I have seen issues of this magazine over the years, and the only thing that seems to change is the look and a few stories. How is this still running? Each year there are the same stories in multiple issues and even the same thing run each year! The A-Z is sh*t, it seems to feature very sparse amounts of resorts (probably only the ones that pay for advertising). There is no hiding it either, sometime the page numbers are even from the previous issue, and some stories ran from older years in... (read more)

Good Ski Guide is very honest, reliable, but maybe a bit traditional in its views. Excellent safety features, and hard-hitting.
Seems to dislike USA resorts (quite right as they are small) but writes up Canada (business link??). And vile about Eastern European resorts - again quite correct.
It has famous writers and good solid reporting, but not enough ski gear reviews.

Truly awful publication, seems to have been written in a style at least 20 years out of date. In terms of resort information seems to be far more interested in being contentious rather than delivering any useful information. The lack of any meaningful equipment reviews and the volume of drivel focused on the decor of a given hotel (meaningless details) makes me question if any of the staff actually have ever been skiing or snowboarding. Awful, awful magazine. Who edits this rubbish? I can't believe this magazine is still going. Have mostly seen it left in the toilets at the ski shows which quite frankly is about as much as it deserves. (read more)

i think Good Ski Guide is one of the best ski guides i have ever read becasue it debunks a lot of the myths about big resorts such as Vail, 'Verbier and St Anton - criticizing themnd saying they are not best for families but resorts which operate for profit rahter than look after guests. It has little equipment writing but what it does it does well and does not talk down to you.
Also has amazing prizes witht the winners names/photos published, which is another rare thing these days.

I have never actually bought the Good Ski Guide but I did stumble across their website and was horrified to find an article headlined "Beasts from the East" which slanders Eastern European skiers as being a bunch of drunken and dirty "louts". It is a disgustingly racist article and I am surprised they are allowed to publish it. I hope that their site gets pulled as this kind of coverage is truly offensive. (read more)

I can't believe anyone would pay money for this magazine - it is full of rubbish. The A-Z resort guide seems like it was written in the 80s, the front covers seem to be chosen by someone with no taste whatsoever. It is stuffed full of things regurgitated from press releases, has fashion that is out of date and why do they have a section of pages just printing mountain photos that they have just lifted from a ski resort's press pack? What a disaster! (read more)

Good resort reports, appears honest/accurate. But little equipment reports and not much boarding cover. Good read, particularly the critical sections, resort cover exceptional, appears to be international magazine. (read more)

What disgrace, whoever says they like this magazine is good is either lying or never read. Just try and find a copy and see it for yourself. That's if you can find a copy because this is like a ghost magazine these days, not sold anywhere

This books been knocking around on and off for years so you would have thought it would have improved by now. It's the publishing equivelent of seeing an old photo of your Dad in 1970s flares and looking like 118 man. I looks like it must be edited by some old chap who throws it together in his bedroom. Rubbish. (read more)

This is out dated. I suspect half of these articles are written by people who have not been to the resorts in the last ten years. The design is so old fashioned and I am surprised anyone buys it. What a waste of money! (read more)
