Have 2 Springers (Sprockers actually) - father and daughter - great dogs. But the Dad constantly wants to poo on walks - after the first 5 efforts there is usually nothing there - sometimes forcing fluid...really irritating for me, always aware that I need to collect whatever - partic when others are around although I know he's often doing nothing. He also gets occasional inflammation. Tilly is just rather 'runny' (sorry!). Decided to investigate - both been on Bakers since birth - found this site - so decided to change their diet (actually something called Wagg)....after just 10 days UNBELIEVABLE! Harvey has a couple of 'drops' now - and that's it - and Tilly (who tends to use the garden) - is "Solid As A Rock". Since learnt that a local petstore refuses to stock Bakers and our dog walker also says its like feeding them MacMuck. You have been warned!!

Contrary to the experience of others my two Irish Setters are doing really well on Bakers If we're talking hyperactive we're talking Irish Setters...my oldest one ..just 3 years old was extremely hyper on James Wellbeloved had dandruff on Pro Plan ate sticks and drank copious amounts of water on Skinners ..so I guess its what suits really

My belguim shep has been on it for 4 years and my female german shep for a year, we used to describe them as hyperactive nut cases cause that just what they were. It was only a chance comment from a friend that made me look into the bakers i had been feeding them and instantly decided to wean them off it and go onto james wellbeloved, the boy dog had been on it at kenels when we rescued him and he showed no signs of aggression there but had become very unpredicatble in last couple of years. I ha ...

I have had Roties for over 25 years and this is the first time i have tried bakers dog food. Oh my God my little darling truned into a little monster. She was so hyperactive that i had trouble keeping up with her. She was also doing very large poo's which tells me that there was no nutrtion in the food at all.
Chamged her diet now to Wainwrights and what a change in my Rottie"

I first gave my puppy bakers complete puppy food as he really enjoyed it once he tasted at my mums, I always struggled getting him to eat the more healthier none additive dry dog foods, i noticed he was acting hyper in the evenings which was odd because had grown out of his mad puppy stage were he ran laps around the living room, I took him off bakers complete and this went away and i tried again to get him to eat the healthier food.

This hyper behaviour was confirmed when i gave in again and b ...

Looking through these reviews, I guess it's very much down to the individual dog, as obviously they're all different.
I have just started feeding bakers puppy to my new springer spaniel pup (14 weeks old) and bakers senior to my 12 year old mongrel. The mongrel is bomb proof and will happily eat anything he is given with very little effect on him, Bakers seems to suit him fine so I will continue to give it him as it's a reasonable price. However the puppy is having continually loose stools altho ...

I have rottwilers, the dog has had problems in the past with gasroeniatus, massive vet bills to sort him out. I changed his diet onto Bakers Complete Dog Food and have never had any problems. He has a great shinny coat and so does my other dog.

i dont see anything wrong in giving my dog, Bakers! He's a Siberian Husky, so he's an active breed anyway! The only reason he has this, is because i have tried him on the pro plan, science plan (from the vets) and iams, and he doesnt like them foods as its all one flavour. my husky is a very fussy eater and only eats when he wants to, so he's not eating enough to make him hyper active!!

i have worked at pets at home now for 12 years so me and the team know our stuff especially on nutrition... and i can say bakers is rubbish please please do not even attempt to give this stuff to your dog!! its like giving your dog Mcdonalds every day!! your dog will not get any goodness out of it. if you want a good food to give to your dog that will improve any sort of skin problem, joints, brighter eyes, stronger teeth, better coat, firmer stools etc then go for a food called Wainwrights bri ...

I have used Bakers Complete Dog Food for over 10 years now with my Bearded Collie and now with my Boarder Collie both of which love it. Not sure about most of these other comment slating this food but each to their own I suppose. I've never noticed any of my dogs being anymore hyperactive than their breed would suggest. I used the senior for my Beardie in his latter days which helped enormously with his digestion and the fact he lived till he was 16 tells me their aint much wrong with this food.

Bakers Complete Dog Food is cheap, synthetic rubbish food. Might as well feed your dog Macdonalds than this over processed rubbish.

Bakers Complete Dog Food has no important vitamins or extracts, like Glucosamine or chondroitin sulphate, which for those of who are not aware helps reduce the chance of serious hip displacer and other joint problems in big dogs e.g. Labrador, German Sheppard's. Very HIGH E Numbers that can cause behavior problems.

I've been studying Dog nutrition for a while now and Bakers is one of the worst dog foods I've come across

I changed my 12 year old border collie to Bakers Complete Dog Food a few months ago. She stared to have bowel problems quite soon afterwards. Put her on rice and egg, after it cleared up back on Bakers the same happened again and again. She was also hyper and anxious. Rescued an english Mastiff, put her on Bakers at the same time. She became hyper active etc. Checked the feed bag and realised that the E numbers, especially the colourants, known to affect children were there in abundance. Why ...

Made my dog hyper and he just would not do as he was told. He was fed on Hll's science plan which he loved but then my friend told me about bakers, how her dogs loved it and it was much cheaper. so i tried it, never again! his glossy coat disappeared, he started getting really hyper, and even growled at me once which he'd never done before. I'm a professional dog behaviourist but i could not control him when he was like this. i changed him straight back onto hill's science plan and he's back to ...

I find it very hard to tell what I am feeding my dog. Suggest you try a food that contains at least 20% meat, not derivatives, in the complete contents and vitamin A of 20,000 ui/kg. Read the label on the bag!

i have three old English mastiffs which weigh between them 37 stone, my vet recommended this food due to having every thing in it you need to keep your dog healthy. but did tell me off for feeding the dogs with other foods such as meat as it up sets the balance in the dog. i find it to be perfect and good for the coat as well as the well being of the dog, so if some find it not to their likening it could be the owner not the food. bakers 100/00 IF YOU FEED IT AS IT SAYS ON THE BAG? i find it wor ...

I have fed both my dogs Bakers Complete Dog Food for 14 years and have just got another puppy and am definitely going to continue to use it as I have not had any problems with it. Idris is a 14 yr old Springer Spaniel, Jess is a 13 yr old Jack russel and Scruffy is a 3 month old Collie. I don't understand some of these reviews.

I feed my dog Bakers complete and she has no wind, tummy or hyperactivity problems on it at all, she did however have big problems on Wagg with wind and a bad tummy. My dogs pups are on Bakers puppy and again there are no problems. Having read the boxes I can't see anything wrong with what is in it. Each to their own but I like Bakers for my dogs.
