Recently ordered washing machine and paid extra for collection of old machine and installing new . I admit I have a narrow galley kitchen but they decided before even trying that they couldn't do the job! I signed all relevant paperwork and as he left he say ' if you just remove the handles it will probably come out!! 15 minutes after they left I had removed the old and installed the new !! “This company has gone downhill fast! ”

I have shopped at JL for years and spent an absolute fortune. Not everything has always gone to plan with them but in the past they always resolved an issue satisfactorily. We shop with JL because we always thought customer service was good and it does tend to be good when you are in the store dealing face to face. The problems arise when you order items to be delivered as we have found out on a few occasions and more recently this week. Once I ordered for 2 pairs of cotton shirts, but I received my requirement in damaged condition. I called John Lewis Customer Service. But their response was quite unfriendly. I brought this fact before the manager and he listened me carefully. Thereafter he told me to send the defective shirts back. I did accordingly and received my fresh lot with in two days as such I have no grudges in their services.

“Poor customer service ”

I bought a wardrobe from John Lewis online - it turned out to be very poor quality and the hinges and joints failed within 6 weeks of purchase - I must stress I did not overload or misused the wardrobe, and it was on a level floor. I contacted John Lewis three times and they failed to have the courtesy to even reply to me. Clearly once they have made a web sale, they just don't care about customer service at all. “Terrible service and poor customer relations”

Ordered fridge freezer, needed it urgently, on day of delivery nothing turned up. I telephoned to be told it was not in stock for two weeks. Cancelled and ordered one that was in stock. They cancelled this next order without even calling me. Then they held the money on m credit card for a month which locked my card as fraud activity. Having been let down by debenhams and next we persuaded my 68 year old father to spend the extra and order a sofa from John Lewis on their 7 day delivery. We did this on the basis of John Lewis's reputation for good service. What a mistake. Not only did it not arrive within 7 days we were told that the footstall and sofa had to be delivered seperately. “John Lewis Kitchens poor service”

I will never buy kitchens from John Lewis ever again. Poor customer service. Don't be fooled by the service before you pay, once you have paid the customer service goes downhill. Before they take your 20% deposit they are helpful, respond to your calls and emails but once deposit is taken, no response to emails, I had to chase up but still no response, i finally had to call and speak with someone else to deal with it. “Worst customer service I have ever received”

I placed an order back in June which included some chocolate items, gift sets and a candle. Some of these were Christmas presents because I like to be organised. “Where's my refund?”

Being my favourite brand but no store in the area where I live, I bought Christmas gifts from John Lewis.com for collection from my local Waitrose store. This part all went to plan. After placing an order online for a Samsung 9kg washing machine on Saturday 26th December 2015, we had a delivery date confirmed for the following Saturday which was the 2nd January 2016. “Ruined wedding experience !”

Wedding list for my daughter ... Guests would order and the product would then be discontinued ! Failed delivery three times of the wedding gifts and THEN admission that all wedding presents had gone missing ! Lots of phone calls to retrieve gifts or change into vouchers ... “Total Nightmare...Incompetance At Its Best”

I ordered 2 items on black Friday, I then get a call next day from John Lewis's credit check department. The lady asked me my bank details and said no problem we will sort delivery.

I then get an email the next day cancelling my order.I ring up to ask why and they said I failed credit checks, I said okay, can I reorder? To cut a long story short (4 weeks, 2 hrs of phone calls, 2 emails and a 40 mile round trip to store ...... So far) John Lewis seem to have lost my order, which I placed online and paid using a gift card.
