I got my Daewoo 9000S5 dvd player from Bigpockets.co.uk for 51 quid as amazon had ran out. took 5 days for delivery and as already stated by one reviewer it went a little jerky whilst watching an action sequence from LOTR two towers. however i've watche the scene again and it didn't do it again. i think its worth 50 quid. i wouldnt dream of paying over that for just a named player that does less and my telly isn't exactly state of the art either so there was no point paying a ridiculous amount. Despite the bad points, the Daewoo 9000S5 is a thumpingly good value machine - I paid £39 for it and it is certainly worth every penny.

It is fast to load and play disks and, for MP3 DVD/CDs, the menu structure is intuitative.

Shame they don't do it in black! (read more)

I should say that I paid £39 plus VAT, from scan.co.uk.

<br>One other thing - for multi-region use, you need the hack:
<br>
<br>Power On DVD player
<br>Press Setup
<br>Press 1,3,7,9,8,8,8,8
<br>A new button called Version will now appear in the Setup window
<br>Press Down until you come to Version
<br>Press Play
<br>Press Up or Down to select the required region. Choices are from 0 to 6
<br>Press Setup

So unusual for something with so many claims to actually do what it says it should do. The Daewoo 9000S5 plays all regions straight out of the box with no needing to mess around with remote control codes etc. Bought ours from Amazon and it arrived in 2 days. Good service, good product. (read more)

The Daewoo 9000S5 DVD player plays over all TV stations, ie. when you switch the DVD player on you cannot watch another TV station as the DVD plays over all of them - this is good in one way because you can take it out of the box, plug it in, connect up the enclosed scart lead, switch it on and play a DVD without needing to tune it in.

Unfortunately, if you want to watch a TV station you will have to turn off the DVD player at the main switch.
