I have just wasted over an hour trying to redeem Barclaycard Goldfish points. No information was available on the website and I was pushed from pillar to post by phone. I was assured by phone that I would be able to access this information. I tried again online but no luck. I wasted a similar amount of time last month, when attempting to access my account online. This card used to be good before Barclays took it over, since then I have had lots of trouble when trying to use it to book flights, keeps getting blocked then you have to ring their call centre which is in India spend about half an hour answering silly questions, getting card reset and then it still does not work. Lost my flight because of this. Thanks a lot. Will now get a different card. (read more)

Have had my goldfish for years without any problems. I pay off in full each month and have always been impressed with the quantity of top name retailers involved in the reward scheme. Since their takeover by barclays it has gone downhill. The only way to find out about the partners is by phone, and now they say I have to use double the points to get my £10 voucher...... I think not, shopping around for another reward card as we speak, but there are not that many out there unless you want... (read more)

I too have noticed the halving in value of rewards points. Very disappointed. My Goldfish used to be a real winner. Now it is outclassed on every front by companies that seem to want the business, unlike the current owner Barclays. Moving on to 'Amex Platinum cashback' with immediate effect. (read more)

Hello - had the card years, Barclays have taken over and I get the impression they want me to leave, which is pretty disgraceful. I would like to add that I have Barclays shares and feel very worried that a million customers could be leaving as a result of their indifference. Just got the 3500 for £10 pounds letter and have spent 20 minutes trying to find Goldfish online and locate the current rewards partners, so far no joy. Sums the card up for me now really. Received a letter today to say that as from 1 August you would have to redeem 3,500 points for £10 as opposed to 1,750 and also that if you had a nil balance and did not use your points within six months you would lose them. I telephoned to redeem my points and cancel my account. Was not impressed with the telephone service had to punch my account number and date of birth in a total of four times to transfer between departments. Would have given zero stars if that was possible! (read more)

I have used Goldfish as a credit card for over 6 years. They used to be fantastic, helpful and you could always speak to someone who understood ENGLISH.

Sadly in the last year, their staff seem unable to understand English and seem unable to grasp the 'Ms' title, I have been called Miss, Mrs and as I have a double baralled name, it's always a lottery as to which part they choose to use.

Taken 3 weeks and believe me a lot of hassle to sort out a payment that was made to the old Goldfish account instead of the new Morgan Stanley account and have put the onus on the cardholder to sort it out. Their poor communication has left their internet paying cardholders with a real problem in retrieving any payments made to the old handling bank. (read more)

Used to be a Financial Advisor and often recommended Goldfish for the points benefits when owned by British Gas but due to frequent change of ownership benefits are gradually being diluted. Have just tried to redeem points on my own card and cannot believe the length of time it has taken. Am seriously worried about pending takeover by Barclays. Transferred in from CSMA card run by Liverpool Victoria whose customer service was excellent. Unfortunately, this was not by choice. Now, after 6 months of Goldfish taking over my card, I've finally received my first statement. Still waiting for cards and PINs though .... :-(

I have been with them for years and I pay promptly to avoid any charges. Last month I did not receive a statement but its not my primary card so thought nothing of it - this month I got a statement with a whopping £12 charge and total rudeness when I placed a call to them - even trying to give the card up means being put into a never ending queue. Goldfish was fine until taken over by Morgan Stanley and the first thing they did was block my card. I am £800 in credit but three months later after trying to get several new cards sent nothing has happened. I am trying to get my money back now, I don't want another card. I tend to pay off my Goldfish credit card in full every month, so I suppose I am more interested in bonuses than the charges.

I've have a £10 credit for usage and every few months collect vouchers for £30 or £40 to spend at George Henry Lees or Marks & Sparks.

I've not had any experiences with customer services worth reporting; all my enquiries have been dealt with satisfactorily. (read more)

I have been a customer for 10 years, but I have cut up both cards due to their general apathy and poor customer service.

Customer service is unaccommodating, inefficient and negative. Credit card on hold when plenty of credit left because on holiday over Christmas and payment was not on due date. Numerous phone calls and full payment, but Goldfish still would not release the credit card. (read more)

I recently got married, and unlike Egg, Goldfish insist on me sending my original marriage certificate or a copy signed by a solicitor. I applied for the Goldfish card with the interest free period to transfer a balance from another card (the card with no loyalty scheme). I had no problems applying for this card. Customer services have always answered straight away and been helpful when I have had any queries. They do try to sell many different products when talking to them, such as insurance etc., which increase the fees on your account, but they do take no for an answer. I had a Goldfish credit card for about 3 years. I finally decided to give up after about 6 months of waiting for a new card. I transferred the balance and thank goodness. This card always had problems from day one. I always pay my card off in full every month. I had recently even had some months when I ended up in credit! I forgot to pay one month, leaving a min payment of £10 outstanding. Goldfish stopped my card without notice. In the meantime I was 5 months pregnant and, totally unsuspecting, went on holiday. When I tried to pay the hotel my card was refused. I have been very happy using this Goldfish Credit Card, and have had no problems whatsoever. They have a good points programme where 1500 points can be converted to £10 vouchers at various retailers, or two cinema tickets! I find this much better than cashback, as all other companies are constantly reducing their cashback rate so one can never really build up enough to get any rewards. (read more)
