I am extremely sad and dissapointed regarding my recent flight experience with Olympic Air and the ground service management of the problems. I planned a holiday in Milos. The return flight from Milos to Athens on 8.09 was delayed 1.45, for that reason I missed the connection to Bucharest. I was told to go the Olympic Air ticket desk and there they told me that there was no place for flight in that day, no place for flight for the morning flight of Olympic to Bucharest for the next day... Olympic ruined our Silver wedding Anniversary trip. All 3 flight legs were a disaster. Offloaded 3 times despite booking and paying 6 months ahed.
Baggage delayed 60 hours within Greece - hey knew it was left behind but no attempt to move it and till many compalaints from many passenegers.

Recently flew from London Heathrow to Athens on Olympic Airlines. This was the first time I've travelled using this airline, and was pleasantly surprised.
The flight was on time, so no problems there. The staff were friendly and polite, and seemed to be looking after their passengers with ease.
The aircraft itself was very nice! The seats surprisingly made you feel like you were travelling premium economy, or even business class... lots of leg room!
The food was pretty good, nothing... (read more)

Although I am greek I had bad experience in the past with OA. Besides the great safety, everything else was quite disappointing. But the new OA is really great. On time, friendly stewardesses, brand new aircrafts and of course some of the best pilots in Europe. Since my first trip with the new OA, I decided to fly with them whenever possible. I hope that the new company (after the merge OA with Aegean Airlines) will be even better (and still inexpensive) (read more)

I went to Greece for xmas and I was really suprised with the 'new' Olympic.Forget the previous one!Flight was on time, food excellent as always, the cabin staff friendly and young and the landing was perfect. The airplane was a brand new A320 and was very confortable.I hope to extend their routes because now Olympic has very limited routes compared to the previous one.Keep working ! We are a family of 4 (2 adults, one child 8 years old and one baby 8 months old)and had a return flight Athens - Amsterdam. The planes were new, but there is no in flight entertainement at all and nothing for the children to keep them occupied. No baby food was provided and no one from the attendants (who were generally polite) asked if we would need anything for the baby etc. Not a bad experience in general, but it could be much much better. Flight not by Olympic but Athens Airways and I would avoid them for the time as everything is changing and the aircraft we travelled on was old, tired and fault ridden. The cabin lights continually flashed off and on, seat mountings had either broken or missing plastic covers and worrying bolts stuck out at knee level. Life jackets hung free under the seats and the toilet smelled high right from the start, in flight movie without earphones, announcements, apart from the pilot were pijin... (read more)

Plane did not show up at all. No explanation was given. No information on how to leave the island to meet up with connecting flights. Told next 7 days booked solid so we could all have another weeks holidays! Everyone missed their connecting flights and it cost us £500 to get to Athens. A one-off? Are you joking? Exactly the same thing on the same route with Olympic Airlines happened to us last year. Be warned!! (read more)

Booked flights for Greece for my honeymoon 3 months in advance on Expedia. 3 weeks prior to departure, Olympic Airlines Athens Mykonos leg changed without notice, contacted Expedia who contacted Olympic, was on hold for two hours waiting for a resolution from Olympic. Having taken a chance on Olympic I am glad we did as both the flight and the service were great. I had read the reviews on this site with interest before we left and being a nervous flyer was dreading the experience. However I was pleased to find that my worries were not warranted as the flight was on time, smooth and far better than imagined.

I went through all the reviews before I added mine. Recently I was on an OA flight from Manchester to Athens return, and I must say that I enjoyed it. How many airlines now days offer nice meals on a "in Europe" flight? Only 2 that I am aware off, Olympic and Checz. That it. All other offer you a bad quality sandwich or mixed salad, coffee and water. And you pay even more.
The only downside of the story is that FAS could be more friendly (yet there were not bad but could do better) and... (read more)

This airline is really poor and whenever possible I try to use Agean. We had a problem with a cancelled flight due to bad weather from one of the islands back to Athens. They told us to come back in 2 days. Yes, really - 2 days. This has to be the worst national airline I have ever been on. I was travelling from Heathrow to Athens and back and I had a completely mediocre flight. It was Easyjet standard for British Airways money and to be honest I wished I had paid the extra £40 to travel with them. I think that because they monopolize the Greek market they stopped paying attention to what the customer wants. My advice; pay extra and travel BA or make your plans more flexible and fly Aegean. Dubai to Rome via Athens & return with Olympic Airlines. Every flight started late. Service generally indifferent - not as cheery and engaging as most. Food was different - but slow coming on the return flight. FA's not very 'present' - ie served and then disappeared! Both flights had limited in-flight entertainment (headphones and ceiling screens). Amusing to see the greek travelogue on the way HOME from Greece! and the "in-flight calisthenics" clip was run about 30 minutes out from landing... (read more)

I would recommend booking with Aegean Air for service in and around Greece. Olympic makes all U.S. airlines look great from every angle. This was the most confused and disorganized airline I have ever had the misfortune of flying. I also felt that the planes were not the cleanest nor the best maintained. This includes all the airplanes I have flown on in both Central and South America....and that is saying something. (read more)

I strongly urge everyone to avoid this airline. Businesses that are this badly run with such a complete disregard for their customers do not deserve to exist.

Olympic are a good airline, definitely one of the best airlines to use if you want to go to Greece. Their food is unrivalled. The entertainment is good - on the return from Athens we had an A340-300, one of Olympics largest planes, and that plane had seat back video screens.
They are great value for money - we went to Crete in a family of 5, and it costed about £250 pp, but if we had booked with British Airways it would of costed double the price. (read more)

When I go to Greece I always fly with Olympic Airlines (Brussels - Athens) because it's a good airline! I flew 4 flights in 2 weeks with Olympic. 3 flights delayed by up to 3 hours. Fourth flight cancelled altogether. We were given seats on a flight leaving two and a half hours later but were not told it was going to Heathrow rather than our original destination to Gatwick. My Olympic Airlines flight was OA 175 from Athens to Munich with a 30 minute stop in Thessaloniki. The flight was on time and the crew was very helpful. After flying from Los Angeles - Paris - Athens. We got on a turbo-prop plane that should have been grounded thirty years ago. Olympic Airlines is the Greyhound Bus line of Greek air flight.
The planes are small, the seats uncomfortable but most disturbing the flight crew was rude and unaccommodating. My first experience with the airline began with my flight arriving over an hour late to the gate. There were never any announcements made explaining the situation. As a result, I missed my connecting flight to Mykonos. Having travelled abroad in the past and frequently across the U.S.A, I was quite surprised that as we... (read more)
