i do not like sky! it was working fine for the first 7 years i had no problems what so ever with it. Well that was until now! my sky box isn't working it says no signal all the time and i am paying lots of money for it !!!! so people i just want to tell you don't go with sky. when i call them up they just put you on hold for ages ans it is so annoying i just want to tell you this so you don't have to go through what i did :) but there sky hub is OK but it is very slow (read more)

When I signed up for a package with sky which included a M&S gift voucher which I didn't receive I did a live chat with sky to sort this out and to no surprise I was cut off before the problem is resolved they make it very difficult to get threw to them and phone calls are at a ridiculously high rate to put you off calling its terrible considering the money they make from their customers! I emailed Sky 3 months ago telling them I was switching to Virgin and wanted my Tv, Phone and Broadband cancelled. I bought the sky package on an offer of £20 a month, sky tv, broadband and talk. After 6 months my bill for on average 55 pound a month! I never used the land line since we both had mobiles, basic tv package. The last year the internet was unconnectable most times. What crooks, called me in September offering me a free 4 month sky tv package as I was actually unplugging my sky box, said it wasn't a contract, if I wanted to take up a contract after the 4 months then I could, they have taken nearly £100 out of my account and tell me I have to give them 31 days notice for a contract I dont even have. I have had sky now for 2 months and for 4 days now my sky box has been saying there is no signal being received. I have called sky and the basically told me to get someone out to fix it? I've never really had to bother too much with the customer services at Sky. However recently my next door neighbor decided to get sky installed as well. Wd have very happily been with sky for years. We have converted many friends to the delights of sky plus. We have claimed no other tv to be better.... Yet we decided to cancel movies choosing it to be better fit US to buy per movie. We had 3 movies saved recorded whilst paying sky customers yet now the movies disappear but we paid for them. Just rejoining sky after leaving 2 years ago for Virgin (which was much much better). Moved to an area where Virgin was not an option. Engineer showed up who was incompetent and couldn't figure out how to plug in a sky box. Claimed I needed an adapter, so suspended the installation until I provided an adapter. Ordered the Multiroom HD with sky sports and family channels £75 a month subscription + a one of payment of £398 for 2 extra boxes and was horrified to see they brought 250Gb on installation when we clearly stated we want 1Tb. Well there are many thousand with complaints about Sky. When you cancel sky I would not sign up with Virgin or BT because my friends they are all the same, I know, I've tried them. Now I will not sign a contract of any sort until there is a clause in to benefit me, that is if they do not provide the service or put things right within 24 hours the contract can be cancelled. Very contradicting info from the "guest's" response (18/4/1012) who claims to be a former sky engineer. Sky came round to instal everything at my property. However, they claimed it was "awkward" but stated that the SAT team should be able to put it on the chimney no problem (severely contradicting what the so called "former sky engineer" has stated!!). The SAT team were useless, didn't even come to inspect the property. They simply told the engineer who was round at the time that they couldn't do it, which he was surprised at. I agree that Sky are real money grabbers, but they couldn't even be bothered to try with mine. Clearly getting too much money and have become lazy! Also the engineers don't seem to have a clue between them, uselss!

Sky advertise that if your a customer they offer rewards to see movies at the cinema. I have looked at movies available in our area and we would have to travel 36 miles to view a movie , whats more whenever I have looked at availability of movies it has always said, sorry fully booked, so I have finally given up on the idea. I think i better read up on them. I am an ex Sky engineer, if any business partner of Sky is on a service call they carry replacement boxes on board at all times, they do not attempt any repairs on the boxes , other parts leading to the box yes, but not the box its self.Incidentally it does sound like a box error, however if it persists after a replacement box, then the LNB ( the point bit at the front of the dish) could be faulty

I have sky at home and they have been excellent. When the signal was taking a knocking from the weather they came out for free next day and adjusted the box lwb or something simialar. Their prices aren't the cheapest but they are the leaders of content with far more available. They have Sky Go for all my devices and adding bbc iplayer soon which is amazing. If we all did that they would not last one week, and they would never be able to prosecute, they would not have time before they went bust.
My TV now consists of FREE SAT which gives me some HD channels, if I want more I buy or rent the film. I what all the sports including football through my laptop (Connected to tv if I wish) using FREEFOOTBALL.com. I have been using this system now for about three years, and guess what. I have never had any trouble, I don't lose the picture except through weather conditions, which is against anyone's control. The best part of it is that I save so much money me and the wife can afford to go for a meal and take extra holidays. Worth thinking about hey?

Ordered Sky TV, Broadband and Home Phone package on 17th October, I was asked to supply a MAC code from my current supplier (Orange) so the transfer could begin, Within a couple of days the router arrived for the Sky broadband, so now all I am waiting for is a telephone call or email from Sky to confirm a date as to when I am up and running with them. Whoever designed their customer service is someone who hates humanity very much and is on a mission to destroy it one heart attack at a time. I have had had much worse experience than this. Waited for 6 months for the communal connection to be brought to individual flats. Love digital lied about me saying over the phone that I have cancelled the appointment because of other plans when I waited a whole day till 7 in the eve for the Engineer to come by and it still didn't work out as he had no equipments. Really not acceptable service. Really my blood is boiling with anger at the moment, I just want to get over with it!

You can upgrade your subscription online but you have to call up to downgrade. I have called twice to cancel the sky movies package but I'm still subscribed, and I'm being charged £ 16 a month extra for these channels. Just awful. Dodgy installation that they refused to stand over. Couldn't even get them on the phone most of the time. A engineer sorted out the problem in minutes (poorly connected cables on a communal dish. These were love digitals connections). Unfortunately it took 5 weeks and about 1000 hours on the phone before sky would send him out. Avoid if at all possible (read more)

At the moment I am with virgin media but only because they offered me 6 months half price broadband. Before that I had 12 months with sky. I had been with sky since the start and always had good rapport with customer service. over the years I swapped and changed due to cost cutting in the home. I have now been a Sky customer for over 1 year and I still love it as much as the day its was first installed. The channels are second to none and although it can be quite costly, you get what you pay for. I have the unlimited phone pack which is fab as my sister works in USA and Canada for 6 weeks at a time and I am able to call any landline free of charge. ADVERTS ON ALL CHANNELS at the same time. I find i am making myself metally sick searching for something to watch during the breaks. There is only BBC news which repeats every 15 minutes and a summary every 7 minutes.
Too many American programs for children. I didn't like my sons watching American style programs, they don't speak properly. Poor quality chinesse toys are advertised during the many breaks.

Great timing guys, my partner is making a programme about poor customer service so we filmed and recorded the calls over the loudspeaker as we had heard about dreadful service!
Staggered that despite 7 phone calls to Love Digital (Sky installation company) at various stages throughout the day and assurances that "he is definately coming" from the customer services team, the engineer neither showed up nor telephoned as promised when purchased.

After years of struggling along with Freeview I finally decided to move across to Sky TV in my new home, partly because the signal was dreadful in our block and partly to benefit from services like the 'free' broadband and Sky+.
Getting Sky installed was relatively pain-free and within 10 days we had the Sky+ box working in our flat. The only issue with the installation was that the engineer didn't set the Sky remote to work with my TV but we've since sorted that out.

sky+ box breaks at 10 months old, so they "fix" it free, breaks again at 11 months old- so they "fix" it again, breaks again at 12 months old and they want £55 to "fix" it again, I dont think so. I was with sky then decided to go to freeview, I found top up tv but sadly my signal kept playing up so I opted for virgin media. After 12 mths sky offered me a good deal so I switched over to them. SKY PACK :I got a tv, phone, internet package. The service is not good, to install the dish, connect tv and internet I had to wait more than 5 weeks, then when installing the dish they made a hole in the chimeny and we had damp on the wall, had to take chimeny out, they say it is not their responsability!!

I called SkyPoint Digital's 1-877 number was on hold for about 10 minutes, which is ok and understandable if they are busy. I wanted to order the Canon D50 listed for $319, and also the 17-85MM lens. I live in a block of flats and when I join SKY in 2007 a subcontractor
(Spectrum Ltd now LOVE DIGITAL) went to install the Sky Tv and for some reason the engineer disconnect my communal aerial.

As a former Sky engineer i have seen this a few times before. It is impossible to say if a property has a communial system without visiting first, sky try to keep a record of these properties but it is rarely accurate.
A possible course of action for you is to contact Sky directly, as a matter of course they will have to send out a standard engineer ( insist on a Sky engineer and not a Business partner). The engineer will either place the dish else where on the property ( with your consultation of course) how ever if the ONLY place the dish can go is on the roof and the Standard engineers equipment can access this point then he should offer to arrange for a SAT team ( Special access team) to attend and complete the installation, this is a two man team that has additional training for the more awkward access points ( they can hang off ropes etc)...There is no charge for this team if you follow this route.
Please note, Sky will not put a dish on a roof / chimney purely for cosmetic reasons
