I have owned this tv for over 5 years now and paid £1700 new. I have never had a problem with it or a bulb go on me, it has been the best tv that I have owned, only getting rid of it to get a lcd led tv, otherwise i would keep it, remote is brilliant without batteries and the dual screen functions are brilliant, also the range of inputs available .

I was looking for a plasma TV but when I came across the LG RE-44SZ20RD I couldn't believe the quality for the price. I've now owned it for about a week and it is probably the best thing I have every bought. The picture in picture is brill, it's definitely saved some arguments in our house.
The only slight problem I have is that sometime when swapping the PIP from AV1 to TV, instead of getting TV it switches to AV1, which then means I'm getting AV1 in the big picture and small. But this is a minor problem and is not used very often.

I had two 42inch Plasma TV's and was disappointed with the picture quality, skin tones looked like melting plastic and ghosting was dreadful. Philips was the worst so I got my £3,500 back and bought the LG RE-44SZ20RD. Great TV but the noise of the fans is driving me nuts, suppose you have to make a trade off somewhere. Being a bit of an anorak I've put a 2inch brushed steel border round the outside edge of the screen, breaks up all that black, looks great.

LG RE44SZ20RD Rear Projection Television.
I owned a Loewe (68cm analogue) TV which was the envy of friends for some time. With the advent of more recent technologies (and in particular, digital, wide screen format etc) I wanted to move to a system that supported the new technology. After looking at what was available, my choice was (Australia) Foxtel digital, Sony STR-DE495 coupled with the LG RE-44SZ20RD. The results were very pleasing. While there is a bit of "twitching" involved (Foxtel is best with S-Video on AV2), the end result was exceptional. The LG RE-44SZ20RD rewards you with an exceptional picture if you do a bit of homework. Well worth the effort at a price well below any realistic plasma contender.

The LG RE44SZ20RD Rear projection television offers a high Quality picture via terestrial TV but at its best using SKY Digital. Vibrant colour and good contrast allow for clear daylight watching. PIP kis great for watching sport/soaps at the same time.
