    Good Points: Convenient to buy.

    Bad Points: Dangerous for pet

General comments: Both my cats developed a skin irritation resembling a chemical burn at the application site. I washed the product off about 36 hours after putting it on. Since then I have learned from my vet and online that thousands of other kitties have not been so lucky as to escape with a burn and a couple of traumatic washings. This product can damage the nervous system; thousands of cats have had seizures and died.

After applying Hartz 4-in-one flea and tick preventative to my cats, they suffered severe irritation at the site of application. They also became visibly mentally unstable. I had to take them to the vet the next day. The vet had seen other cases of this happening with Hartz flea products. A bit of internet research turns up a great number of cases similar to, or even worse than mine. Please benefit from my mistake and avoid this product!

Pay a visit to google and search for Hartz dead cat. Read and weep.

This product does NOT contain the same drug as Advantage or Frontline. It contains a pesticide used to kill ticks. It's the same pesticide that's diluted in flea and tick sprays.
The pesticide is a NEUROTOXIN to cats.

I put this on my 2 cats and they started shaking and were really scared. Both nearly died but the vet was able to save them with muscle relaxants and anti-seizure drugs.
    Don't use this product. ...

I purchased Hartz Flea Spot On, by Hartz, only to find that this product, as is the other products distributed by the Hartz people, to be not only useless, but an aggravation to both the pet as well as the owner.
