    Good Points: Super Slim, Dual Hinged, good for usual desktop standing or for wall mounting

    General comments: I finally had the opportunity to buy a TFT Flat Panel Display and after reading many, many reviews found that the Samsung SyncMaster 172T was the one for me. I wanted something affordable and professional, and got exactly that.

    Gone are the days when my old chunky monitor took up half of my desk space. The design is ultra slim, ultra stylish and ultra sexy (in the mundane world of computers anyway!).

    The actual thickness of the TFT from front to back is no more than one inch. A dramatic change from conventional monitors.

    As a Photographer and Designer who uses programs such as PhotoShop, Flash, Illustrator etc. I needed a better than excellent image quality. This TFT has excellent image quality. I have had no problems whatsoever with regards to dot pitch, which was one of the things I feared when I decided to buy a TFT. Dot pitch being the space in between each and every individual pixel that make up the screen.

    Also, as someone who spends a fair amount of time in front of the screen, the fact that the TFT reduces eye strain is very beneficial, mostly because there is zero flicker on a TFT.

    I was lucky to purchase it at more than £60 less than the advertised price on many websites. On a visit to ebay, a company was auctioning the very TFT because it hand been returned unopened by a customer due to paint being spilt on the box. Their loss = my gain. I got the TFT for £330. The RRP is £395.

    One other point that I would like to add is that I have occasionally viewed DVD movies on the TFT and while playing DVDs through a PC is not my preferred choice, I have to say that the image playback is very good. This is also something to keep in mind as the TFT is VESA wall mountable.

    This TFT is suitable for both the business user and home user. It is simple to install with a clear on screen display, (brightness, contrast etc) and has excellent image quality.

    In all, I have been very happy with my purchase, and would recommend buying this TFT, especially if you are design aware and looking for something professional.
