I have been a customer of American Express for decades.I was vacationing with my family in Israel only to find that American Express had cancelled all of the cards I had with the company, including the centurion card. All of my cards were current, as were all credit cards I hold with all other credit card companies. The reason the company gave for the cancellation was that an amount of approximately $50 was due on a card that I had never activated. After spending hours with some of the worse cu ...

After 6 years as an American Express Blue card holder, I tried to use the loss/theft protection after someone broke into our van and took several items. One of those items, a camera, had been purchased only 2 weeks before on the card. Because the van was unlocked, they denied the claim and there is no appeals process. Now, they have lost a customer over $300.00.

Just got my credit line reduced when I don't use this card very often. All this for a $30 balance on another credit card I was canceling, and the CC company mixed it up. I have other credit cards which will see my business, but not Amex any more.To others: stay away from AMEX BLUE!

I guess American Express is trying to lower their financial liability. I just paid a large portion of my bill on November 7 and on November 8 my credit limit was lowered by the same amount. This was quite a surprise when I tried to use the card for a purchase and found I had no credit left. I will definitely get this one paid off this month and cancel it.

Overall I have been pretty pleased with the way that AMEX has handled my account there was a time a few months ago when I was unexpectedly out of work, and was having trouble making payments, I called them and they actually moved back my payment due date a few weeks, and took care of my late charges for a month. Not something you usually find companies are wiling to do. Possibly since I have had the card for awhile and never missed a payment. Either way not bad to deal with at all.

Upset I am..and angry. I've had a amex blue card since 2001. Been late once (1 time) ALWAYS paid more,( by at least2-3 times) the minimum due. They cancelled my account this week. Said I was taking toooooo long to pay off account. I have many medical bills that are on my credit report but no way affect my ability to pay amex or any other charge ALL of which are paid on time and in greater amounts than the minimum. The charges I have are a small percentage of my income. I am, albeit slowly, payi ...

As with all things in life, if you are organised and play by the rules you will not have too many problems. By using the American Express Blue card for business expenses and paying the balance off in full each month allows for the occasional luxury spend that is easy to manage. The cash back is still useful even though the terms have changed slightly. For me the Amex Blue is still the dogs nuts and it looks trendy too (not sure that this will pass as a good piece of financial advice).

I've had the American Express Blue card 5 years and only paid interest charges once (my mistake). Just get in the habit of loggin on each week or so and pay. Remember, even if you pay a week or two ahead, you are not losing that much in interest from your savings and you totally prevent taking a chance on being late and incurring a finance charge.

The service is bad at Amex. I paid for late payments of 2 of 3 days and then they still put my interest rate up to 25.9% I am thinking about complaining to the banking ombudsman and also I will close this card as soon as I can.

If you are good with credit cards i.e. you pay in full every month and don't abuse transfers/advances, then blue is a good card to have. Anyone who gets a credit card with the ideal of using it because they need the money shouldn't have a credit card; instead you should get a loan with your loyal bank. I am 23 and I have a $20,000 credit line making only $36,000 a year with a next to perfect credit score. American Express helped me to get this.

I have had multiple American Express Cards including the Platinum Card. The Service is horrible. Avoid at all costs. Why would anyone pay for such poor service or for the right to use their travel services, when they are already profiting from it.

Well okay, the cashback feature seems very attractive, IF it works. My bad experiences started when I noticed a significant shortage in my first year's cashback. There is a threshold of $6500, and once you have reached that your cashback rate becomes higher - i.e. if you spend more than $6500 you are supposed to receive 5% cashback on everyday purchases, and 1.5% on everything else. Before that the percentages are 1% and 0.5%. So clearly, if you spend more than $6500 you have to receive 6500 x 1 ...

I have had my American Express Blue credit card since August 2006. When I logged in tonight they had given me a hefty CLD out of the blue, that took my utilization from 32% to 83%. Nothing as far as I can tell has changed on my credit reports, and they did not even bother to inform me of their action. I will PIF next month, and then the card goes in the sock drawer. I have never had any other issuer give me a CLD, including sub prime lenders.

The American Express Blue Credit card affords a fantastic opportunity for the young professional to join the Amex club and try to squeeze some benefits out of it. In Australia, you can get it with an income of 25k AUD annually or more, so that's quite achievable even on the minimum wage. It doesn't suck money for card fees, and the point systems are exactly the same as the charge card or standard credit card that are defended with exclusivity. The online access is outstanding, and the system fee ...

So I get about 100 offers a day in the mail and online for new credit cards. When my annual fee was raised to $75 on my current card. I'd had enough. Who should have to pay for a credit card? They are the ones making all the money. So... I went to Google and did some snooping. I searched though and compared offers and found the American Express Blue credit card. Thanks R.C. reviewer

I have an American Express Blue credit card, and I have had a mixture of service. It was literally impossible to apply online, as they do not accept a previous address which is international, and I had only been in the UK for one year. Their application form does not seem to like international addresses! I had to call them and talk it through with them over the phone; from then on though, they had a great service!

I had always wanted an American Express card since my wife and I do a lot of international travel. The problem with most AE cards is that there are annual fees. We have always believed that we shouldn't have to pay a fee to use a card that collects 3% (or more) from the vendor for processing a transaction for our purchases. Anyway, we selected Blue from American Express because there were no fees and we could use their travel centers if we needed help while in Europe (we saw their travel assi ...

I have two Amex cards. I've had nothing but excellent service out of both cards. As long as you're a responsible customer, you shouldn't have any problem out of this company.
