I used their trail membership and cancelled it after that. My credit card is still being billed $2.99/mo. for almost every year. When I tried to check this with my online account, it says that I don't have an account any more, yet they still charge my credit care $2.99 every month. Like another writer says: their 30 days trail is not free. It's a trap. Once you're in, they'll charge you as much as you can. After many calls, I was finally able to dispute this with the customer service... (read more)

I have used american greetings for many years now and highly recommend. They have a nice selection of cards to choose from with many different sending options, including sending to cell phones, which is pretty neat. My new favorite is the talking cards where you can add your own text and choose a voice. My grandchildren absolutely adore these. I love getting responses from all my friends and family after a holiday, they all just love them! It's really such a nice way to keep in touch and... (read more)

I joined American Greetings right before Christmas (started a free trial). I was disappointed by the cards, the constant advertisements and canceled my subscription approximately 7-8 days later. Now almost 6 months have gone by and I am still being charged every month by this company! Phoning this company is a joke. They have an automated phone system giving you a number of options, none of which is talking with a customer service representative. When the system decides that it has answered... (read more)

Although you can join online, you must CALL them to cancel your membership. You must call during office hours, which is difficult for those who work. I will demand a refund of my recent charge. I sent an e-mail recently saying I did not want to renew, got charged anyway because I did not call. (read more)

This is absolutely the biggest scam!!!! Avoid at all costs. First they make it almost impossible to unsubscribe and stop the automatic withdraws. Their free trial is actually not free and once the month is up they will charge you from the start of the free trial. second the e-card is filled with advertisements and completely unprofessional. Why can't I assign zero stars? (!) American greetings AND Microft can rot!
On Oct 31, I accepted an offer for a 30-day money back trial offer. I cancelled the service three days later by phone (because they require you to cancel by phone). When the charge was not credited, I spoke to "Tiffany", who said, "we DID cancel your service, but you did not ask for a refund" (!!!!!) What I did say is, "now I am cancelling withing the 30-day period so I will not be charged, right?" Woman...

Why do they always mess up a good thing.

Just like a lot of other people, I signed up for the free card. I cancelled my account after 2 days of the free trial, yet was billed for a year membership. After arguing with them or an hour, I said screw i, just cancel my account now. Here I am a year later, billed again. I have disputed the charge with my bank this time to get my money refunded. Biggest scam company ever. This site did nothing but try to hijack my home page and crash my Internet Explorer.
Do not install this as it will wreck your operation of your computer. The company executives need to be locked up for this scam. If you want Trojan viruses install this program. I am still trying to get rid of their garbage.

In 2006 I also gave credit card information to get a free card from American Greetings MSN Ecard. I never sent another card after that free one. When the charge showed up I canceled it but of course could not get a refund for that year because I called after the charge appeared. Surprise, the next year I was charged again! Since I carry a balance on the credit card for an advancement I received I didn't notice the charge. I quit receiving paper statements so when it appeared again for... (read more)

This is basically a scam. You can sign up online, you can change your address or credit card information online. But they will not let you cancel your account online for "security reasons". You have to call a 1-800 number and fight with the retarded automated answering system. (It kept asking for my phone number even though I had not given a phone number when I originally signed up.) I too have been ripped off yet again by AMERICAN GREETINGS MSN ECARDS. I must have given my info for the free card, and now for the 2nd year in a row they have stolen $16.94 from my account. I tried to get it cancelled last year, and thought I was successful, only to check my account today and see they pirated money out of my account yet again, for services I have NEVER USED! My bank tells me JPMORGAN CHASE is their bank and by calling them I can obtain a phone number for A.G. Here is the... (read more)

If I could rate it LESS than one star I would!
One might not think website customer service is all that important on an ecard site, but on AmericanGreetings.com it's necessity.
That's because it's required to sign up for a 'free' trial in order to send any of the halfway decent cards, but--oops--the trial's only 14 days and--oops--now it's charged to your credit card and it NON-REFUNDABLE!
Isn't that lovely....
And, if even one chooses (willingly) to have/keep their membership, just...

I too purchased two packages (8 each) of baby shower invitations depicting a giraffe, elephant and monkey from Target. This design requires printing party information on small sheets of vellum. After searching for the template on american greetings website, I finally found it, entered my information, but I was frustrated that my standard HP printer did not like the small sheets of vellum provided with the invitation. Four small rectangles of vellum are provided with a perforation down the... (read more)

Yahoo american greetings plays about when I try to cancel my membership. First of all, finding how to cancel membership is hidden and on-line cancelation is not allowed. I have waited 20 minutes on the phone and after connection I had to go thru another 10 minutes sales pitch.
I am so disappointed at yahoo and I will not subscribe anything at yahoo.
