Purchased items on line from John Lewis 27/11/14 to be delivered Saturday 29th, checked account Friday to find that two lots of money put on hold by John Lewis, different amounts, almost £200.00 overcharged. Phoned Friday 28th to be told that this has never happened before and that money would be released back into my account. “Inept installation "experts"”

I ordered a gas oven from John Lewis on the basis of their reputation, I should have come on here first! While their delivery and installation date was much later than others we felt confident that there would be less hassle with such a reputable name behind it. The installers came when they said, but expected the old cooker to be removed ready for them. “Trading on an old reputation.”

Oh dear John Lewis. You really need to sort out your customer services, after all, this is what we pay a little bit extra for. Having alerted you to a pricing issue, JL error, I was questioned as if I were trying to defraud you out of millions of pounds. 8 days ago I went to the John Lewis website via an Airmiles website to buy a new ipad using a gift card as part payment. Didn't have the colour (gold) I wanted in stock but did have a free extended warranty. “Appalling service”

We ordered a custom made sofa 3 weeks ago so we would have it in time for Christmas. A week later it was still showing as proccessing so I emailed customer service to check it was ok and I was assured that it was fine. I then get a message today saying the there was a problem and I would need to call to cancel the order and then reorder. The number they left was closed. “Terrible customer service”

I recently purchased an oven and induction hob from JL, spending over £1,000. We went to JL because of their boasting of 'worldwide customer service'. The appliances were delivered and fitted on the same day, brilliant, except the hob was damaged with a large scratch. I called the customer services dept and was told a replacement would be arranged. “Absolutely Shocking 'Customer Service'”

Having previously bought items from John Lewis and being less than impressed with the level of customer service I was reluctant to return, however I had seen an offer for a TV with free sound-bar, which along with the 5 year warranty made it a decent option, I was however open to reasonable suggestion had there have been a better option available.

My husband and I had the same experience in Cheadle. Nobody wanted to help - fortunately my husband knew exactly what he wanted and it was only when he was close to exploding and said "look, if you don't want to sell me a TV, just tell me and I'll go elsewhere" that someone actually served us!

“A day wasted”

Money taken from credit card before goods sent from warehouse.Delivery arranged a month ahead.AT 21.55 previous night,advised not all of the order in warehouse.Spent day on phone to J Lewis .com,still awaiting a reply as to when it could be delivered. “Very disappointing service!”

Have had a fridge/freezer on order for 12 weeks now. After 3 failed delivery attempts I have now been told that they cannot tell me when my fridge/freezer will be in stock. This is made under their name and they seems to have little or no control over the manufacture. I was charged in full (£3000)for this item weeks and weeks ago and advised that it was in stock! After huge amounts of prevarication, excuses, and utterly wrong info, I was told John Lewis do not match competitors' online prices, despite what is written in their T & C. “Damaged goods, wrong parts and rude staff ”

John Lewis at Home Bedroom Furniture Same quality as IKEA and probably made in the same factory. Visited the Edinburgh store and waited sometime for assistance (the store was not that busy). “Ordering Online is a problem”

A few months ago John Lewis took £80 off my credit card in an unauthorised transaction. Initial explanation was from them its fraud. So I cancelled my card, but then few days later they said it was an error on their part. Too late, cards already cancelled. Anyhow, inconvenient and annoying but £80 refunded. “Dreadful Customer Service”

“Worst Customer service ever !”

Ordered online like I have done many times before (My compnay has spent over £30,000 with JL), delivered to Waitrose store in Hitchin, they refused to let me have my order because I do not own any photo ID, I have a birth certificate, paper driving licence lots of credit cards, but none have a photo, rude, arrogant staff. they told me that in 7 days they will return it and 3-5 days after that I will get a refund. “Bedroom cupboards”

We have just had five bedroom cupboards supplied and fitted apparently by John Lewis but actually by Hammonds, their sub-contractor. This has taken nearly three months which has meant that our renovation and occupancy had to be delayed because the carpets couldn't be fitted as the cupboards had to be realigned to vertical. Bought a table in their sale. They delivered it late and fully assembled. The men delivering it bashed it around my lift, through the door of my flat and eventually wedged it in the living room doorway. In so doing, they damaged the table. “Atrocious Customer Handling and Care”

In a very short matter of fact, I have never been treated as i have trying to purchase my items on line with my card which was rejected by the JL internal security department which you can't even get through to! Over the years, I have spent thousands with John Lewis.
As you can see in my review of their on-line store however, John Lewis will no longer get my business.
Review Centre should introduce zero rating for those the few who deserve the accolade. A worst -in-class service does not merit any "star" rating.

My story is so long i will try to keep this brief. John Lewis have messed up my order three times now. Truly appalling. I had to pay next day delivery which has yet to be refunded and guess what?
