    My Dad recommended them to me having just swithched himself. I was quoted cheaper than any of the go-compare quotes and did not have to pay a deposit in fact I have 4 weeks before I have to make my first monthly payment. All the staff were polite and helpfull and I would recomend them to anyone and in fact my sister is phoning them this afternoon!!

    A delight to speak directly to an advisor at National Farmers Union (no options to press, no delay for "unexpected high call volumes")
    Very polite and helpful advisor.
    Very competative quote for car insurance, and no problem about being city-based.
    No compulsory excess for accidents.

    Sorry to be the first, but National Farmers Union Car Insurance are unbelievable, 40mins on the phone to a very nice CSR who then says "oh I am sorry your BR postcode won't allow you to leave the car on your drive overnight, has to be in a locked away, this is a new system, June 09 and it keeps throwing up this sort of thing" I phoned at the end of July and nothing has changed.     i got given the National Farmers Union Car Insurance number to ring, i dint have to hold spoke to some one right away. and got realy cheap insurance, after all the others like go compare.com tryed to rip me off.

    Farmers Union is not the cheapest insurance out there so if you just want cheap look at other places like Geico. I have had the cheap guys and they never live up to what you expect. Farmers Union actually listens and cares what you say. The customer services is what sells there products. The coverage I got was cheaper than some of the quotes I got (Farm Bureau, Travelers and Allstate). They called me back right away after I put in the quote request and got to know me and my needs.     Very friendly and helpful local staff.
    Priced fairly, not the cheapest but certainly one of the best.
    Have claimed from them and have been dealt with very fairly.
    Have all our insurances with them now and wouldn't dream of changing.
    Phone always answered by a real honest person who sorts your query with the minimum hassle.

    I've been with the NFU for a number of years and would recommend them to anybody. The best thing of all, you call there office and you don't select 1, 2 or press hash key, A REAL PERSON ANSWERS!! And as an earlier reviewer mentioned you generally speak to the same person. You also get a courtesy car after an accident and window and windscreen repairs by AUTOGLASS where you only have to pay the excess (£25 last time I think).     No other company was willing to insure me, a learner driver, on a Suzuki Jimny because it was an SUV. The fact that its top speed is about 75mph, and it's acceleration is rubbish didn't seem to change their mind about its SUV status. However, National Farmers Union offered a discount on SUV's, and they have been friendly and helpful.

    My brother is also insured on the car, and even though we are both high risk.

    NFU car insurance accepted that only one of us could drive at a time, so it cost ...

    I have been with the National Farmers Union for several years now and found their service excellent. Quotes are reasonable (sometimes cheapest) They charge little or nothing for policy changes / new cars etc. The staff are friendly and helpful and its a small office so I usually end up talking to the same people.
    They offer some unusual and flexible services such as fire and theft cover for stored vehicles, occasional business use, NCB on TFT policies Bikes up to 250cc. Also do house insurance. ...
