“opening new account”

Written on: 28/07/2016 by oeRomero467 (1 review written)

Customer services are awful, took my son in to open an account clydesdale bank teller said we would have to make an appointment, I was a bit shocked just thought you had to fill in a form, then he said we should go to another bank, really shocked his attitude was really bad so I told him I didnt like the way he was putting himself across and I said the account was for my son, he laughed at that and said he was not bothered the account was not for him. Sadly for clydesdale it was for my 15 year… Read Full Review

“Incompetent! ”

Written on: 16/06/2016 by UnfairlyTreated (2 reviews written)

Have made releasing funds for house deposit an absolute nightmare! Failed to do everything that was requested of them. Posted CHAPs receipt to a house address which we don't even own yet!! And apparently don't know what a "full bank statement" is, when all that was received is a transaction detail. Will be moving ALL accounts from Clydesdale to a different bank. … Read Full Review

“Time wasters”

Written on: 06/04/2016 by KatieNunez (1 review written)

Arranged new car- got finance from Peugeot no problem but after checking online saw cheaper APR. Had choice of 3 at 3.3% chose Clydesdale as partner has banked with them for 35 years so thought it would go through more quickly. After a week of phone calls finally got acceptance 2 days before due to collect car. APR nothing near 3.3% -offered 4.6% -now too late to try the others. On principal will go with Peugeot even though it will cost more. We are lucky enough to be mortgage free, 1 credit… Read Full Review

“PPI Claim USELESS”

Written on: 04/02/2016 by Shand359 (1 review written)

PPI Claim was FAR from smooth. Been waiting since DECEMBER for the balance of the claim. Keeping getting excuses as to why it hasn't been paid. Mostly our fault apparently because WE didn't chase it up ourselves. Customer service or should I say LACK of service… Read Full Review

Now i'm still waiting for access to my internet banking as that's yet another… Read Full Review

“ABSOLUTELY USELESS !”

Written on: 31/12/2015

When opening ISA account in December 2014, Clydesdale ignored my written request of transferring funds on a specific date, following endless phonecalls claiming loss of interests, miscalculated the refund, never apologised and did not make any compensation offer. One year later, on a new transaction with same 40 day notice ISA savings account, said they never received my original notice letter, refused over the phone to send a written confirmation of second letter of notice and then ignored my… Read Full Review

“Unhelpful, unrealistic and archaic”

Written on: 14/11/2015 by BradynForbes457 (1 review written)

I had a problem setting up the auto bank transfer online and phoned them. They were very unhelpful, didn't seem knowledgeable and said I had to close my existing account. I explained that it's too late for my work to pay my next income in to a new account but they weren't interested in waiting until my accounts department had completed the switch. I tried to complain but they allow 300 characters, including spaces, how can you explain in so few? I was unable to complete the switch yet they've… Read Full Review

“No chance in getting the 3.7 APR loan if you don't ba”

Written on: 05/11/2015 by Efrain331 (1 review written)

My partner and I have excellent credit. Sensible spending and borrowing, never missed a payment. Have plenty of money left at the end of the month so I thought I would take a loan with them to buy a car. 3.7 APR was 8.4 APR. Double and a bit. They then proceeded to tell me when I challenged the APR that because I don't bank with them they can not see my spending habits and that's why the APR offered is 8.4%. When I offered for them to see my bank account and spending and saving to review the… Read Full Review

“No problems whatsoever...”

Written on: 09/10/2015 by Kemp24 (1 review written)

Opened an account by phone and received debit card and PIN number promptly. Account only took about 30 mins to open. Online banking format takes some getting used to, as it is quite different to other banks, but otherwise no issues at all. Customer services were friendly and very helpful… Read Full Review

“Joke”

Written on: 13/09/2015 by jennyfalkner (23 reviews written)

I was with this bank for 2 years when completely out the blue they closed my account because I was 'over using' it! All I done was around 10 - 15 transactions a month so I'd hardly say I was over using it!! The staff are also rude to be honest and every single time you try to call the call centre it takes a minimum of 15 mins to get through to somebody. I've now been with Barclays for 10 years and the difference is night and day, Barclays are twice the bank of the Clydesdale - joke of a bank… Read Full Review

Applied for credit card, completed all the forms, about 5 days later received letter telling me I had been accepted and asked me to signed enclose form and return and would receive my card 5 days later. They did contact me but instead my new card arriving they decided they wanted copies of my last three months wages. this surprised me as I had retired and completed a form stating that. I phoned their office but they were unable to help, I did apply to another company and was given a better… Read Full Review

“appauling customer services and jobswoths at Cumbernauld ”

I separated from my husaband in 2010 and now it is 2015 and I am still trying to change the name on my Clydesdale account to my maiden name, yeas 5 years of trying. After repeated visits to the branch in Cumbernauld, writing numerous letters, numerous telephone calls, paying for a divorce as advised I couldnt change name until I had a decree and today's fresh hurdle was a request from the person at Cumbernauld asking where my maiden surname comes from as possible money laundering hahahahaha. “awful service”

Written on: 01/05/2015 by Nathaniel370 (1 review written)

just got off the phone to their direct mortgages section. terrible service! I was calling to help a client who has been unable to progress her mortgage with them due to the property being downvalued. I was asking basic questions about what we can do in order to challenge the valuation for her. After a few contradicting bits of information that made no sense, i was told the client would have to email them comparables directly which i said was fine. They wouldn't give me the email address and… Read Full Review

“Worst customer service .. Unprofessional staff”

Written on: 11/04/2015

I am closing accounts I have held for over 20 years in disgust at the complete lack of customer service received within my local branch. I maintained a current account with them for years out of a misplaced loyalty to a firm that claims to be concerned with providing a personal service, but when you are confronted with a 'computer says no' attitude you realise they are no better than online services. I opened an ISA 5 years ago, and the staff kicked up a huge fuss when i wanted a copy of the… Read Full Review

“fixed rate saver”

Written on: 10/02/2015 by 479Webster (1 review written)

I have just taken a fixed rate saver with Clydesdale. They offer one of the best rates in the market just now. The staff were a pleasure to deal with and there was no hard sell at all offering other products I did not need or want. I would recommend. If you are looking for a Fixed Rate Bond with a decent rate in this climate look at the Clydesdale… Read Full Review

“NO access to my money for 1 month now”

Written on: 17/12/2014 by Joy156 (1 review written)

I joined clydesdale with my move to the UK. Efficient in the beginning - they gave me a good set up with a maestro card. Unfortunately no PIN number to use it and I could only access certain things online. I asked for a master card which they sent out 2 weeks later. The card needs to be accessed at an ATM with a pin number, so I asked for that too. They sent a blank pin letter out. At this point, with no access to funds I asked what I can do to access my money. They would not express post a PIN… Read Full Review

I was in the process of transferring almost £50 iSA;s into th is bank because they offer a good rate. Having read these reviews I will steer clear of them I don't have the energy to launch a battle with a bank to have access to my money. Thank you everyone for saving me from them.
