“We bought a sofa, and found out it was made with foam!”

We decided to send the covers of both our sofas to the dry cleaner, when removed the covers of the first sofa ( purchased in another store ) I had to vaccum as the feather falled arround , the other was the John Lewis sofa, I wish I can upload the picture of the nasty foam the sofa is made with , if you pay for an expensive sofa you expect good quality products not a nasty foam… Read Full Review

“Nightmare Delivery”

I placed an on line with John Lewis on 8th February. I order a lot from John Lewis and normally it comes in a couple of days. However, this turned out to be longer, and when I got the tracking numbers I realised it would be delivered on Thursday 12th - when I would not be at home all day. The carrier was Hermes, and I contacted them through an online chat to ask for delivery to be put back to Friday 13th. A most unhelpful agent told me to put a note on my door!! “ Shocking Customer service ”

I Recently bought a samung tablet had problems with it charging after 2 months . I phone technical support they told be to take it to the nearest john Lewis shop.they sent it off to be repaired. They Rang me to say it was back in store fixed. Got home with the tablet and there was a note in the box saying it hadn't been fixed . “John Lewis poor service caused me a lot of frustration”

I need 3 roller blinds and a pair of curtains for my conservatory. I placed an order for the 3 roller blinds with JL and received a text to inform me that order was ready for pickup. Once I had received the confirmation, I commissioned for a matching pair of curtains to be made (cost £300)and for a handyperson to install the blinds for me. “Spent 10K, left us all the rubbish”

My husband spent over £10k on fitted wardrobe, last week the fitters spent 3 days fitting them and left us all the rubbish, they said they will collect them next day but never turned up. When we called and complained they said the earliest they can do is next week, it's so much rubbish that the carpet fitter won't be able to fit the carpet. “Apple Mac Book Insurance at Chichester Branch terrible”

“Bluewater your place to eat Restaurant ”

Visited place to eat restaurant bluewater on 01/02/15, what a terrible decision it was, ordered the roast chicken dinner, food was only lukewarm, queued again to tell them the food was substandard, nothing on the plate apart from the plate was hot , food was replaced, replacement food was lukewarm. “Do not use John Lewis.com!”

I ordered on line for a birthday gift. I was told it would be ready after 2pm the next day. I left plenty of time and went to the store - no item. I asked to speak with the manager - he would not come out. I was told that they did not have the item it had not arrived but they would phone for it to be sent urgently. On 26 Dec 2014 I ordered a chair on line and delivery was arranged for 7 Jan 2015 between the hours of 2 and 9pm. The item ordered was a birthday present for my son and I traveled to his property which was a 2 hour trip to be there to accept the delivery. At 2.20pm I received a call from John Lewis dispatch centre to say the desk was not available for delivery and they did not know when it would be. That was the only explanation I was given. “Didn't want to know but I tracked down their MD!”

Bought number of light fittings, bulbs going pop weekly, electrician ok'd electrics (new) several emails were met with an email saying I would be contacted, 4 emails, 3 premium calls later nothing! I found on line MDs email, next day my phone was ringing, long story short months later I've given up they have 'tried' to make the right noises to help but at great cost done away with expensive light fittings (rubbish dump) bought from BHS, electrician fitted & all perfect! I agree with you their Customer Service is the pits. I will be writing to their MD shortly to complain about the way I was treated. You cannot call an individual store any more. It's a call centre!

Purchased items on line from John Lewis 27/11/14 to be delivered Saturday 29th, checked account Friday to find that two lots of money put on hold by John Lewis, different amounts, almost £200.00 overcharged. Phoned Friday 28th to be told that this has never happened before and that money would be released back into my account. “Inept installation "experts"”

I ordered a gas oven from John Lewis on the basis of their reputation, I should have come on here first! While their delivery and installation date was much later than others we felt confident that there would be less hassle with such a reputable name behind it. The installers came when they said, but expected the old cooker to be removed ready for them. We bought a cooker from JL beginning of December. They would not be able to fit it till after Christmas!! and it would cost £65 Electric cooker. So we took delivery of the cooker in a couple of days. I found a local reliable electrician , charged £30!! So a rip off! Our problem was getting the £75 cash back! I managed in the end. Without their useless Customer Services. We have bought no end of electrical appliances from them over 30 years they have been locally. They are not customer friendly like they used to be, too much about making bonuses. Should have realised after the fiasco with the new fridge!! You have my sympathy I don't think we will buy from them again!

Oh dear John Lewis. You really need to sort out your customer services, after all, this is what we pay a little bit extra for. Having alerted you to a pricing issue, JL error, I was questioned as if I were trying to defraud you out of millions of pounds. 8 days ago I went to the John Lewis website via an Airmiles website to buy a new ipad using a gift card as part payment. Didn't have the colour (gold) I wanted in stock but did have a free extended warranty. “Appalling service”

We ordered a custom made sofa 3 weeks ago so we would have it in time for Christmas. A week later it was still showing as proccessing so I emailed customer service to check it was ok and I was assured that it was fine. I recently purchased an oven and induction hob from JL, spending over £1,000. We went to JL because of their boasting of 'worldwide customer service'. “Absolutely Shocking 'Customer Service'”

My husband and I had the same experience in Cheadle. Nobody wanted to help - fortunately my husband knew exactly what he wanted and it was only when he was close to exploding and said "look, if you don't want to sell me a TV, just tell me and I'll go elsewhere" that someone actually served us!

“A day wasted”

Money taken from credit card before goods sent from warehouse.Delivery arranged a month ahead.AT 21.55 previous night,advised not all of the order in warehouse.Spent day on phone to J Lewis .com,still awaiting a reply as to when it could be delivered. “Very disappointing service!”

Have had a fridge/freezer on order for 12 weeks now. After 3 failed delivery attempts I have now been told that they cannot tell me when my fridge/freezer will be in stock. This is made under their name and they seems to have little or no control over the manufacture. I was charged in full (£3000)for this item weeks and weeks ago and advised that it was in stock! “Downhill Fast”

After huge amounts of prevarication, excuses, and utterly wrong info, I was told John Lewis do not match competitors' online prices, despite what is written in their T & C.
