The Tesco Clubcard is perhaps the best-known supermarket loyalty card. With clubcard points available on anything from Tesco Car Insurance to Tesco petrol purchases, this loyalty card is extremely popular.

trying to redeem a fair number of points that have accumulated, gone are the days of a practically free weeks holiday.,waste of time , late deals and online discounts more than cover the miniscule amount now allowed with the Tesco loyalty points. Obscure overpriced specialist holiday companies with so many conditions its not worth it, what a way to loose customers. A new credit card methinks. (read more)

Having used my vouchers for the last 4/5 yrs to stay in one of the Britannia Hotels in Blackpool i find that this year Tesco's own rates that they put in themselves are disgusting for a 3 night stay midweek booking.com quote £175.00 the hotel direct or online ask for £195.00 but will match booking.com's price. Tesco's own rate is £225.00. I have £30.00 worth of vouchers x 3 = £90.00. As if its not bad enough you used to get x 4 voucher value plus double points in store (thats now... (read more)

I have created a group on Facebook so we can all joint together to fight this giant who steps on us. I've tried complaining about their 'reward' to no avail. They just think they can do what they want. My expected £60 worth of vouchers (£180 via rewards) turned out to be worth £56 - not even face value. Please search for Tesco Clubcard Rewards (or not) on Facebook and join my group. Maybe we can get enough members to make them think! (read more)

I travel a lot between England and Ireland to visit family and saved up mu vouchers to get 4 times the value towards my ferry booking. However, the ferry companies (Stena and Irish Ferries), have a different pricing scheme for clubcard deals to that which they have for regular online bookings. So whilst honoring the £40 off for every £10 of vouchers exchanged the discount is off a far higher price. In my case the clubcard prices were 30% higher than the regular prices. I took the... You need to be very wary about using Tesco Clubcard reward vouchers. We had £30 of vouchers that we thought would reduce the cost of the Stena ferry on a visit to Ireland. What we didn't realise is that using the vouchers would result in various surcharges being applied. This put the price up by £50 – some "reward" for loyalty!! So we ripped up the vouchers and bought standard tickets ... and saved ourselves £20. (read more)

I receive my moneyback vouchers online via email. The last 2 lots I have received have arrived with no barcode so I cannot use them instore. As I do not use the online shop I couldnt understand why. I contacted Tesco and informed them I needed the vouchers to be useable instore as I do not use their shop online service. The email I received was very polite and nice and was informed this will be changed immediately. Low and behold and get an email again, your vouchers are available! Good... (read more)

I consider myself to be pretty on the ball with money saving schemes etc but I've come unstuck with this one! I exchanged £12.50 in Clubcard vouchers for £50 in Park Resorts vouchers in February 2013. I read the t & c beforehand and thought it looked ok. What I didn't do was check the price of the break on Park Resorts website (big mistake!) Here's the issue: * 3 nights in a Gold Plus caravan, 22/03/13 £136 website price. * Same break, £185 to Tesco Voucher holders. You cannot... (read more)

I love receiving my Tesco clubcard vouchers and working out how to get the most out of them. We had a lovely meal out at Ask recently where £10 in clubcard vouchers gave us £40 to spend on food in the restaurant. There are plenty of ways to make them go further too from Days out to gift purchases and Magazine subscriptions. Sometimes there are short term special offers, where the voucher goes further... last year we got a Thorpe Park ticket for £10 in clubcard vouchers. The clubcard... (read more)

What a total waste of time the voucher scheme is - can't spend any other denomination unless it add up to a fiver but then the goods have to be more. Wanted to convert £9 to £18 but couldn't - item was £19.99 therefore I could only swap £5 into £10 as price was under the £20 !!! Then tried using some online for tesco direct - item was not included and voucher added but nothing taken off bill - couldn't use vouxher on anything else - had to waste more time on to call centre who... Very dissapointed with the way Tesco won't allow you to use the money that you top on your clubcard for the voucher exchange scheme!!!! I topped my card up with an extra £50 before the cut off date, believing that i would have extra money on my clubcard for the voucher exchange for christmas, oh no it states on those vouchers that they cannot be used for the voucher exchange scheme, would have much rather kept my hard earned cash and spent it elsewhere. Nice idea, but definitely, definitely, definitely not worth the time and hassle - no matter what I tried, the Beauty Expert site wouldn't accept my tesco voucher codes. I've had to phone an 0844 number and email Beauty Expert so many times to get this sorted and still have not been able to place an order because the credit that they promised to apply to my account was not applied. Today, I find that I cannot even log in to my Beauty Expert account at all...pretty soon my Tesco vouchers will... (read more)

Although not the simplest this is definitely the most rewarding card giving you a huge amount of choice as to how to use your vouchers from spa days to magazine subscriptions to restaurants to airmiles to alton towers. Much better if you save your vouchers for a deal than spending in store. You just need to give yourself the time to read into the deals and understand them Tesco could improve through making the vouchers simpler. (read more)

If you're doing the Clubcard voucher exchange, be VERY VERY careful what you order. I have just exchanged £45 of points for £90 in vouchers, only to find that I have made a mistake and ordered in-store vouchers for something that can only be bought online. Have just wasted several hours arguing with the Tesco in-store helpdesk and several helplines, who are absolutely adamant: They cannot change the vouchers. They cannot refund my points. The vouchers must be spent on small electrical... (read more)

I been a member of the Tesco scheme from the outset and I couldn't recommend it enough. It still amazes me that I see people in the shop who haven't got a club card when it's basically free money! I've used mine for discounts, vouchers, cinema tickets and to get some amazing days out for my family. The beauty of the clubcard is that it's a very straightforward rewards programme and you can use it on the biggest shop you do. I even used to get double points by marrying it with a Tesco credit... Ordered tokens to part pay for Hilton Hotel. Checked on website of flexible bed and breakfast rate for 2 nights - total was £196, the best rate was for £142 for 2 nights. I ordered my Tesco tokens and then went on to book the hotel, I was told that because I was using Tesco vouchers it would actually cost £339 for the two nights, I only had £120 worth of tokens and I would then have to pay £229 by debit/credit card. We booked 1 week cruise with Cunard in Oct 2011. As we exchanged the Tesco vouchers for part payment, we were told that the special offers such as free parking did not apply to us. Whilst I like the idea that I can save up vouchers for a weekend break, I find the whole experience frustrating. You have to ask for the tokens before you know if you can get any accommodation. If that is then not possible, then wait 3 months for them to be credited back to your account. This prevents you for trying a different hotel group, whilst everything is possible to do on line I feel this is not an acceptable wait. Tesco Clubcard Hotel Vouchers (Hilton).
This review is more of a warning to others - I see there is another similar one below!
I recently used my clubcard vouchers for a hotel stay for the first time. I has been a terrible experience and I would not recommend it to anyone, or do this ever again.

I have previously only used my vouchers for groceries in store. This year I was persuaded by a friend to change them up for 4 times their value in deals.
So I changed them up for days out vouchers.
What is NOT clear from the website is that whilst they list hundreds of places you can use these vouchers - some of them are "pay in full" which means you have to have special vouchers with the theme parks name on them.
Anyway I didn't understand this and showed up to Thorpe Park on 23rd... (read more)

Say you earn £20 of cash back on your Tesco Clubcard card; you can either cash it in, or better still, get trips to places like the mountain railway up Snowdon. We spent our latest points on a day out to Folly Farm. The points earn you more money. For example, if you earn £20 they credit you with £45 worth of day trips.

I had the Tesco Clubcard for over 3 years, and this is one card that never left my wallet. For every £1 spent at the store, I get 1 point, which is 1p. That is 1% off my shopping. But that is not just it, as I can also use the card at a number of other places, including Tesco Petrol stations. Also, I am a customer of Powergen, which helps me to keep the points rolling in. Sometimes there may be additional points on offer in-store, that will help me to build up my points quicker.

First off, I shop at Tescos because I like the store, not for the Clubcard. However I also run a company car and get all my fuel at Tesco, so the points build up fairly quickly. This means I am a Premium card holder (all you have to do is spend £60 per week in any quarter to be a premium card holder for that quarter).
