    Good Points: Supposedly strong financial institution


    Bad Points: Very poor investment returns over last 17 years.
    Worthless illustration : I entirley accept the usual "health warnings" and a "scatter" of 20% would be perfectly reasonable; but an error of greater than 70% makes any illustration positively misleading.


    General comments: I am currently in correspondence with Royal & SunAlliance (going to FSA/onbudsman imminently)Re illustration supplied in 1987. Figures proved to be worthless in assessing product. R&SA uses poor stock market performance 2000-2001 as excuse for reducing bonus rates, totally ignoring the remarkable performance of the markets in the preceeding 15 years!
    R&SA have, so far, denied any responsibility.
