....awful if you are having a conversation. The emails get hidden and it's difficult to go back to follow a trail/find previous emails. This is a big issue for me on an otherwise excellent email provider. Feel bad giving so few stars but surely I'm not alone in thinking the 'repeated replies' issue is dreadful (or maybe I'm just a bit thick). If this was sorted I'd give top marks across the board. Sorry gmail (but please fix this major annoyance) (read more)

I have used many different mails and I can say that G-Mail is the best. It is not only user friendly and very fast but it also has very minimal ads. When you go onto any other mail, Yahoo, you are flooded with ads and you will not be able to do anything or complete any work. I can chat with my friends with their very sleek chat box, and I can video chat, threw out my Skype after that. This is an all round very good email system and even goes beyond that with Google Docs. You can share... (read more)

I only began to use gmail because all my workmates are doing so. I was not so thrilled but later I found it very useful. 1- It always works even though internet connection slows (which happens often in the country where I am). 2- It is the only mail where you can attach big files. If you use yahoo, it will take some time and you are not even sure it will work. 3- It’s very easy, which is a plus for new users like me :D. 4- You have multiple sign in. 5- You have google + which is I think... I use Gmail service as my work mail account. The threads systematization is good for work mails only I consider. However there a lot of spam messages I have to delete daily. They move some of them to SPAM folder, but not all, most are into my Inbox. At first, the whole Gmail system was very complicated to me, considering that I'm a sophisticated user. I tried to use this mail service as my personal box, but I failed in that, threads of personal e-mails are not suitable.. in fact they are... (read more)

Our business, school district, went to Google mail from outlook. It is truly a piece of garbage. No auto correct feature which is major to me. The filter filters mail from other employees within the district. Mail is sent to unadressed recipients which is a problem with confidential documents. The informality and general aesthics are ugly. Do not consider this if you are a business it is horrible. And since educational institutions receive for free their support is minimal. Wouldn't... (read more)

Basically GMail is a step above most of the other free mail services out there; nice and solid. Spam filter is superb. Although it could perhaps be a bit more intuitive.

I pretty much ditched Hotmail as soon as Gmail came out, and never looked back. The search feature is brilliant - no need to keep your inbox in order, as you can use Google's excellent search functionality to find all your old emails.
I even use it for storing important documentation or sending reminders to myself. And with such a large mailbox, there's no need to be precious about your usage. After 5 years using it, I've still only filled about 15% of my inbox.

I needed lots of storage. I've forgotten exactly how much I have now but what Gmail was offering was phenomenal at the time. Mostly I would sent myself content from a web site where part of all of the site was being deleted.
Gmail is, however, a great big pain. You can't put emails in folders. Anything archived may never be found again. If I sent an email, I can't get rid of it except by deleting, and if I don't delete, it will be impossible to find.
Oh, yes, deleting. They tell you that...

I have been using GMail by Google Mail for years now and only one word can describe them... brilliant.
Pros:
1.) It's free
2.) Massive storage space
3.) Easy search features
4.) Fantastic spam protection
5.) Reliability (I have never had any problem accessing my email in almost three years now)
Cons:
1.) None, that I have personally seen myself
Overall:
If you're looking for a clean and simple, free email service; then look no further than this. You really will enjoy it.

After making a quick check on reviewcentre - which I have just joined - I thought I would give gmail a try. GMail is the best email service I've used - far better than Hotmail. Easy to navigate and use with tons of great features. There are "labels" which replace the traditional folders which are better IMO and an archive feature which means your inbox doesn't have to be full, but means you don't have to delete any emails... ever. The "labs" provide loads of other optional features like "delay sending" which gives you up to ten seconds after you've sent an email to cancel it, which is very useful.... (read more)

Look at yahoo's email address book. You just simply click on the "to" button and your list of addresses comes up. But gmail, I had to go to a whole other window to do this?
Or if you want to forward your message you have to type the names in there and you can't go to your address list as far as I am aware...
