General comments: Have now got so fed up with the thing that I returned it to John Lewis for a full refund and bought a cheapo.

Better to buy a cheaper fryer even if it only lasts a year then just replace it with a new one. Mine has been to local engineer who replaced element as it was cooking 20 deg above setting and has also been back to Magimix to have hook adjusted. Still not satisfactory. Don't buy one !!!

I bought this Deep Fat Fryer from www.Magimix-spares.co.uk and it arrived in 4 days,very excited at purchase and when opened was pleasantly surprised. It really was as good as they say it would be, the chips tasted like proper chips without the soggy bits.The deep fryer is highly recommended.
