I used to love msn Hotmail service it worked really well and was easy to use. I loved it so much that when my internet service stopped using msn I paid to keep the service. the ease of use and the msn explorer were really great. It has seemed that for the last couple of years they haven't been updating the system to work well with newer computers. my msn explorer keeps shutting down no matter whether I am just checking email or on the web browsing. I have had to stop using msn explorer and switch to Microsoft edge and sign onto my email through outlook. msn explorer also won't let me open any attachments in my email. also if you have any problems the only thing they have on their website to help you is a virtual agent that doesn't do anything. you can't find any contact numbers and if you do a search online you get a bunch of different phone numbers and you don't know if they are legitimate numbers or not. I had problems renewing my account so let it expire hoping they would send me a phone number to contact. I eventually ended up at the member center and went to the msn answers tab and clicked on billing help and a window popped up with the phone number to the billing and tech support number and finally got the problem taken care of in about 10 minutes. they should have these numbers on their site and/or have a live chat on the website for all subscription services. there should also be an email address to send problems, complaints or suggestions too.

I really suggest Msn Hotmail to people who did not use it before as I have never experienced any problems with it yet. Nore or don't have an address I'm a member since almost 10 years I didn't.
Easy to create an account
Custemer service is pretty good.

What I think about www.hotmail.com. Well, I am not a computer nerd although i would like to be i find it hard just trying to send on an e mail on Hotmail i have recieved to one of my contacts also adding a contact to my contacts from an e mail with the e mail incorporated in the letter eg joeblogs.co.uk how do i move that to my contacts without writing it all out then going on to contacts and typing it all out.

I do recommend www.hotmail.com. However, I intensely dislike the 'awesome...' as the default site. I have tried to get MSN but it is overwritten by "awesome...". I do not like the content/face plates of the awesome locale. It bothers me that I have to go through so much to get the MSN or Hotmail.
Is there any way that I can expunge "awesome..." from the site?
I have tried over 35 times to change it using the tools menu. I put it in the default site, click apply and okay but the xgyjgm
Awesome returns almost immediately.

A popular choice for e-mailing. For the simply fact that it's free, Hotmail is reliable and good. They've recently redesigned their layout and it works more like the traditional Outlook Express. I like this feature because it allows you to view an e-mail next to your inbox. However, the redesign does make it more difficult to send an e-mail because you must go to your inbox (when you first login, your inbox is not the first screen you see) in order to open a new blank e-mail.
Overall though, I have been a customer of hotmail for many years now and they have never let me down. They keep you well informed of updates and give you a large amount of space. For free, you can't complain!

I'm having the most frustrating time resetting my MSN Hotmail password. On Friday, without warning, Hotmail stopped recognizing my e-mail address or password as valid. When I followed the steps for password reset, they indicated they were going to e-mail the special reset instructions, but only to the address which I couldn't get into! When I created an alternate e-mail address, they continued to indicate they were going to send the reset instructions to the one e-mail address that I couldn't get into, with no other options. When I e-mailed their support line, they responded by sending the standard password reset steps I had already tried and which had failed to help me. I've been e-mailing them back for two days now, with no reply.

For the past 2 days I have been trying to log into my MSN Hotmail email and have not been able to do so. I thought it was my PC. I have done all that I can do to it to try and solve the problem at my end. This has happened before, but not for this long. It would be nice to somehow know if there was a problem with the site.

Perhaps some notification as to various messages or where to find the meaning of these messages would be a great help. As of now, 3 days have gone by and I have yet to figure out what exactly is wrong with my Hotmail account. I may have inadvertently hit some key that has caused this problem. Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

All my dealings with MSN Hotmail take ages. I have only been with them for a a few months, but surely communicating with my daughter in America should not be so complicated! She recommends Hotmail!!

The problem with MSN Hotmail (www.hotmail.com) is that I don't like it that people need to answer so many small question just to get to use the email address.

Unable to forward messages that contain attachments. I can forward the attachments but only the words forward and not the pictures.
Have been a Hotmail account user for several years but have ignored the problem. Would like an answer before I consider giving someone else a try.

MSN Hotmail hasn't been very reliable lately when trying to sign in. It keeps saying page cannot be displayed and saying make sure you are connected to the internet (which I am).

Just within the last few days, I can no longer sign on to hotmail? Does anyone know why this is happening. The IE browser just seems to hunt and then comes up with a unable to find page, etc. Does anyone know why this may be happening. I can access my hotmail account from others - friends computers, but none of the computers in the house are allowing me entry. Help.

I have exactly the same problem and have had to change my e-mail address from home now. I can access hotmail from other computers and I dont know what the problem is. It is very annoying though as I had a lot of contacts through hotmail.

MSN Hotmail - Excellent Service Free of Charge. I have sent so many e-mails to so many countries on a professional level which otherwise would have cost me so much if sent via Airmail. Convenient, Fast, and Extremely Realiable.
Sir, Madam, I would like to highlight one point -- sometimes if I use Hotmail in a Internet Cafe and do not sign off because of time and money. Can't you provide for a service that if we Sign-Off from another computer that that e-mail line would automatically sign off from all computers. This would avoid people having access to another person's e-mail account, for sometimes I have found people have opened or sent me e-mail which I have not myself sent. I am thinking of security here. If we forget to Log-off can you devise a way in which if we Log-off another day no computer may have access to that e-mail account.
Sincerely,
Miss Gunasekera

I have a Hotmail account that I've used for ages because between having been a student throughout most of the '90's and then moving around internet providers (and residences/countries) regularly for a few years I needed one address that all my friends and family knew would always work. At the time there were far fewer free email address sites online, and many of them were small and new and one could never be sure if the company would be around for very long, so Hotmail seemed like a good option.
As an email service it's pretty good. It's almost always accessible, the site is easy to navigate, you can send messages as text or as HTML, you can attach and receive files and Hotmail will even run a virus check on any files coming into your mailbox. You can set up different levels of security whereby you can allow only emails specified as "friendly" into your inbox, or allow everything, or set up a filter that puts stuff Hotmail thinks is suspect into a Junk Mail folder.
As many of my friends swap email addresses around, and random acquaintances I don't speak to often use my Hotmail, I don't keep it on the highest security setting. In the past, this has often meant that logging in on a daily basis I could find easily 100 emails in both my inbox and my junk mail folder. About 6 months ago, Hotmail did an update which almost entirely got rid of the spam, but the clever spammers have already started to find ways around it. But it has definitely improved overall, and it's a good sign that they seem to be trying to keep a step ahead of the spammers.
The only really negative point is the lack of space. If you hoard emails like I do and hate deleting anything (especially correspondence with people like academic supervisors and university bureaucrats regarding submission dates and things) then it can be a problem, especially when spam fills up your inbox and emails start bouncing.
On the whole though, if they start giving more space like Yahoo and Gmail then it will definitely be a service worth signing up for, if you don't already have an account.
