i bought a pw80 at a yard sale for 15$ it has no plastics, fuel tank or back tier tube. the card was full of sand. it was a compleat mess. but after about 6-10 hrs of work it is alive. im waiting for the back tube to come in. this thing was abused hardcore its whole life, but after i cleaned it up and cleaned and fixed the carb it runs great. that just goes to show how well these things are built. The Yamaha PW80 is easy to ride, simple rev and go no clutch. It's not as fast as id like but with a smaller person it would be a flyer. A good bike especially for a learner rider. (read more)

Written on: 24/09/2006 by robmark (1 review written)

This Yamaha PW80 bike was bought by my dad around 1986 and has gone through me, my sister and brother, but was damaged after hitting a rock at 45mph and smashed the crank case and knocked cooling fins off the head. I have recently found the bike at the rear of my dad's shed in this state and after finding some bits on that action site, I now have it working as it did before. My kids, 5 and 9, both have learned to ride it, as well, and love it to bits. This bike will go on forever. I would... (read more)

I had a race with a mate, he was on a Lem 50 standard and you would expect the Yamaha PW80 to beat the 50 with the gears and they blow up on us. So the reliability is terrible I recommend this to noone. (read more)

You must of treated it horrible or it was a knockoff. I have a pw 80 its gone through my cousins well it blew up after them but their very ruff on it he jumped 10 feet into a creek didnt even hurt the bike atall. After that we got it rebuilt and its lasted us forever not a problem at all. Its been over 10 years since than. VERY HARD ON IT>

The Yamaha PW80 bike is a childs bike. Aged 6-12.
It can be used for on road or offroad riding.
after a while the bike becomes harder and harder to start each time you use it. The front brake starts to slowly stop working as well as when I first bought it but can be fixed qute easily (read more)
