These scales are OK. They do what it says on the box, have a zero function and change from grms to oz and calculate liquid volume too. The problem is they DO NOT LAST. The unit change button went first after about 6 months, then they begin to creep up a few grams per second whilst there is nothing on them. By the end of the year mine are scaling up to 100 grams before I can get the first ingredient on. This is the second time I've had Salter scales give up the ghost within a year. I... (read more)

I love these Salter 1004 Electronic kitchen scales. Ease of use is a definite pro and storage is easy as it will sit like a book. Great for putting bowls on. Check that you have spare batteries. The batteries last for ages but go at the most awkward time. (read more)

I chucked out numerous kitchen scales in the past but the Salter 1004 really has exceeded my expectations - they are sensitive but not over sensitive, they look nice and pack away into a neat little box. They are also really easy to wipe clean. Slightly expensive in comparison but worth in when you think about all the money spent on rubbish ones! (read more)
