Good Points: It makes really good tasting ice cream, it takes about half an hour so you can all decide what type to have have and make it while you are having your dinner!

Bad Points: It makes a bit of a noise, it also takes up a bit of oom in the freezer, as the whole bottom piece needs to go in the freezer fro 24 hours. The biggest problem we have had is is seems to expand a bit too much when frozen and you cant get the lid on properly

General comments: The Kenwood IM200 is really cheap and has some novelty factor, although the problems I had with the lid really put me off. I have actually damaged mine a bit I have read other reviews and it seems to be a random problem. Perhaps it was because it was in the freezer for too long. I eventually got the lid on once I had defrosted the unit a bit.

Having looked at the ingredients on the last ice cream I purchased, I decided it was time to start making my own. I did wonder if ice cream makers were only a gimmick, but having read the previous reviews I thought I would take a chance. The Kenwood IM200 has now become a necessity in my kitchen, just like my bread maker. How stupid I was not to have bought one before - perfect ice cream every time.

Kenwood IM200 0.8 litre 6-8w - I bought this maker for £19.99 expecting a below-average ice cream result but at least I could now cater for my Atkins Diet husband, my Slimming World self and my Sugar and additive-free son by producing my own desserts knowing what goes into them. I was astonished by the results, it made lovely, creamy, smooth-textured ice cream in about 20 mins. It was delicious and even better than shop bought, in fact much better. I tried the recipes which were inc ...

I can't believe the other reviews. I have used the Kenwood twice, and made gorgeous ice-cream on both occasions. Really easy to use and cheap. The only other way to go with an ice cream maker is to spend two to three hundred quid - the advantage being that you don't need to pre-freeze the bowl. I'm really happy with this purchase.
