Bought the Evo 8's at a great price although I understand they have been replaced with Evo2's. No problem with that as they are worth every penny and compare with much, much more expensive models. Very surprised by how they handle female vocals at high volume and are surprisingly clear. The mids are well balanced and the bass is pretty good with little to no colouration. I have incorporated the EVO 8 into my home theatre with Richter 10" subwoofer. I may just use these as rears as well. I... (read more)

i was looking to upgrade my current speaker set-up and had a chance to hear a Wharfedale Pacific Evo 40 and Evo 8. I was impressed and immediately bought a pair of each. Once I had set-up, I was doubly amazed at the clarity and depth of listening to Susan Wong's The Look of Love. You could hear Wong's voice and breathe into each words in the song, The musicality and sound quality was superb. The Evo8 gave the singer's voice center stage with the Evo40 supplementing the power of the singer's... (read more)

Nice punching bass, mid and high are incredible, even nautilus tweeter cant compare to this one, try epcot tempestry of dream cd, you will love the sound of it clear and smooth, no distortion at all.
i truly recommend this speakers it is affordable for the price and i believe they are better than B&W 685 that cost like 600 a pair.

I just bought a pair of Wharfedale EVO 30s. Upon taking them out of the box I was struck with just how deep the speakers were (almost 16 inches in a 35 in. tall speaker). I liked the veneer, my diamond 8s werent a real wood veneer and I prefer the real veneer by quite a bit. They come with a good mini-stand to keep the speaker off of the floor and even had little plastic feet for the metal spikes to save flooring. After setting them up though, these niceties slipped into the back of my... (read more)

I have my new evo 8 for one month now, and I am very happy with it. They have great design and damn punchy sound. Bass is tight and strong, and vocals are soft and warm. I use it with Arcam diva 82 player and Rotel ra 1060 amp and I must say that I am very pleased with this combination. Anyways, evo's have a nice fluid sound, great for any kinds of music. You must try it! (read more)

I am not sure if you are even still looking at this site for responses but I am buying a pair of evo 30s for my system and I am wondering if you have seen them in black. I haven't but the rest of my speakers are black and I was hoping you might let me know how this veneer compares to the maple and rosewood in the evo.
