Egg Internet Banking must be the worst web site of any of the financial institutions I have ever used.

I have been an Egg customer for nine years. The bank was bought out by Citi Bank who changed all the agreements without consultation, imposed new guidelines that don't make sense, and took decision making power away from front line staff. Result: Credit limits dropped without notification, cards suspended, savings rate dropped to zero. Not just a bad service from a bank, but actually the worst service I've ever recieved from any company. Almost any other bank is a better option.

i have just opened an egg fixed rate savings account i find the service that they offer to be excellent, except for one thing when i set up the account they gave me a sort code for paying money in via the faster payments service, but when you want to withdraw your money you cannot do so via the faster payments system, so you can only get your money back either by bacs which can take up to 4 days or pay £25.00 to have it sent by chaps.
i think that in this 21st century certain banks want to ...

Mortgage with Egg for 5 years, and until recently an excellent service allowing me to change from capital and interest to interest only payments, and back again. I do also have savings with them set against my mortgage. Now however a completly different story. You need to write and request a change and receive a standard form letter requesting your entire credit history, permission to discuss your finances with any other borrowers, fresh credit checks, income and outgoings etc. Only missing is ...

I have not been able to view any of my savings bond details for almost a month. I have repeatedly phoned them and they have no idea when the fault will be fixed. I have just checked again tonight only to find that even my internet savings account has a zero balance because of an "internal transfer" which they cannot explain. They've promised to call me with an answer but its very worrying as I now seem to have no balances on any Egg account!

Making withdraws is excellent. Checking status of all accounts with Egg- very good. Have only suffered a non-availability on the internet twice in 4 years.
Account with good communications as far as I`m concerned.
This maybe due to only using the internet in the day.

Access to the Egg internet banking website has become progressively worse. I now cannot access the site for the third time in about three months. The website features are geared towards Internet Explorer but it seems not for other browsers.

Egg have blamed my problem on my other bank - not them they say. Then on my pc storing cookie history - which is dealt with as it has been for years by my anti virus software.

We then have to phone an automated phone line to get to someone to complete the transaction.

    What is going on?

Been a customer of Egg for years. Recently it's taken a real downturn. I opened a savings account and for the last 3 months have been chasing them to put interest payments in the correct account! Still not done and have decided to to withdraw my savings and close my credit card.

Egg Internet Banking www.egg.com used to be good but couldn't recommend them now. I was contacted with an offer for 0% balance transfer but when I came to take it up, they refused since I wasn't a new customer and surprise surprise, they couldn't trace the call they had made to me or the person who made it.

Cannot always view each page - certificate errors are common
Cannot always view all accounts - supposed to be one of the key benefits of being with egg. Generally a poor service - they blamed their technical issues on my pc set up which I know is not right

Being a loyal customer for approx 7 years & never missing a payment, I expected to have a request for a £500 increase in limit approved. However, it was declined with no comment.

I sent Egg a secure message expressing my disgust, but did not want nor get a response.

Am in the processing of moving to Mint, who have offered me a better credit limit & deal and seem very good, so far.

Just what is going on at this bank?
This is an online bank that always seems to be offline when I try to log on. I have not been able to access my account online for 2 days.
My card has been declined and Egg tells me this is because the transaction would have taken me over my credit limit - but then agree that this does not make sense when the transaction was for 140 ' . I have still got over £3500 of unused credit.

I have been with Egg.com for a good number of years now and although their interest rates are not always the best, they are close. I frequently transfer money to my othe non Egg accounts and have income paid directly into my Egg account. To date I find them to be good.

Can't access my account, because it's closed, and Egg won't tell me how much interest they have added, so I can't pay that off, and their communications are truly hopeless. They first told me I owed them £6000, then that became £600 - so I paid that, and then they said the account is closed but there's more interest, send us £2,70, oh and the cheque will cost you £2.00. I am now waiting to here exactly how much they want me to send to close this bloody Egg card account an ...
