I booked this hotel for 6 of us for july for two weeks.Arrived 2am in the morning and saw people putting out their towels on sunbeds. Some were even saving as many as 12 beds at one time. In the two weeks we were there only got to sit around the pool twice and that was because we set our clocks to get up at 4.30am to save our beds.On one of the occasions two of our towels were stolen. Some of the saved beds were not used untill 3pm that afternoon. There is a sign saying towels will be removed... (read more)

Don't be fooled by the hotel, looked beautiful and thats were it stopped!! We stayed here for a week in October, the room was clean but the staff, food and everything else was Terrible, on one occasion we were having our evening meal in the conservatory when it started to rain and the next thing we had to run for cover as the roof was leaking everyone grabbed their plates and ran. No entertain , a couple were mugged whilst walking to the hotel and the following morning the mugger entered... (read more)

Victoria Palace & Spa was horrible! Old uneatable food, a non-working draining system (it stinks like poo everywhere), 100 sunbeds for >1200 guests, the hotel is FALLING APART. Rude staff.
Look at the following blogg for photos and information:
Swedish agency Apollo who sold the trip don't think its nothing wrong with the hotel: APOLLO IS A IRRESPONSIBLE TRAVEL COMPANY!

Dont dont dont go to this hotel 5 star, i wouldnt give it a 2 star. Not only did you have to lay your own table in the restaurant; you got chipped cups; you were lucky if you got any food. The beds were terrible, bedding didnt fit and im sure i got bitten on legs from bed. I spent last three nights on sofa with my beach towels for covers. The service throughout the hotel was terrible (there was none). It was that bad we flew home a week early because we could not stand it any longer. I... (read more)

Before going to Victoria Palace in Bulgaria read some reviews and thought it was just people being picky but once we had been in the restaurant could see where people were coming from. No cups or cutlery and if you asked the staff for anything at all it seemed too much trouble. I have never heard so many people moan about a hotel, wont be going back. (read more)

The hotel is stunning from the outside and is very grand inside with the massive chandelier and suchlike. Food was awful, staff unfriendly and very unhelpful, very few of them actually acknowledge you or even smile - ok I know they're busy, but it costs nothing to smile! - we don't all love our jobs! Would definitely not recommend and definitely not going back (read more)

We went for two weeks 8 July 2008 and from start to finish where treated like dirt the food was a disgrace. When we complained to the management they where very rude and didn't want to know, the food was cold the hot plates where cold and when we complained where told there was a microwave which didn't work, never got a sun bed for over a week and when we sat on the seats at the pool we where ask to move by the management because to sit on them you had to by drink, after paying 1600 and... I have just spent 2 weeks at the Victoria palace and for a 4 star hotel it is diabolical. The staff are rude. The food was 8/10 times cold tables dirty not set up properly they didn't even give you time to finish before they wanted your plates. Horrible and not cheap at all they tried to charge us 7.00 for a bottle of Magners would not go back. (read more)

Everything was perfect. I have stayed in Bulgaria before. This hotel Victoria Palace is the best by far! I felt so safe at this hotel it was brilliant. I stayed here in 2005 with my partner and my son I think this hotel is by far the best i have been too ok the food was not great but it is so cheap to eat out we were not that worried. You could not get a sunbed by the pool but as the beach is just down the steps we were not that upset about it. We went on a lovely boat trip to nessebar and loved walking and looking at the stalls at night (it is a womans paradise) We loved this holiday so much we are going back again this year and we know it... Reading previous bad reviews, I had to persuade my boyfriend that this was a good choice of holiday (my friend had went 2 years prior to this to the Victoria Palace and recomended it) Everything was very cheap, so not a huge amount of spending money needed. Good nightlife, not a lot of clubs, however the lively bars make up for this. Would definitely return, especially to the Victoria Palace (tip for the ladies... get a chocolate massage in the spa, its amazing!) (read more)

The Victoria Palace Hotel in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria is absolutely beautiful! The chandelier as you walk in tells you everything. It's a magnificent place! Everywhere in the hotel is very posh. There is even a lady playing the piano at night. There was a kids swimming pool, and there were 3 other pools - 1 with a ship in the water where you can have a drink. I had a lovely holiday at the Victoria Palace Hotel in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria. I was not looking forward to going after reading the comments people had written about this hotel, but it was great! For a supposed 5* hotel, the service we received at the Victoria Palace in Sunny Beach was shocking. The food was never hot, and trying to get a table at dinner was like a rugby scrum. There was never any cutlery to be had, and tables were not cleared. I certainly could not recommend this hotel to anyone, although it is magnificent to look at. I stayed at the Victoria Palace Hotel in Sunny Beach with 5 other friends in June 2006, and I can say with certainty that it's the most impressive hotel I have ever stayed in. I read reviews prior to going, and I was a bit put off, but just ignore the people who moan about not enough coffee cups or not enough sunbeds. The hotels location is super. It is right on the front, fab view, wonderful bedrooms large and extremely tidy, and well cleaned every day. The chambermaids were wonderful. We came back from a 2 week holiday at The Victoria Palace Hotel in Bulgaria last month. The hotel looks superb, and the rooms are superb. We have just returned from a 2 week stay at the Victoria Palace Hotel in Sunny Beach and what a hotel it is. The first thing that hits you on arrival is the sweeping entrance and magnificent chandlier in reception. The staff were curtious and efficent. The Victoria Palace Hotel, Sunny Beach, Bulgaria, does have the wow factor to look at. We had a fantastic room overlooking the beach and pool. We stayed at the Victoria Palace for 2 weeks in August 2005, and were certainly impressed when our cronky old coach pulled up outside a palace, with smartly dressed porters and a MASSIVE chandelier. Check in was easy, and the porters took our bags up to the room. We were allocated a HUGE room with a balcony at the front of the hotel, but wanted a sea view, and so moved 4 days later after repeated requests to the rep!
Unfortunately, the holiday was probably the worst we have had in a long... (read more)

We stayed at the Victoria Palace for 2 weeks in July/August this year. Like others, we had read bad reports about the hotel and travelled there with some trepidation. It didn't help that getting into the country is a major headache with passport control checking, scanning and re-checking every passport. When finally on the coach, the journey to Sunny Beach takes you through some pretty dismal sights. Dozens of buildings either being demolished or in the process of being built makes you... Have just returned from Victoria Palace (2nd July 2005). Was most impressed on arrival, at the standard of the hotel. The room was not the one we booked. Had to wait 2 days to be moved. The rooms are clean and practical, though not as luxurious as the hotel itself. It was impossible to get a sun bed, unless you are prepared to camp out at 7.00am. I wasn't. Victoria Palace Hotel is a hotel which is all 'top show', its luxurious exterior and lobby (complete with the biggest chandelier you'll ever see) is a mask for all the horrors you encounter whilst staying there.
