Despite slight trepidation, having lens replacement surgery has transformed my life. The process was quick, painless and recovery amazingly fast. The staff in the clinics were very professional and listened to my concerns and offered reassuring words of confident comfort throughout. I would recommend this to those who like me wore glasses all the time as it really will feel like you've broken free.

Had lasik with wavefront last August and after being a little sceptical all I can say is "fantastic". Procedure was completed in 10-15 mins pain free and the results amazing.

You were extremely lucky. This is a very risky procedure and Optimax have ruined many lives.

Optimax - Milton Keynes - All I can say is EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE! I had been thinking about laser eye surgery for sometime and did quite a lot of research into different types, venues, etc; I rang/contacted several companies, some never bothered to reply or some were quite offhand. I decided to choose Optimax because on my initial phone call they came across as knowledgeable, professional and courteous. I attended my initial appointment and was very impressed with they way I was handled by everyone from start to finish. It was a smooth process and nothing was any trouble for the staff and no questions went unanswered. I attended the clinic on the day of the procedure and 2.5 hours later I was on my way home, no fuss no bother and treated extremely well by all the staff once again. The surgeon was very kind as were the staff in the procedure room. No-one at any time made me feel uncomfortable and the whole experience has been a pleasure. I have attended 2 follow-up appointments so far and the service has been as always second to none and truly professional, efficient and friendly service has been given by all. I could not be happier and a quote I'm sure they hear at the clinic all the time "I should have done it years ago".

I would highly recommend optimax. On my first visit they did some tests and explained how things work with the procedure and aftercare. I was extremely excited all I wanted to do was get to get rid of the hideous glasses I've been wearing since the age of 5. On the day of my surgery the surgeon explained the procedure in details and said that if I'm not sure about it I could do the research then comeback, there and then I knew this amazing team of optometrist, the surgeon and nurses where not just after my money. I decided to go ahead and have it done, my vision was blurry for about half hour then I was able to see. Since then the amount of aftercare I have received is absolutely phenomenal. I would say go for it, I would 100% recommend. I've had Lasek By the way.

Had laser eye surgery here in November 2012. Was very nervous and was not sure whether it was going to be beneficial but not being able to see use to annoy me so much I thought I would take the risk! Turned out to be the best thing I have ever done and wish I had it done sooner (I'm only 23) I would recommend this treatment to anyone - I had Lasik. I have not worn glasses since. My eyes were bloodshot for a few weeks after but it was worth it for how they are now. I searched through many of these sites before trying to make my decision too. I know lots of people who have had it done and would all recommend Optimax for the treatment. Stop worrying and go for it :)

It is highly irresponsible of you to recommend laser surgery to anyone. You may feel you have been okay so far but that does not mean that others who read this would not be. Laser surgery is extremely dangerous and thousands are suffering.

And like everyone else, just wish I did it earlier. I waited until I was through with pregnancy and hormone changes etc, my eyes were pretty consistent on prescription and I felt like they've been doing it long enough now to be well practised and technology has improved! I searched through the forums and reviews and found nothing scary or worrying (about LASIK anyway). LASEK sounds like quite a different ball game and far more painful and scary. I went with Optimax (in Reading, Feb 2012) as compared to the main competitor they didn't seem pushy or too "Salesy". They had a fixed price which was a good offer and no haggling was necessary, same price for everyone. Their staff on the phone could answer all my questions without any vague assurances, it's all in black and white. I had LASIK Intralase Wavefront - the latest technology. The whole procedure was calm and as easy as you could expect. I felt the machinery coming down on my eye was uncomfortable but not for long. The laser in my eye was fine although I was just worried about keeping still enough (I hear in the States and Canada you can be sedated which I think is a really good idea if you're of a nervous disposition). But I obviously did okay. Once the flaps were back in place I knew I could see, and afterwards, I spotted my husbands car number plate pass by out the window when waiting for pick up. I just couldn't barely keep them open for the streaming!! That part wasn't nice and it was uncomfortable but still not hugely painful. About 6 hours later I could keep my eyes open with less streaming but still felt better closed. After a night's sleep they were almost normal, just needed the drops to keep them moist and had to go to bed early for extra sleep. I did find that a sleep in the middle of the day (for a couple of weeks) helped rejuvenate them too. I don't feel like I could have gone back to work for about a week but only because I am on the computer solidly and in an air conditioned office. I drove the day after treatment and had the problem with night vision. I used the drops for about 3 months cutting down gradually. As it turns out my left eye isn't quite 20 20 but it still passes the driving standard and if I want to I can have an additional treatment to improve it for free before Optimax discharge me. I have to say their Customer Service has been brilliant. I have no complaints. No glasses! Just need to decide whether to bother going for an upgrade or not!

i had laser correction treatment at the Birmingham branch of Optimax in June 2006. I had the gold treatment, where the flap is cut by laser and eye reshaped by the laser. The treatment was completely painless, only horrible bit is the smell of your burning eye ball. All over and done with in ten to fifteen minutes.
it's been 3 1/2 years since i had it done, and at my last eye test I was -0.25, which is amazing considering before the treatment I was about -6.25. You soon get to take it for granted again.
It's just fantastic not having to think about where your glasses are, or putting contacts in.
In regards to the treatment, I had it done in the morning, slept the afternoon away, and was fine by next morning, the only thing was the light sensivity for about a month afterward. I was wearing sun glasses inside, a looked like a right berk at work sat in front of my vdu with sun glasses on!
Optimax were nothing but professional. Had consultation with the consultant who carried out the op to advise whether i was suitable for treatment, and once i decided to go ahead, i just called up for an appointment for the treatment. Had after care check up appointments also.

Had my eyes 'done' in Feb 2006 with Optimax. Customer service I would rate as very good and the treatment itself was undertaken with care but not a drawn out process. I received the Epi-Lasik treatment for my eyes so the downside to this is that recovery is around 1 week (as oppossed to 24 hours with Lasek). The first 2 days after surgery were a nightmare - swollen eyes, constantly streaming even at night and acute pain. Also extreme light sensitivity, where even looking at the back light of my mobile phone caused extreme discomfort. However, Optimax equipped me with pain killers and eye drops which helped immensly. After the initial 24-48 hours, things improved rapidly and I was able to send/read text messages on my mobile! I would definitely recommend this surgery procedure, but do as I did and do your homework/research beforehand. Good luck!
