Beware of emails stating you cd's renewal rate. Was promissed 2.25 but only got 1.9%. The email said "you will get 2.25%". Called and they said the rate had dropped since the email, they new that the cd would not renew until 2 weeks later.

Just ralised, after checkimg account online, £500 transfered from Kaupthing Edge account when ING took them over, has vanished from the account.

Wrote them a letter on the 13 October 09 to enquire, no response, wrote again on 26 October, delivered by recorded signed for delivery, they received it today, and emailed them yesterday requesting urgent response. Still waiting for a response.

Some of this cash is urgently required, who knows whether I'll ever see this money again.

    What a bank ...

Extremely shoddy treatment of customers. In correspondence they never answer in full, deliberately miss the point and procrastinate.

Currently in correspondence with Financial Ombudsman regarding short payment of interest. ING admit they did short pay but are trying to weasel out of making full recompense. If necessary I will have them in court and make them pay.

Ing seem to have a policy of denial and that customers will give up the complaint if it rambles on long enough. My advice, get the F ...

Slow, old-fashioned and convoluted application process. An internet-only bank relying on postal service in order to set up an account?? 5 days after helping themselves to money from my linked account, the ING account had still not been set up. They decided after the fact that they needed more information in order to set the account up, which however did not stop them taking my money. Now have to wait several more days for them to call me back so I can get my money back. AVOID!!!

Slow convoluted postal-based application process is unacceptable for an alleged internet-only/direct bank. Proof of address/ID was not requested at time of lodging application, but then they decided several weeks later (accoutn still not set up) that they needed this proof, which apparently was requested via the post, never arrived (strike!), which didn't stop ING helping themselves to the money from my linked account sent to them via cheque as initial deposit. Now unable to get this money back ...

My wife is not a tax-payer so we have always place substantial deposits in her name in fixed rate bonds and instant access. Because the instant access interest had fallen to a ridiculous 0.5% we decided to close it. Phoned the help line, enter customer number followed by hash, then enter certain PIN numbers followed by hash. Eventually speak to customer service. My wife gave her full name and address. Stated that our linked joint account was LloydsTsb. Was then asked for sort code and bank numbe ...

Froze out ING Direct Internet Banking account we have had for 9 years because we moved 3 years ago and they had not updated my husbands details. At present cannot still get our money as they want a bank statement to prove my husband lived at the old address !!!! and proof he lives at the new one - even though they have written to him at it. We don't have the proof !!

No customer liasion - froze our account without notice although we had been using ING Direct Internet Banking for 4 years with substantial funds lodged with them. Unable to speak to someone in authority just some jobsworth in a call centre - We are pensioners who have always treated people with respect and would like to be treated the same. We have had to take out a bank loan to cover a purchase as we are being denied access to our savings. We have contacted the Banking Ombudsman and lodged ...

ING Direct Internet Banking. Easy to set up. Rate of interest not bad, considering some of their competitors are in freefall.
It should be made absolutely clear that quoted interest rates are variable, and that there are occasions when you have no alternative but to use a phone, which due to near-deafness I find extremely difficult. I can't find an e-mail address for them anywhere.

ING totally let me down - as tiring as it was finding someone to talk to once we had both gone through the extremely complicated password protection questions on the phone for both of us (don ' t get me wrong I am a great believer in security but this was tiring and we had paper with different bits all over the house that they kept sending us with different codes). I digress, after all that rigmarole our account was then accessed and we requested an on line transfer of our savings to be transfer ...

ING direct are great provided you are happy to watch the interest rate on your savings drop from top to bottom of savings interest rate tables.

I have been with ING Direct since 2003 when they were offering 2.3% for savings and we were getting .75% from B of A. They kept their word. Interest rates went up as the economy did and then started dropping as the economy went into the trash. Remember, when Bush took office, gas was $1.46 per gallon. Their interest on savings, checking and CDs has been consistently higher than other banks unless you had some huge amount on deposit. They have no minimum amount for their rates. Their main claim t ...

It's simple, super easy to use, safe. It's great for saving and still having easy access if needed. Setting up CD's is also a breeze. What's not to like?

I've had HSBC and WAMU. They do not compare to ING. If you want to watch your money mysteriously vanish from your account then I would suggest WAMU. It will make for great reviews.

I am traveling, and the idea of having my bank account online was quite convenient. However, after signing up with ING USA in Summer 2007, with the understanding that there's no ATM fee for withdrawal, I was in for a shock just yesterday (22nd July 2008). I was charged 2% for every transaction withdrawn from an ATM (traveling in Thailand at the moment), with my fee being about 19 USD for taking out my own money from an ATM. A call to customer service and to someone claiming that they're a manage ...

I setup an automatic transfer from my current business account (TD Bank) to ING ...I chose 'DAILY' and figured I would transfer money to a checking account in order for ING to process.... here's the problem; ING failed to mention that they are the ONLY insitution (I can think of) that actually count weekends as a'business day'' ...therefore my amounts transferred were coming up short by 2-days, right from the start, and to make matters worse, my bank advised me of multiple attempts by ING...putt ...

I had set up an ING Savings account back in 2005. Then I decided to set up a checking account with them in 2007. Things seemed to be going well until yesterday. I have my paycheck direct deposited into the ING checking, and yesterday, when I logged into the website to check my payroll amount and pay some online bills I found out that my account had been suddenly closed.
I called THREE times yesterday to figure out why the account was closed and where my paycheck was and when I can expect to fina ...

I checked my interest today, and found that their rate has reduced yet again from the beginning of May. There is of course a good rate for new customers, but wish loyal customers like me could get the same. As I have a good deal invested I am moving it.

ING advertises that there's no problem with overdraft fees. I had a problem with an account where I had set up an automatic payment using my debit card from the ING account. The vendor repeatedly charged my card on days I had not authorized. Because there wasn't funds in the account (which is why I didn't authorize them to charge me then). ING decided to close my account because I had too many attempted charges without sufficient funds....all from this one merchant who was debiting me withou ...
