“Dangerous cot/terrible quality and service”

I Purchased a cot from mothercare a few month's ago as believed would be prefect and safe for the new addition to the family. On trying to put the cot up my partner cut his hands on the bars and then noticed that bits of wood had not been sanded down. When complaining they made me feel like it was because I was not happy not that the product was unsafe and their error. After a week of waiting in for our goods to be delivered were still no nearer recieveing them! You'll be told lie after lie, they take your money then leave you like a dead dog in the road... “Shocking customer service!”

Ordered a changing station over a month ago, assured that it would be delivered in 4 working days, well we are still waiting for it, have rang mothercare at least 6 times on a premium rate number to be fobbed off that order will certainly be delivered on at least 2 different days! “Voluntary administration!! ”

Mothercare has gone into voluntary administration. I put a deposit down for a car seat and now they will not give me the car seat or my deposit back! Don't shop there as if you want to return something it's likely they won't let you. What a joke! (read more)

Went to Edmonton store for 1st time in over a year having been a regular when my kids were small - What a change staff greeted me as I arrived the layout was beautiful the old tree was now a space ship. There were little areas for my son to play upstairs and there was even a little show in the parent centre? For mothers and toddlers - Well Done Mothercare I hope you get a return on your investment! “Mothercare- This mattress is for babies?”

This is a review about the Sung Moses basket that I recently purchased. The basket itself is fine. It's one of the better baskets that I've found, sturdy, easy to carry and fits into a smaller room nicely. However the mattress that Mothercare provided with this Moses basket was covered in waterproof plastic. Ordered a baby plan back in August. Arranged delivery for 3/12/12 and was told thAt we would receive a call to confirm delivery of our items ten days prior to delivery. “Helpfully Polite and Tidy”

I was extremely pleased by the politeness of all the staff; I was greeted at the door by a young gentleman and was offered a basket :). Your security guard was very helpful as he directed me to the lift as the items I needed was in the lower ground. The store is very tidy, clean, bright and colourful. “Store is helpful, but home delivery service is hit or miss”

In store the staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly. They are not well stocked with different sizes of bras though, so I've never gone in and found what I was intending to buy, and I'd say my size is not that unusual. Similarly clothes seem to be OK if you're of a larger build, but smaller sizes not in stock. Home delivery - what a nightmare. We have a large store in Torquay and I have to say that we now avoid our local independent baby shop as the service we received from Mothercare was beyond Excellent. We had a few problems with our pram so we went in store and asked for a different pram. We knew that we we're pushing our luck as they only really needed to often us a replacement or repair. “Rude patronising staff with horrendous customer service”

We bought a My4 travel system from the local Mothercare branch and 3 weeks after my daughter was born the handle on the chassis broke. I took it back to the branch where the Manager pushed and pulled until the handle again moved up and down (she at no point told me that I could have the chassis replaced as it was within the 28 day replacemrt guarentee). For the first time ever I've put a full basket of shopping down and left a shop. We went to mothercare in the hope of picking up essentials two days after a difficult birth, and found the experience shocking. Baby was smaller than anticipated and mum needed nursing bras and we were expecting there to be staff to help. I had ordered a buggy and carry cot in june 2012 to arrive on september 2012 the delicery driver had turned up only to deliver half of my order. What sort of service is this? “Online ordering and delivery don't bother!”

Ordered a full set of bedroom furniture for my son. Arrived home one day to find a card saying that I had missed the delivery and that it was the second attempt so I had to pick it up from the depot. “Customer service second to none!”

We have used mothercare a number of times and have found the employees to be the best in any retail shop I have ever been in, always polite, friendly and helpful. This is the same over the phone. One product ordered online had a fault and the supplier (not mothercare) was not answering the phone when I called, however the second I spoke to motercare customer service they were amazing, I didn't have o make anymore phoe calls, they dealt with the problem and the parts we needed replacing... Ordered a Petite Star Zia X pushchair in the pink fizz design for my daughter. I couldn't wait to receive it as my Silver Cross was well used and we needed an upgrade. Ordered a set which consisted of cot, wardrobe and chest of drawers to be delivered today (27/7/12) was told in the shop when we ordered that the delivery time would be between 8am and 5:30pm. We would receive a text saying a more accurate time. At 2pm my husband rang Mothercare to double check order was coming. We were told it was on the van. I ordered some items online and they claim that I should receive my items after 4 working days. They said that I will receive a message on my phone when my order is dispatched. Following this I phone the store and explained, rather than cancelling the order only to reorder, they refunded me the 10%. The Zapp was in store at £199, with a further £19.99 off. I bought a silver cross stroller in Feb 2012 and was given the 2 year guarentee. I took it back today cause it has a bad squeak and the front wheels keep sticking and was told it had to go back to silver cross to be looked at. It's only 4 months old!!!! They never gave me the opinion of a replacement just send it away and gave me a dirty one that was falling apart to use while it was being repaired, I think this is discusting, I will never buy a pushchair from them again. “Incompetence rarely witnessed in the modern world”

We bought a pram and Tripp trapp from MC. Both came with the wrong attachments and they couldn't do anything to fix the problem. A mistake that cost us over 200 pounds - the money got spent with Mamas and Papas (who have been fantastic). Mistakes like this make mother care very very bad value for money. (read more)

I ordered "extra soft" Bambino Mio muslin squares on Mothercare online store. The order details were amended by hand and the colour was changed to lilac instead of plain white. Not only I got sent the wrong colour for my baby boy, the material was very rough. To return the item I would have been required to pay for the postage. I had also used my old credit card which I already cancelled within the time they took to deliver so I was unable to get a refund. (read more)

I like mothercare stores, the quality of their clothes is nice and they are reasonably priced. I have placed an order 26 days ago (I was billed immediately) and am yet to receive it. There is no phone number of their customer services and I receive no reply on my messages that I've left via their contact form online. Please do not shop here. Although my experience of store purchases at mothercare are generally ok their online ordering service is dismal.Dont ever order for instore collection because the goods never arrive on time if at all.Staff seem stressed and unhelpful and they never ring you back.I will never order online from them again and its no wonder their business is in trouble. We started a baby plan in november 2011. We paid it off in january 2012 and thought great, all we have to do is wait for it to be delivered. I waited in all day for it to be delivered and it never turned up. Did u get your delivery?

I have had the same problem! We bought our pram, car seat and crib at the start of the year on the baby plan so that we could delay the delivery. When mothercare called to confirm our delivery date I did find it odd the guy I spoke to was almost jittery and worried about speaking to me - now I know why! He knew nothing would turn up!

I was first told the base to my car seat was delayed by a few days which I wasn't too worried about as I have another 4 weeks till baby arrives. I waited in all day yesterday (10/04/12) for nothing to arrive! I called customer service at 10.30am to find out when my delivery would arrive only to be told they didn't know but they did advise who there courier was and gave me tracking numbers so that I could check it online myself. I checked it regularly all day and nothing had left the depot! At 4.30pm I checked again and 2 of my 5 parcels had been loaded for delivery at 12.44pm yet I still didn't have them. I callers customer service again only to be told my parcels had been split and I would only get 2 today. I was furious as I had waiting in all day and have no days free for the rest of the week to wait in. I was told to re-arrange a time myself with the courier for the 3 parcels that's weren't coming but the other 2 would arrive. It also sounded like this is a common issue with the courier based on what the person at customer services told me.

In the end nothing turned up!!! So a day wasted for no reason! Another call to customer services tomorrow to try and find out if I will be delivered the items I've paid for!! I am furious and disgusted at there terrible delivery service, not what you need at 36 weeks pregnant with hormones flying!

Although I've got this issue the customer service people have been polite and helpful to an extend but it sounds like they have no control over it either! They have said they will discuss a goodwill gesture once everything arrives but I don't know if this will happen or not!

I had to ring customer services again the following morning as the person i had spoken to didn't get back to me, like they said they would. The lady i spoke to that time was great again and sorted the problem out. I think it only got sorted though as i gave them an option, i said i was happy to go to my local mothercare store and collect the same item if they had one instock and then my delivery to be redirected to the store to replace the one i got. I collected the travel system from the store who where very apologetic for the mistake even though it wasn't there fault.

I got home and a few hours later my original travel system arrived by the courier people even though it had the re-direction notice on the box. The delivery man was very rude and un-helpful and said he couldn't take it to the store as it wasn't on his route, even though he had to drive right by the store to get back to the depot.

I rejected the delivery and haven't heard anything since so im assuming the couriers have sorted it themselves.

With regards to a good will gesture, i was also told the same and my travel system arrived almost a week ago and i haven't heard a thing, so im not holding out much hope for that really.

Ordered goods on 31st January, on 1st feb seen on "my account" that the items had been dispatched via supplier. A week later the items had not yet arrived so e-mailed customer services. Got a reply saying that the items would be with me up to 10 working days after dispatch. I waited and still nothing. Having ordered online to collect in store, and received an email saying "...your order will be ready to collect on 27th February...", we went to the store to be told by an unhelpful manager that it could arrive anytime up to 6pm... but the store is only open to 6pm, so do we have to camp out? After buying a buggy from Mothercare the brake became faulty within a couple of months. I was advised by the manufacturer to return this to Mothercare and it would be repaired under warranty and a loan buggy would be available for me.
