Such great little cars so quick for a 1.3. Cheap to run never let me down 148k and still going strong. Still looks fantastic today.

Parts can be expensive modding or just repairing keep them well undersealed. Thin metal used in building them keeps weight down but I found they can rot badly.

Suzuki Swift 16v GTi is a great car all round had mine 9 years now and would never sell it.

The Suzuki Swift is just a owsome little car to drive a true pocket rocket for the size of engine. OWSOME everyone should have ago before its to late in life. Only bad points are A LITTLE BIT TO SMALL OF A CAR WITH TWO KIDS BUT HEY I LIVE WITH IT OK

Young owners with this car usually leave them in poor condition, its hard to find a good example. Over all the car works very well, all though several hydrolic lifters all failed on mine...

I have owned my 91 Swift GTI for just under a week now and love it! The only thing is I haven't had a chance to drive it hard yet as literally 3 hours after receiving the car the radiator burst. I fitted a new rad but the engine still tends to overheat and me 'check engine' light comes on from time to time. Could this be due to the fact that the engine was not used for 6 months? Plus the engine idles strangely, it goes up and down between 1500 and 2000 rpm. Can anyone help me and explain what I ...

I bought the car just over a year ago, its white... and it's currently in the garage getting fully restored... I have ordered a new shell for the car from Japan so the car will be totally rust free and in mint condition. The swift I have will not be totally done up - it has the standard kit on it and will be transferred to the new shell and this swift will only have a few modifications done to it - firstly a K&N induction Kit will be fitted, then the back three windows will be made Midnight Blac ...

I have had many cars over the years and my modified 115 bhp Suzuki Swift 16v GTi car was the quickest, flickyest fun car I've had until the car I've got now. And even when the cam belt broke it took only 3 1/2 hours to put a new belt on and start it up and away I went. No problems with bent valves etc. Brilliant!! Oh, my new car is a import modified Impreza wrx SA. I would go out and get a SSGti any time to have for a fun car. Up to 124 mph hardly any car can beat it!

Having only just bought my first SSGTi I was stunned at its performance, it handles like a go-kart and has decent fuel efficiency. The best part of owning the car is the look on owners of Nova GTE's, Golf GTi's, Metro GTi's and cavalier SRi's faces as you tear by them (apart from the metro, tight race but the swift pulls better upto 100mph) Altogether a truly remarkable little car.

I brought my Suzuki Swift 16v GTi last year and was suprised at just how quick they are. The swift was my attempt to be sensible. The only car I have had thats as much fun is my mini, handling was great. Buy the Swift it has both.

The Suzuki Swift 16v GTi is a trully great car. I am from Greece and I own a slightly modified 1990 Swift GTI. It now has firm KONI-Eibach suspension, a free flow stainless exhaust and a racing air filter. After these mods the car is seriously fast -faster than any 106 GTI/Rallye or Saxo VTS in a straight line and in winding roads. In 'Limanakia',a well known area in Greece is one of the fastest cars around...and it sounds great too!

Having rolled my 2nd SSGTi, I thought that was the end of my racing days. But after hearing the roar of the twincam 16V G13B redline at 8000rpm, it is clear that it will be SSGTi forever.

The car is standared i have raced a 306 XSI, Golf GTI, XR2I and won all of them and you can see the look in their faces that they can't belive that its a 1.3 swift .

I had a Suzuki Swift 16v GTi from new as a company car! I worked for a company that purchased it's company cars, and you could have anything under £7.5k. This car was the most powerful car for the money back in 1990 (100bhp), the GT turbo being a bit more expensive. The little suzuki was great fun, it felt a lot quicker than it was, like a go-cart. Not really passenger friendly.
