Can someone tell the world what is going on with Lycos Mail, USA? It will NOT let me into my e-mail account. If servers want to shut off the free accounts, they should have the common decency to tell people first, give them a little time to contact everyone and THEN shut them off.
Lycos does not have ANY means of contact other than on-line. Whom are you really paying, where is their business address?
I seldom had problems before, many less problems than the big name servers and was able to a ...- Read Libee's review (145 words)

I will try to get off Lycos mail too,but it will be a hassle as this is my address for many things. But in the meantime, how do I retrieve my emails of the past 10-12 days?
This is all the more frustating as there are no human beings to contact it seems from my experience. Any advice appreciated.- Read Guest's review (83 words and 1 comment)

They just deleted all my saved emails for the 2nd time in a year. It took me 2 weeks to find out why - they said that I had been SPAMMING (which I certainly had not) and will produce absolutely no evidence of their allegations nor will they forward their saved emails to me. Don't touch these people with a barge pole is what i would recommend.- Read bashstreetkid's review (74 words)

Where do I start?? Firstly mail doesn't come through for hours / days if at all. I registered on 2 forums which required email verification, the first email the first forum send didn't arrive at all, i'm still waiting on the second after 2 days!! Unreliable, emails get lost, advertising clogs up the screen, complete nightmare!- Read rwooduk's review (64 words)

Yet again (6th time to my reckoning) I cannot access my Lycos mailbox - it's been 3 days this time and reports to Lycos have gone unanswered. So I cannot access emails which I need for my college report. That's the final straw - I've put up with this appalling service for years but no more. I'm leaving.- Read bashstreetkid's review (71 words)

Go to gmail, yahoo, msn... Lycos for me was slow as molasses. It took over 9 hours to deliver a message. Some messages just got lost in a black hole as far as I am concerned therefore I do not recommend lycos.com for an email address service.- Read Guest's review (54 words)

System error signs almost every time I try to send an email, "try again in a couple of hours." If I try several times I can get through. Also, it corrupts and changes "To" fields and renders emails unsendable. Really, really, bad. I echo other commenters below.- Read Guest's review (47 words)

Tried just about everything I can think of but when I try to sign in it just keeps returning to the sign in box asking for password when I go to lycos home page it shows me as signed in. As far as I know the system is bug free this is a major pain as I know there is mail on there. So my advice is look somewhere else for your email provider!- Read Guest's review (89 words)

Wowee. Three months now since Lycos Europe had a problem as far as I am aware with their email and Lycos Inside feature. Still no sign of any work in sight as far as I am aware. Indeed they are still saying - on the odd occasion they bother to respond - that they are working on it as a matter of urgency. Therefore I do not recommend Lycos Mail.- Read IanErc's review (78 words)

Lycos mail is terrible. It's like an old banger that suffers a new problem every week, but because you drive it every day you just kind of get used to it. Then you drive something better and you're blown away. I've been with Lycos since I first got on-line and it has got progressively worse. Painfully slow, clogged up with annoying adverts, my mail doesn't get delivered, can't access my account, etc., etc. But when you do a lot of Internet shopping like me it really is a pain to switch providers ...- Read Guest's review (92 words)

Was a very good service for many years. However since their big upgrade recently it has never got back on it's feet as far as I am concerned. It's slow when it works in my experience and quite often I can't access it through outlook or even on the the web? Loads of errors occur for me. A few times my inbox has emptied on my pc through outlook and I have to download all my messages again as far as I am concerned - not good if you have a download limit with your ISP, luckily I have 40GB a month. If I could offer any advice to anyone thinking of opening a Lycos account it would be don't bother.
Countless times I haven't been able to sign in to my account, not only that e-mails don't come through for days. The best one though is going into my account after being told I have 12 new mails. Once I get in I'm told my inbox is empty, not only that, I can't find any of my other emails! I started using lycos so I could create a more personal email address for applying for jobs but the reliabili ...- Read redkat09's review (191 words)

At present I have nothing good to say about Lycos, I can't get to speak to anyone from www.lycos.com after a week of trying, they are not helping me with my business in my opinion.
I do not recommend Lycos Mail until I receive help with the problems I am experiencing!- Read Guest's review (53 words)

I'm leaving asap. I pay for a domain name which lycos host. I've been told by people to empty my mail box because they get mail bounced back to them saying my mailbox is full when its actually empty. I used to rely on lycos for important emails, not anymore. Also the removal of POP access was another deathly blow.- Read Guest's review (73 words)

Lycos is so unreliable, each time they have an upgrade I am unable to access my account with any reliability through Outlook for days, this time its worse I can't even access it through Lycos.co.uk. It's a waste of time complaining they couldn't care less and no one ever gets back to you. I am changing from www.lycos.com to Googlemail once I can get into my e-mails!- Read Aaw24's review (87 words)

I have not been able to view my emails now for over 5 days and I have sent many emails via the jubii helpcenter form and as far as I am aware I have not yet heard anything! I have really important emails I need to view, reply to etc and for over 5 days now nothing has changed. Really really terrible service. Will be closing the address down once I can access and resend my emails. I often have problems like this but never for 5 WHOLE DAYS!- Read LB1980's review (92 words)
