Applied for credit card, completed all the forms, about 5 days later received letter telling me I had been accepted and asked me to signed enclose form and return and would receive my card 5 days later. They did contact me but instead my new card arriving they decided they wanted copies of my last three months wages. this surprised me as I had retired and completed a form stating that. Terrible service, obnoxious, jobsworth staff!! Had to wait almost 2 weeks for our mortgage offer...staff had lost paperwork and emails, everything had to be sent through again. Then got a no to our application for no good reason whatsoever!! “appauling customer services and jobswoths at Cumbernauld ”

just got off the phone to their direct mortgages section. terrible service! I was calling to help a client who has been unable to progress her mortgage with them due to the property being downvalued. I was asking basic questions about what we can do in order to challenge the valuation for her. “Worst customer service .. Unprofessional staff”

I am closing accounts I have held for over 20 years in disgust at the complete lack of customer service received within my local branch. I maintained a current account with them for years out of a misplaced loyalty to a firm that claims to be concerned with providing a personal service, but when you are confronted with a 'computer says no' attitude you realise they are no better than online services. “NO access to my money for 1 month now”

I joined clydesdale with my move to the UK. Efficient in the beginning - they gave me a good set up with a maestro card. Unfortunately no PIN number to use it and I could only access certain things online. I asked for a master card which they sent out 2 weeks later. The card needs to be accessed at an ATM with a pin number, so I asked for that too. They sent a blank pin letter out. At this point, with no access to funds I asked what I can do to access my money. I was in the process of transferring almost £50 iSA;s into th is bank because they offer a good rate. Having read these reviews I will steer clear of them I don't have the energy to launch a battle with a bank to have access to my money. Thank you everyone for saving me from them.

I tried to join Clydesdale because of their good interest rate on their current account. Big mistake. I was going travelling for several months just after, and the procedure for opening the account and registering for internet banking was so long-winded that the process was not completed before I went travelling. “Worst bank”

I have never been so angry towards a bank. This is the first bank that doesn't value customers and its systems will find ways to suck money out of you. Just imagine, for a £1.50 overdrawn money, the bank charged me £30! And that happened many times. How did that happened? Their internet banking is not up to date, as the 'Balance' will only be updated the next day! Purchasing sometimes can take 4 days to be updated in your internet banking balance. “Total failure of customer care”

I was taking out two mortgages last year and one did not complete. It took 7 days to get sorted and cost me a lot of money together with huge stress. They offered my £100. I told them I wanted more they have been fobbing me off for a nearly a year now? They are a disgrace. I will be mortgaging asap. They accepted full responsibility but feel that their offer is fair. “Poor poor company.”

I have been with this bank since I was 12 years old starting on a junior account. As time went on I have had to upgrade my account from junior, to student to a general current account. Each time they have mucked up the transitional process, loosing documents submitted and requiring me to attend yet ANOTHER appointment in store to resubmit the documents. This is simply the worst banking experience I've had and I have worked in the financial services industry for 17 years. The registration process has been massively changed and is now completely unworkable. It is simply frustrating and ultimately fruitless. My honest advice to anyone would be to use another bank - have nothing to do with Clydesdale Bank. I just give up! All other banks have far simpler registration processes but this one is just a series of hurdles to set up internet banking. Not impressed with this bank at all. Moving from New Zealand to the UK and basing myself in London they were pretty quick to set me up with an account ready for when I arrived. HOWEVER they only set me up with a maestro card. At the time I didn't think anything of it, until I began trying to book holidays and travel and had to pay for everything on my NZ credit card! I required to move a not unsubstantial amount of money from my credit card to my current account to cover a matter that needed dealt with sooner rather than later.
