I used my Gamo shadow 640 .177 Air rifle for the first time on the ten metre air pistol range shooting 536 out of possible 600. Really happy with accuracy but found the trigger leaves a bit to be desired. I would happily pay another fifty dollars more to get a better trigger. Having said that I have adjusted the length of pull and it seems to be a bit better. time will tell when I shoot again next week. It is difficult to buy anything without actually trying it out before hand and it would have ...

In general this is an excellent rifle, the most outstanding fact is that pellet speed is withing a very small speed dispersion (180 m/s +/- 1m/s), measured with Chrony M1 in sets of 10 shots. Pellet is H&N Diabolo Sport.

Top combo. Couldn't ask for more. Feels like it will last until the youngest moves up to rim-fire.

I bought the Gamo Shadow 640 air rifle to rid the house at the Lake of overrun of squirrels. I can hit them, sometimes even knock them out of a tree, but most of the time they shake it off and run away. Now I guess I'm going to have to spend more $$$ for a 1000ft per second gun.

I've owned the Gamo Shadow 640 Air Rifle for about two weeks and I love it! Anyone who says you need 1000fps must be going after deer or elk. I've killed squirrels, crows and rabbits from 40yds with the Gamo hunter and master pellets. I also own a crosman 2250 and this is a lot better!
Another plus is that the thing only cost me $80.

I have recently purchased a Gamo Shadow 640 on my holiday and have put about 1500 rounds though it already. I have found that while accurate 3.5 cm groups at thirty yards are easily possible with the truglo open sights that come with the gun. However its ability to put down varmints is marginal. It will take blackbirds and magpies at up to 30 yards, but rabbits take a while unless your shot is spot on (at 15 yards) and possums will laugh at you unless you put one in the brain or throat. (no grea ...

I have owned Gamo Shadow 640 Air rifle for two month. I do not like plastic lock of barrel, it is not durable. it moves already. But overall its a accurate and powerful gun, it is light, very good aim sites.

THis gun really has some power for 623fps. It blows cans in the air with Gamo Hunter pellets. Easy to cock and zero'd in in five minutes. Trigger has a good feel and it does kick a bit which gives you the feel of a real gun. Seems like it will last forever. Also have a Gamo Cadet Delta for my 8 year old, although it is a bit long and heavy for him he will grow in to it. That gun is nice to at 525fps. Fiber optic sight are great. Scope that came wit the Delta is a piec of junk but what do you wan ...
