I am 100% satisfied with the service at my local Lidl in Hawick. I always shop at Lidl first and get the remaining items they don't stock elsewhere. I think the quality of produce is generally excellent, for example my partner told me he much preferred Lidl's yoghurt to the M&S ones I bought last week. I also love the special offers....quirky they may be but I have found some real bargains over the years!
My kids were over the moon to find a Lidl in Crete that was set out like the Hawick store and had the same choc ice lollies (Magnum equivalent) as at home! Keeping them frozen in Crete was more of an issue than Scotland mind you!!!
Best of all, the staff are cheerful and friendly! The girl who served me tonight chatted away whilst putting my shopping through the checkout and wished me a very Happy Christmas. This was contrasted with the girl in Morrisons who grunted her acknowledgement of me then proceeded to either eye up some young blokes who happened to be passing or converse about the woes in her love life with her neighbouring colleague.
    Lidl is tops every time!

I am fortunate in having easy access to several supermarkets, Lidl being an exception, their nearest store is about 10 miles from where I live, but I like many of their lines, the prices are good and when I am passing I will pop in and do a shop, I had attended a meeting and was wearing a really good mohair suit when I decided to pop in to their Colwyn Bay store to buy some salami and look at their special offers, unfortunately I snagged my jacket on some racking.

I expected to be fobbed of, bu ...

Lidl absolutely rocks! The food is always of a very good quality and I have had SOOOO much fun with the weed burner we purchased there a few weeks ago - it lights wood fires, barbecues and burns weeds as well - an organic way to keep the patio clear! Well done Lidl!

I think that Lidl is really good for it's price. Most things are much cheaper than you get in other shops, like 1 can of coke is 25p and you can get a bar fo chocolate for 33p.

I walked into a Lidl about four years ago and instantly fell in love with it. They sell bulk items on cut down prices and their staff is extremely efficient and helpful.

I go to the Lidl store near me and I get a few things, it is a very good store, the freezers are very well stacked and the fruit and veg is awesome!
shame they do not have baskets, and although they do not have much advertising and glamour, it is still my supermarket, I like Iceland and Tesco to,

The value for money is outstanding considering they offer brand items. Today I bought many items including mussels in white wine sauce, fresh orange juice (not concentrate), steak pie, black bags and fresh veg/fruit for £13. I don't buy into the need for a 'good' atmosphere when I shop, if anything these unnecessary comforts allow for unchecked spending.

I now wont shop anywhere else, highest quality of items on offer at the cheapest prices.

I normally shop at Lidl in Sydenham high street or Penge new store in London South east. Although the staff manners have improved in view of employing new people, who are very kind and more helpful than previous staff, the layout of the store still lets a lot to be desired. Few items, which I used to buy every week have disappeared from their range of products and no one knows why. Food prices have gone up although other stores are doing their best to reduce them. I also found last week that the ...

Some staff in my local Lidl were unable to answer my questions and I did not like the atmosphere in the store. Recently the shelves were empty of bread and when asked why, one staff member said it was in the back but did not offer to get me any. I think they are lacking in this area compared to Tesco and Netto and they need to improve on getting more staff onto the tills to keep customers happy. I will not be shopping there again.

Overall Lidl is very good. Reductions of 30% is great for OAP's like me. Great value. Staff in Store at Poole are friendly efficient and helpful.

    Alphington/Marsh Barton Exeter branch.

I visit Lidl's about once every couple of months, just to see what they have on offer. It is certainly not my first choice of supermarket, but occasionally I have found the odd brand name bargain. I have risked buying things by an unknown name but have mostly been disappointed with the quality. Avoid their frozen chicken pies (unless you have someone coming to tea who you don't like!), they are the worst we have ever tasted! I now just stick to purchasin ...

Their Germany stores are better, with a better choice of products and friendlier staff.

Lidl could change the cold meats range from time to time, and get rid of that rubbish English food. You can get that anywhere else in the UK.

Food is good at Lidl and in many cases, very cheap. Don't park there though if you can avoid it! Received £90 fine for apparently overstaying the 1.5 hour limit by 10 minutes. This is incredibly harsh and leaves one with an enormous amount of ill feeling towards Lidl, not to mention the parasitic organisations involved with the issuing of these penalties. Would it be too much to expect a 30 minute grace period, at least, say? I shall be boycotting this store in future!

While most staff in stores bend over backwards to be helpful, the staff in the Lidl store in Ashton are unfortunately very unhelpful. We consider the produce excellent value for money, but the nearest store (after Ashton-under-Lyne) is Chadderton, and the journey would not be cost effective. We have used the store often, but perhaps the staff trainer should be poached from Aldi. We have spread the word far and wide regarding Lidl goods. Great goods shame about the staff.

Like other customers, I go to Lidl first, and then I go on to Sainsburys or Waitrose to finish off. Nearly all of the Lidl products which I have tried are of excellent quality and to my taste.

Whilst I understand that to keep prices down they have to cut the frills - there are times when a quick service till would be a good idea. I alternate between Lidl & Aldi and am getting to understand that they are good for different things. Lidl - good for granary bread, pasta, (Italian) pasta sauces, sausages & bacon, olive oil, cheese and cooked meats. Cleaning products & washing-up liquid - my cleaner hasn't complained yet!
If you were on holiday in Europe - a lot of these food products wo ...
