in all areas yet, but you can.
If you dislike iceland so much why are you telling people to 'buy buy'? Or did you mean 'bye bye'? I dont think they need to worry with reviews like this lol

the reason why it appears that iceland managers get very little complaint is not because there isnt much to complain about but because your complaint is not logged but quashed and kept away from the managers and bosses at head office! Shameful! (read more)

I spent £200.00 at iceland and my delivery was meant to be between 12pm and 2pm then at 3pm i called to see where my delivery was and they said they had been and no-one answerd which is wrong as i went out my way to stay in between that time. So in the end i had to drive down there and collect my shopping in the car!! i called customer service and all i got was a £5 voucher off my next shop. I wont be shopping there for a while. Whether or not the store were following the "law of the company" to the letter, I do feel that it is unfair to make them as 1 star for everything... afterall, if you are marking them 1 star for value, and for shop layout and for service, why have you shopped with them for "as long as you can remember?" Unrealistic reviews which are just done "out of spite" do somewhat annoy me.

Iceland is not as cheap as it seems. Some things I can get from Marks and Spencer at way better prices and at better quality. Iceland is not the most ethical shop in the world either. I got some chicken and garlic breast from Iceland and it wasn't very nice as the mixture wasn't too appetizing... also the film on top of the microwave meals doesn't rip off properly so you have to get a pair of scissors through it....

I will no longer shop at Iceland because of its sponsorship of such a barbaric show as I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here, a show that illustrates how so called celebrities will do absolutely anything for fame and money, where animals sexual organs,(better on the animal,) are eaten for fun, where insects are obviously either injured or killed as a piece of entertainment. I recently shopped in the Iceland at Levenshulme - which I understand is a recently rebranded cooltrader store. Staff were very helpful and cheerful, most of the products they have on offer are at great low prices. For example chicago town twin pizza packs are just £1 and they have all the different types, unlike the tescos just round the corner where they are £1.50. Although I woiuld not recommend buying all of your weekly groceries from Iceland, it is fantastic for subsidising your shopping. There are some amazing deals such as £3 for 8pk of Lucozade or 6pk Lucozade Sport - £1 for 4pts of Milk (the cheapest I can find from any retailer). Frozen vegetables, pizzas, potato products and desserts are particularly good value for money, and a high standard of quality. However, lots of groceries are over priced (tomato puree is £1. Iceland have started rounding up all their prices to the nearest pound. The problem is most supermarkets offer better value. I bought a tray of 4 pork chops for £3; as I was in a hurry I took anything on offer. Lamb Chops were £6, which seems a bit steep.
The good points about Iceland are the lack of people waiting at the tills. It is a quick in and out type of place. Fridges and Freezers are on sale in some branches, but not the one I used.

I received all round bad service from Iceland. I paid for the removal of an old fridge and when the men came to deliver my fridge they refused to take the old one, as they said 'it didn't show up on their paperwork', they wouldn't even ring the company to sort out the mix up. The fridge I purchased never worked properly either.

We were badly let down by Iceland's appointed logistics team, who appear to be a fellow group company who were tasked with delivering our new fridge.
The first scheduled delivery date the driver apparently couldn't find our address but never rang for directions or bothered using the details we passed onto Iceland (the worrying thing is, it isn't hard to find!). Instead we received a call at 8.50am on the day of delivery to inform us in no uncertain terms they would not deliver that day...

I suppose it depends on which Iceland store you happen to buy from. I have 2 local stores, 1 is tiny, dirty, has narrow isles, staff are always talking in the back area or on the shop floor, they never seem interested to help, half full or empty freezers... overall bad service (I only shop here when I HAVE to).
On the other hand... the other store is the complete opposite, it is a good size, has its own car-park, wide aisles, freezers are always well-stocked, clean, tidy, staff cannot do...

I'm sorry, but having been employed by Iceland in the past as a Customer Service Supervisor/ Duty Manager, I know only too well how these stores are run. My initial review was totally unbiased, from the view of a customer, and as a customer I find it totally unacceptable for staff NOT to take an interest in the overall image they are giving to customers. When I was Duty Manager I used to be very aware of the fact that "chatting" on the shop floor or in the back areas was not giving the right impression and always found the staff something to do. I do not believe that there is nothing to do if you haven't got the stock to put out, there’s always date checking and /or facing up, not to mention cleaning!
