Good Points: Brilliant service for 10 years - but what has gone wrong in the last 3 months recently!

Bad Points: Not being able to transfer funds - wanting a 'security number' and then not being able to complete transactions, as the page is not available?

General comments: Egg have blamed my problem on my other bank - not them they say. Then on my pc storing cookie history - which is dealt with as it has been for years by my anti virus software. We then have to phone an automated phone line to get to someone to complete the transaction. What is going on?

Been a customer of Egg for years. Recently it's taken a real downturn. I opened a savings account and for the last 3 months have been chasing them to put interest payments in the correct account! Still not done and have decided to to withdraw my savings and close my credit card.

Egg Internet Banking www.egg.com used to be good but couldn't recommend them now. I was contacted with an offer for 0% balance transfer but when I came to take it up, they refused since I wasn't a new customer and surprise surprise, they couldn't trace the call they had made to me or the person who made it.

Cannot always view each page - certificate errors are common Cannot always view all accounts - supposed to be one of the key benefits of being with egg. Generally a poor service - they blamed their technical issues on my pc set up which I know is not right

Being a loyal customer for approx 7 years & never missing a payment, I expected to have a request for a £500 increase in limit approved. However, it was declined with no comment. I sent Egg a secure message expressing my disgust, but did not want nor get a response. Am in the processing of moving to Mint, who have offered me a better credit limit & deal and seem very good, so far.

Just what is going on at this bank? This is an online bank that always seems to be offline when I try to log on. I have not been able to access my account online for 2 days. My card has been declined and Egg tells me this is because the transaction would have taken me over my credit limit - but then agree that this does not make sense when the transaction was for 140 ' . I have still got over £3500 of unused credit.

I have been with Egg.com for a good number of years now and although their interest rates are not always the best, they are close. I frequently transfer money to my othe non Egg accounts and have income paid directly into my Egg account. To date I find them to be good.

Can't access my account, because it's closed, and Egg won't tell me how much interest they have added, so I can't pay that off, and their communications are truly hopeless. They first told me I owed them £6000, then that became £600 - so I paid that, and then they said the account is closed but there's more interest, send us £2,70, oh and the cheque will cost you £2.00. I am now waiting to here exactly how much they want me to send to close this bloody Egg card account an ...

I have had an Egg Internet Banking account for about 2 years now and yes their are better deals out their but unless you want the hassle of changing who you bank with every 8 months to a year. Their details are reasonably competitive.

Egg insist on payment by direct debit. They then don't activate it until after the due payment date resulting in a hefty interest charge, your card being refused and you supposedly going into arrears. Having expected them to have organised this properly you don't realise until it's much too late and you've been charged all sorts.

I like the Egg online servicing. There is no need to call in if you run accounts correctly.

Egg had first mover advantage in the Internet-only savings account market, and so they have a lot of customers. However, now every bank and banking centre in the land (and many from abroad) offer the same service at the same (or better) interest rates. I recently closed my Egg Internet Banking account after becoming frustrated at their website being down far more often than is acceptable for an online banking service (they acknowledge they will be shut one day per month, and there are also u ...

Egg banking do not appear to want my business at all, and they have made it nearly impossible for me to gain access to my money, as it is an internet access only account. Phone staff are unhelpful. I have been advised to try the internet when it is back online to access my money. Not a lot of good if I need it when I want it, as opposed to when they can be bothered to repair their site. I have waiting for 2 weeks now. Another annoying thing was the mail in the post I got telling me how my int ...

I am not expecting anything unusual; just a credit card account. Egg Internet Banking used to be a good service, with which I was happy, but it has deteriorated in 2006 to unacceptable levels. I am moving my accounts elsewhere.

I have an Egg Internet Banking account, but I have not been able to access it all day because their servers have been down. Worse that that, when I called their call centre they could not tell me when they would be back up. To add insult to injury, the person then asked me not to call if I had web access because customers without web access could not get through. How can an Internet bank go offline for a full day? Don't they have backup systems or something? After this experience I am going ...

I hold an Egg internet savings account. Recently it went offline, and despite dozens of calls and emails (never once being called back despite promises), my access is still down. The call center staff are confused, as they could log in internally. In short, this is a good service online when it works, but when it fails they are like headless chickens and refuse to help. I have now changed my bank and taken my money out of my Egg account.

I had an Internet Saving account with Egg, great rate when the bonus extra was there, but afterwards a very uncompetitive rate. At the end, I had no option but to move all elsewhere where a higher rate is offered permanently. Also, Egg's system is unable to let you transfer funds into certain accounts.
