Good Points: Inexpensive ($69.00) at WalMart. Not too heavy. Nicely built in Brazil. Not made in China. Fun to shoot.
Bad Points: Horribly hard trigger pull. Non adjustable trigger.
General comments: The Daisy Winchester 600x is the air rifle that got me back into airgunning. For a bargain gun, it's worth every penny. It shoots well and the sights are pretty good with micrometer type adjustments on the rear. I have no chronograph but the velocity (claimed 600fps) seems plenty reasonable.
The worst thing was the trigger pull. It felt like it took 10lbs to make it fire and that precluded any hope of getting any consistency.
I have a limited choice of pellets where I live, and have been feeding it Crosman Premiers, pointed and hollow points, and there are no problems there.
I think aside from the nasty trigger it is quite nice, and the price is right for what you get.
This gun will serve well and I don't plan on getting rid of it unless of course the HW30 I just ordered makes it redundant, which it probably will.

After shooting a quarter of a tin of 500 Crosman Premier Hollowpoints ( I know, not the best ones to start with ) and some trigger fiddling and slight mods she started actually settling down and behaving. Today I took it out for some further range shooting than my backyard testing allowed, and consistently nailed a rattle can paint cap at 20 yards.
This was with the standard adjustable open sights that are very nice for a cheap gun. I am considering a scope in the near future.
I have just orde ...

The Daisy Winchester 600x is the perfect gun for any kind of shooting, it's hard to miss with this gun. It seems to always fall into place when aiming. The weight and feel of the gun is amazing, it has the kind of feel you would expect to find in a $300 air rifle. It is great for target shooting and for hunting small game, sights are a downside but the fine workmanship of the gun make up for it, If you are looking for a great gun purchase this one and you will not be disappointed.

The Daisy Winchester 600x gun is great for target shooting, hunting or just what ever kind of shooting you do. It is a break bearrel that shoots 177. caliber pellets.
The overall look of this gun is amazing too. While you can get a 522x,722x,500x,600x,800x,1000x, it all depends on the velocity of the gun. This gun also has a slot that you can mount a scope on it.I think that is a great gun, and if your looking to buy a air gun this is definitely the one to get!!

Wanted a rifle for backyard plinking and field use . One that I could shoot targets and work on my marksmenship without a scope. The Daisy Winchester 600x's power is very good. I used 1/4" plywood trap box at 35 feet to sight it in and I have to throw it away as the pellets went right through the wood, small entry and heavy splintering on the back using Beeman Wadcutters.
Another reason to buy was I did not want to spend a lot of money. The 600x was perfect. Once I sighted it and foun ...
