Good Points: Small and light, with a large colour screen and loads of features such as hands free, organiser and games.

Bad Points: A little dated now compared to other handsets.
Casing easily damaged and hard to replace.

General comments: I treated myself to this Siemens SL55 hand set over a year ago and there is no sign of it giving up on me yet. It's a brilliant phone to have and still turns heads. The ability to interactive with my computer and select new ring tones etc., has created hours of fun down the pub.
I love the phone but maybe it is time to update it?

I bought this phone because of its size and looks mainly. I loved the fact it was light and small.
    BUT
Within a day or two it was already turning off. I had had my phone book loaded onto it in the phone shop, and the SL55 just couldn't take it. It froze and turned off a number of times.
I took it back within a couple of days and got a refund.

Fell in love with this phone and got it free on T-Mobile. Was disappointed with the lack of spec but stuck with it. After a year it started turning itself off, luckily with no loss of info on the memory. It has no separate tones for incoming text messages as far as I can tell. The tone I use goes on forever but was the best of a bad bunch! It has just started to get on my nerves and I feel like sending it back to siemens! Thank god my contract is up this month. Most people have had trouble from ...

I've had my Siemens SL55 for a week now and all I can say is, it's rubbish, the buttons are bad, the screen is not good, you have to look very hard at it. It's bad at texting. This phone is aimed at girls who want something small in there handbag, thank god I sold it.

I bought the Siemens SL55 a few months back, upgrading from Ericcson T68i. The reason I went for this phone was because I previously owned the SL45, and further more upgraded it to the SL45i. The SL45(i) had good quality, hard case, structually sound.

When opening the SL55, it was in mint condition, with original screen cover still on. When charging it, it took roughly two hours before I had it fully charged for the first time. When turning the phone on, it had good animation at the start, ( ...

First things first, this phone looked good when it first came out and had a real 'wow' factor. Now that everyone knows what it looks like there really isn't any point owning one. This was the first non Nokia phone I have owned and I really regret choosing this one. The phone freezes constantly requiring the removal of the battery. Then it won't come back on again. The screen size is tiny making the browser functions almost redundant. And finally the left and right navigation buttons stick ...

I'll admit, it was an impulse buy. I live in the US and had to use Ebay to buy my Siemens SL55 from the UK. I had not actually seen one in person until this piece of rubbish arrived at my home. You've read the other reviews and have heard about how cool it is but by now, it's yesterday's news. Everybody and their brother has seen this phone by now, leaving absolutely no reason whatsoever to buy it.

Ironically, for as good as it looks from a distance, the screen is abysmal. One of my coworke ...

The screen freezes without warning and depending on what you are trying to do at the time will either wipe your inbox or your phone book. This was the first non-nokia mobile I have had and it has not encouraged me to buy any other non-nokias. Therefore I am buying a new Nokia 6610. The only plus side is that this Siemens was a free upgrade and so I have not lost any money as the money I got for selling my old Nokia can buy me a new one. My only piece of advice is, just don't buy this product!

I bought the Siemens SL55 phone because I thought it looked good, and yes it does fulfill that criteria. I like the proslide mechanism; you can actually set the proslide to autolock the keys when closed, although, if you set a sound effect with the proslide, there is a noticeable delay before it actually sounds; a bit like a badly dubbed kung fu movie. The menus are fairly easy to navigate, you just need to get used to it if you haven't used a Siemens phone before. The phone speaker isn't loud e ...

Siemens SL55 - I bought this phone for £70, including a £70 discount becuase it was an upgrade. It freezes all the time, I've just had it fixed, as virtually all the buttons had stopped working. A few weeks later a button has already gone. I will never buy a Siemens ever again. The phone itself does do a good job as far as phones go, with good features and an excellent add -n camera, but Siemens are getting away with murder selling this phone.

I have had my Siemens SL55 repaired once after it kept freezing. After getting it back it managed to wipe all my phone numbers off my address book. In the end I reverted to my old Nokia. This is a phone to sit on top of the table in the pub to impress your friends, but not to use!

I actually had two Siemens SL55s, both of which had to be returned due to faults. The first one switched itself off at random. The second one on a whim first erased all my text message memory and then my address book. Putting this together with the fact that the phone never had a full strength signal regardless of my location, and that the call quality was poor, in the end I ditched the phone for good.
It's worth saying that I bought the phone and moved to Vodafone from Orange due to a promotio ...

Having had a Nokia 6310i from my work for far too long, I invested in a Siemens SL55 mobile phone a few months ago. I bought it purely because of the size and style and have not been disappointed with it in those respects.

Connectivity is an issue - no bluetooth - but I bought a serial cable for the phone for about £10 which does the job fine.

Reception doesn't seem to be great - but this might be something to do with O2 as I haven't dealt with O2 before.

    Battery life also isn't ...

The Siemens SL55 is an amazing mobile phone, easy to use, easy to txt on, easy to make calls on and thats all you need it to do.

If you buy it with the intention of sending picture messages, u will need an external camera, it doesnt re-fill your fridge like some phones, wont send things via bluetooth or wi-fi but do you need that from a phone. If you need something small, reliable and good looking to make calls and txt on then this is it.

oh and it will work on the O2 network, mine works o ...

I upgraded my Samsung T100 in December and to be honest feel conned. My old mobile phone was 100 times better than this and I had to pay £40 as it was supposedly better than the phones available as a free upgrade. The Siemens SL55 regularly freezes randomly and the only way to get it working again is to remove the battery, which then deletes all your messages. Today my phone has switched itself off 4 times whilst I was using it. It seems like you cant do anything unless its on the mobile's ...

Before i write this review i must mention the bugs i have found using this Siemens SL55 mobile phone: sometimes without any warning the screen will freeze and you will have to take the battery out an turn the phone back on. Also, having had the phone for around 8 months it has suddenly decided to delete my whole phonebook which means i have lost over 100 numbers. You may be thinking now that i'm goin to go on and criticise the phone but i'm not. That problem might just be with my phone, i do not ...

I have spent a fortune on repairs trying to get my Siemens SL55 mobile phone to work correctly on the 02 network! The phone has been flashed had new software installed but still crashes on a daily basis! I have owned many mobiles over the years and this does not even come close to any! Ok if you want to play a game its ok, making calls and SMS is a different kettle of fish, I get locked off my network! the only way to resolve this while on the road is to remove the battery and power up! Keep you ...
