    I have a stakeholder pension with Legal and General and from this experience with L and G, I found there customer service very good. However I have found that my application for Life Insurance is moving very very slowly and I am expecting the cost to rise. I have been sent many forms and questionnaires to complete even though I have given the answers already on-line. However sent all these back and, well, I started the application the last week of June and I still have not got a complete acceptance/premium for the end product. I'm now looking at other providers. Aviva have been very good in the past with me and got back to me with both the policy and premiums within 7 days!

    All in all, Legal and General - customer service is to an acceptable standard but very low at actioning things - and I work for the civil service!!

    We had a quote from them and it was really good, so we decided to go with it. Then they sent us a letter saying that they had to put the quote up from £23 to £62 because of my partners job, height and weight. Even though he is a rugby player, fit and healthy, this did not show up on the stupid BMI thing. Even some of the worlds top sports men etc can be considered obese on this stupid thing.     I've been looking for life insurance, and the quote given to me by Legal & General was very competitive, and when I asked them a few questions via email they responded quickly. So far I have been impressed with their value for money and customer service.
