Excellent gun very accurate and consistently powerfull, if you want to make it harder hitting put a motorbike wheel spacer in with the spring easy to do if you have a mate help push down on the barrel. i shot a pigeon in the back of the head at 20m and it pushed its eye out of the socket along with half it brain

After hearing all the good things about this cometa fenix 400 in .22. I purchased mine while ago mainly for hunting.
Cometa fenix 400 .22 is probably the only few rifles that actually can do better then their factory claims. this rifle is doing 825+ fps with RWS superdoom (14.3 gr) .
The accuracy is very good, in 15 meters, shooting into one hole is easy.
Very well balanced, i also fit ultrafire touch onto the scope and sling that make night hunt for possum every easy. love this rifle.
If ...

Ok.got into my head that i wanted a rifle.on going to my local shop i seen there most common rifle was the cometa. after reading all these reviews i decided to purchase one. First proper morning i went out, shot a rabbit dead at about 25 yards, on inspecting the rabbit the pellet had went right through and made a fair size exit hole!! i was very impressed.wasnt to impressed with my flailing accuracy until i bought a tin of crosman power pell pointed tips.lubed them up and begun firing and was hit ...

This is a very powerful gun, and therefore closing the spring requires some effort.
Th sights are more than adequate, but for those who prefer a scope, there are mounting grooves. Some pellet selection may improve accuracy, but this is usually a personal preference.

Benchrest accuracy with Nikko Stirling AirKing 3-9x42 scope and Gamo Pro magnum .22 pellets, gives 5 shot grouping of about 10 mm diameter per 10 metres. That is, 10mm group at 10 m

It looks great - what a finish!
The Cometa Fenix 400 .22 is an excellent air rifle, and at 18 ft lbs, a rabbit doesn't stand a chance!!

The Cometa 400 was a surprise birthday present last year. Two days later I added a Luger 4X32 scope and I think the setup is great. I suppose like all springers you have to learn how to hold it 'just right'. For me this means balancing it in my open left hand and just resting it gently against my shoulder.
In terms of accuracy its very good. Apart from the usual paper targets I've moved from using gambling chips, to beer bottle tops and now small beads which I can hit 3 out of 4 whilst squattin ...

I just bought a Cometa Fenix from Conyers in Blanford. It's my first air rifle. We went shooting today and it's very accurate and can take pheasants out on the first hit.

Well I bought the Cometa Fenix on 04/02/04 from J S Ramsbottom, West Yorks UK. I bought the rifle as a knock about rifle, I was going for a BSA but the walnut stock and genaral looks and price turned me. I mostly use it for target shooting down my club and formal FT.
After a while with wild shots I suspected that the spring was not doing its job so decided fit a OX Kasu spring ! Not as simple as one would expect after cutting off 4 coils and some fileing and emery cloth to reduce the diamete ...

I brought the Cometa Fenix 400 .22 2 years ago and went straight to the farm and killed 9 rabbits, each with one shot from at least 20-25 meters away. I think this is very accurate and cheap for the quality of the gun and would highly recommend this to any one who's looking for a powerful, accurate and cheap air rifle. This has a perfect finish to it. Great gun overall.

I Bought the Cometa Fenix 400 .22 for $399 NZ. Brought it home and began shooting over 25 meters which is the length of my "range" in my house. Started shooting at targets on a 16mm thick board but immediately found I'd underestimated the hit power of the gun. Went straight through! After some fiddling with the sights I found it easy to get fairly good groupings, certainly good enough to ensure a head shot on a rabbit or possum at say 20 meters or so. Had the odd flyer but that's just a problem ...

For those of you who want to find out more about Cometa Fenix 400, please also check for RWS 94, where you can find considerably more reviews. It is one and the same gun, made by same manufacturer, just sold in the US by RWS under RWS-94 name.

I have recently purchased a Cometa Fenix 400 .22 and it is a great gun. I got a deal done which also included a quality Korean scope fitted onto some well made local optic ramps/bindings.
I should state now that I am not going to be reveiwing this gun as an off-hand shooter who couldn't care less about his equiptment. (Keep this in mind if you are just a casul shooter)
Only the best pellets are worth shooting through high powered, primarily hunting air rifles like the cometa 400. I primarily u ...

The Cometa Fenix is turning out to be another excellent buy.
The Cometa I have purchased has a stock made of spanish walnut, which is quite something to look at.
The trigger gard, tigger and front sight are made of plastic. The trigger is adjustable,as is the rear sight.
Now some people may not like plastic, but I think this means three less things to rust.
They look like they are well made, and you would have to be pretty careliss to break any of them.
The Cometa has a muzzle velocity of 825fp ...
