Good Points: Acres of space, excellent tourer, very reliable, very comfortable, excellent fuel economy.
Bad Points: Boot struts intrude into boot space, harsh at high revs.
General comments: The Statesman is a fabulous luxurious car at half the price of rivals. Granted, it's no Audi A8 or S-Class Mercedes, but it does absolutely everything competently and quietly. In 4 years of ownership, I've had nothing but praise for the car (and apart from fuel, oil and tyres, it's needed precious else to keep it running). The V6 supercharged engine is perfect for the car (better than the V8 or plain V6) and on trips easily gets under 10l/100km. Comfort is impressive, and leg room front and back is simply astounding. I'll be buying another Statesman when I finally decide to sell this one - though at this rate, it won't be for a loooong while.
