    Good Points: None

Bad Points: oil stains on cloths. No information on Maytag or Home depot site to assist us. No letters sent to us of the class action law suit

General comments: MAH55FLBWW model purchased at Home Depot in Parker Co June 16, 2003. Oil is coming onto cloths from the washer. The articles on the web point to a faulty seals. This was a $1000 purchase and had a class action lawsuit in 2005 that we did not know about that has expired.

Had this maytag neptune washer for a little over one year. It still works just sounds like a jet is taking off in the laundry room when it spins. Repair man came today. Repairs will be over $800 which is covered on the warranty we had to pay $90 extra for. Since the repairs are over the cost paid for the washer they are only going to give us the $ back and discontinue the warranty. Now that is some way to back your product! Seem to me they want me to buy a different brand.
    Now that I'm looki ...

We purchased this Maytag Neptune Washer machine in '01. I was thoroughly excited to get it and loved it about the first year. Then the smell started, the mold smell, constantly. I called the small appliance store we purchased it from and he tried to help me many times with different way to get rid of the smell but it always returned. Finally the computer board just died and when it would go one way rotating and then stop to go another it would make a very strange sound so I knew it wasn't lo ...

I bought the Maytag Neptune washer & dryer 6/2006, since then I have had the dryer drum replaced, the ballbearing & belt. My clothes do not get cleaned, very loud, does not spin out clothes, they are soaked. Takes 4 hours to do 1 load of clothes that still smells. There are always codes going off. The service calls have been poor. I spent 3300.00 on the set & pedal stools. I will tell everyone I know not to buy maytag.

From day one the Neptune has been a problem. Mold & Mildew are present along with the smell. The Control Board & the rubber boot were changed under warranty. The repairs failed to correct the problem.
We are at wits end with this washer. Maytag was the best & that is why we purchased a Neptune. What a total disappointment this has been.

Unfortunately I had never been aware of the Class Action Lawsuit.

Would never recommend this washing machine to anyone. Very disappointed in it. Does not wash well, my old Montgomery that was 15 years washed better then my expensive Neptune. Not happy with it at all.

This Maytag Neptune Washer is the worst product I ever bought. It cost about $800.00 and was not happy after the very first load was washed! Washer is very loud, moves across the floor, and now the fabric softener dispenser doesn't work. The repairman says it would cost $650.00 to replace circuit board! No thank you, I will buy a new product! It will not be a "Maytag!!"

A friend told me that Maytag is a good brand so I bought fridge, Maytag Neptune Washer, and dryer all together when I moved into my new house in 1999. Up to now, my fridge had four time service calls, and washer had more than 5 times. Instead of doing trouble searching, Maytag technician changed circuit board and charged me more than $200 every time. Now dryer is showing another problem. The timer is not working and stops in the middle of cycle. I cannot wait to throw all three junks out. It is ...

After spending $1,000 on this Maytag washing machine that I thought would be awesome, I'm taking a sledge hammer to it and taking it to the dump. No way will I repair it. It doesn't matter what you spend on a machine, they still break down and the more expensive they are, the more expensive to fix.

It is not only that the washer has a lot of just plain bad design problems, the real issue is that I don't feel maytag provides quality service. i am not planning to ever buy anything by maytag after this. we have a large family. I wash an average of 6 loads a day. I spent the extra money on this washer expecting a great product, I have been greatly disappointed. I do not recommend this product.

We thought Maytag was a great brand name. But after 11 years and repeated repairs we will no longer purchase a Maytag product again. We are retiring these two units to the salvage yard. Mold and mildew smell circuit board problems door switch failure that causes circuit board failure main bearings wear out constantly loud noise when in spin cycle (when it does spin) belt falling off pulley doesn't ring out the clothes leaves suds in the washer and door and doesn't clean clothes very well. Als ...

I purchased my Neptune washing machine in late 2005. It is now inoperable and I will be having the garbage company come to take the useless piece of equipment away within the next week. My towels are all ruined. They smell like mildew and no amount of product has removed the odour. Unfortunately, my model is not one of the ones under recall, although this is clearly a problem with their machines. Probably waiting for all of us to replace them and trash the machines so they won't have to mak ...

Personally I will never get a Maytag anything.
I probably am scorned for life on any new front loading washers.

I have always owned a Maytag machine. My first set lasted for over 20 years, and was going strong when I sold my house. After owning the Neptune 4000, I will never own another Maytag. It is sitting here needing over $700 in repairs. The circuit board and door lock was already replaced after two years. The machine is now almost 7 years old and I am kicking it out the door. I have a service contract with GE and have been paying it for almost 7 years now, and you would think I would get them t ...

I have always believed that the Maytag name stood for quality. No more! My model MAH6700A is such a disappointment that I am demanding a top load marchine- anything but Maytag. If I have to seek legal over this lemon I will. $2400.00 for a washer, dryer and the risers is enough incentive to seek legal action.
