Good Points: extreamly small, coated optics, 1500 gain, unbelievably cheap. rugged. (£150 uk. $250 USA)
Bad Points: inbiult IR unit realy drains batteries and lights you up nicely too... not completly waterproof either.
General comments: The ELF-1 is an extreamly small, innexpensive night vision device from the famous russian company LOMO. its small and cheap and comes with its own padded carrycase with internal pouch, wrist and belt loop. takes 2 AAA size batteries and lasts about 11 hours. simple to use. I realy like this 1st Gen unit, it gives a sharp image that you can identify people easily by and read by. however if your going to be using it for long range observation, you'l want to find ourself an infra red illuminator.
