After finding Vodafone were taking me for a ride with their pricing, I decided to downgrade my contract to the cheapest, and get the O2 online 400 package (400 minutes and 1000 texts). I placed my order online, and received the phone (Nokia 6230) shortly afterwards. Up to this day I have had no problems with O2. I have used the phone in the Bahamas, Spain, Orkney (Scotland), and a great number of times on the road, without any issues. Whenever I have emailed them regarding anything, I have received a fast response, and the staff in the shops are always very good. I have found O2 to be MUCH better then Vodafone. I don't normally write reviews, but I am surprised to see so many people moaning about what I have found to be nothing short of a great service. They even text you and let you know if you go far over your free minutes!

After years of Vodafone pay as you go I decided to get a contract. After shopping around I found O2's rates to be some of the best out there, so took the plunge and got one.
Whilst the phone itself is OK, and the service is cheap, the reception is the best.
Certain rooms in my house there are no complete dead-spots for reception.
Otherwise, I'm relatively happy with it.

After shopping around, I decided to change from Orange to a cheaper provider and chose O2.
This has got to be one of the worst service providers in the North East, after a signing up a contract for 3 phones to be used for business and having had them for a few weeks we found that on numerous occasions we could not contact one another, either one party or the other were in a poor transmission or reception area, hence the soul purpose of having company phones to keep in touch was useless, parts of Whickham, Sunniside, Newcastle, Durham, Northumberland, Seahouses, Whitburn, all without network coverage.
I am pleased to say, my contract has now expired and we have gone back over to Orange.
Having complained to O2, I was informed that we had 14 days to cancel the contract. This is fine provided you can try out all the areas you work in, but in practice it is not possible, also I was informed that the staff should have done a service check before I signed up, this was not done, also they did not ask what areas I would be working in, and although they had my address, did not bother to inform me that there was no service in the best part of my home area.
All in all, lousy service from staff that do not seem to know what they are doing!

Vodafone is seen to have the most expensive tarrif so therefore as a concequence of this an increasing number of people in the U.K are changing networks.
