I have got Nec 616 mobile phone and I didn't know how to operate it and get information on how to use all installed access; particularly, about bluetooth, game, How to use loud speaker, Compas/GPS. Would you kindly guide me how to operate my phone on the proper way. Additionally to this a friend of mine is interested to buy the same phone as mine and would like to know the current market value of this phone at this time.
Thank you for your kind consideration.

Overall, the NEC e616 is a great mobile phone with little need for improvement. The games are great, and the video calling, recording and MP3 player are brilliant!

I have this phone with 3, and even though they have great packages, their customer support is non-existent, to the extent that I have complained so much to them on various things relating to the phone, that they no longer reply or acknowledge my emails of complaints. Their customer service offices are not sited within the UK, so as you can imagine, there are language barrier problems. Bitter does not even cover how I feel.
The phones features are misrepresented as in that it is not Bluetooth ...

I have been with 3 mobile for two years. In that time I have had two different phones. When I first purchased the NEC 616 I was hopeful that some of the problems I had before had been sorted. Unfortunately that was not the case and instead the problems were worse. The NEC looks the part however both my friend and I have had problems beyond belief. These include receiving messages that had not been sent. The LCD panel said 1 message received but this was not the case as the message didn't not ...

The NEC e616 gives me peace of mind. I have a 02 mobile as a pay as u go. And I use three to make outgoing calls only. It's worth it as it gives 500 anytime minutes. No other networks gives you so much.

Well, a bit of a mixed bag, this phone. As you can imagine by reading my 'summary of bad points,' the main problem for the NEC e616 is the 3 network. Customer service is vague and useless, as is the top-up policy. 3 has bad connectivity, and this becomes quite irritating after a while. The battery is shockingly bad- using video facilities reduced the batery to last less than a day. For what is supposed to be a highly advanced phone, that is a dissapointment. The video qulaity isn't particulary o ...

Like many people we have been seduced by the advertising by 3. With their hugely discounted handsets and huge voice bundle allowances, even on their pay as you go tariffs I'd thought I'd give it a go and purchased a NEC 616v 3G handset.
When I opened up the box I found the handset to be over twice the size as my Sony Erricson T630 when flipped opened. The key layout/user interface is a little confusing with the "back" button and "cancel" being the same in some cases. Text messaging is also a ...

The NEC e616 is the worst phone I have ever had. The battery dies within a 10 minute call, half a day if you use the larger one. The reception is dreadful. I cannot make or receive a call or text unless I have 2 bars AND a 3G signal at the same time. This is added to by a network that is wholly unhelpful and refused to give me a temporary phone should mine need repairing. Can't wait to get rid of it and change to any other network.

What can I say about the NEC e616 apart from it's great you can do everything with this phone. The 2 batteries are ok, the slim one last for a day and a half the large one last for 4 days not bad. You get software and a USB cable it also takes Nokia mid files, you can upgrade the memory, calls are great and cheap not tried the video yet as I know no-one with a 3 phone. Never let me down, and the security on the phone is the best. I bet no-one can break in to it.

Although I am not a mobile guru and my last phone was 3220 (remember those? :-) I decided to go for the latest as the technology is moving very fast. The NEC e616 is stylish and the main problem I have is that the user interface is very complicated to use even for simple things and it's hard to text. Furthermore my display backlight failed within one week of purchase and there's a slight hum. I will be getting a replacement but it's unlikely I will stay with this one. It looks nice but it has pr ...

I would like to know which countries 3 network can be used (went to Spain only to find I could not use this there). Also, battery life and heat problem is a very big issue here and reception coverage in certain areas. Overall, I still find the NEC e616 an excellent phone for what I require. The many features are terrific and although some may find the e616 slightly large, well in this case I say size really doesn't matter. I know of many people who agree with this. I wouldn't trade in my ph ...

The NEC e616 phone needs some refining and could do with more technical info to help the advanced phone users. The battery doesn't last, I have to charge mine every night.
The Texting is frustrating in that when it fails, you have to write the whole text again and you can't send the text to more than one contact. I have tried saving the text and sending it to other contacts but it wipes the message after sending to the first contact. I have also found that the "sent messages" folder gets ...

A lot of people are giving this phone a very bad review, and I do not know why, yes it is not the best phone out their but it is not the worst. I have owned some very good phones Sharp gx 10, 10i, and gx20 etc, I got this phone because I wanted to try the 3g network. Lets start off with its good points, it has a clear large screen, and the phone is packed with features, that you would not get in other phones, and the 3g service is not bad at all. OK now the bad, the battery life is very poor but ...

I have found the NEC e616 phone the worst phone I have ever had! Been mobile for 12 years and as far as technologhy goes this is the worst. Dont be fooled by its looks and (acclaimed) capability. The PC Sync. does not work, the CD supplied is not the easiest of programmes to add to your PC. The phone got so hot I could not keep it in a shirt pocket... Has been for repair 5 times in 7 months.

The NEC e616 is a smart looking one, features are superb, I love the camera for instance, the video recording is poor as you can only record 11 seconds. The other reviews about dropped calls depend entirely on where you live, I suppose I am in Swansea and I haven't had one dropped call. All in all I like this phone a lot, but each to there own. Oh and be prepared to get some other ringtones, because the preset ones are awful.

The camera on the NEC e616 is like a mosaic wall picture, the battery lasts about a day EVEN IF YOU DONT USE IT!, It's about the same size as a house brick, it does have plenty of features though, reception is AWFUL, and people will LAUGH at you if they see you on the bus with this in your hand. It may be cheap, but I wonder why?
