Good Points: Not many that I could comment on!

Bad Points: Long queues at the check outs . Running out of bread.

General comments: Some staff in my local Lidl were unable to answer my questions and I did not like the atmosphere in the store. Recently the shelves were empty of bread and when asked why, one staff member said it was in the back but did not offer to get me any. I think they are lacking in this area compared to Tesco and Netto and they need to improve on getting more staff onto the tills to keep customers happy. I will not be shopping there again.

Overall Lidl is very good. Reductions of 30% is great for OAP's like me. Great value. Staff in Store at Poole are friendly efficient and helpful.

Alphington/Marsh Barton Exeter branch. I visit Lidl's about once every couple of months, just to see what they have on offer. It is certainly not my first choice of supermarket, but occasionally I have found the odd brand name bargain. I have risked buying things by an unknown name but have mostly been disappointed with the quality. Avoid their frozen chicken pies (unless you have someone coming to tea who you don't like!), they are the worst we have ever tasted! I now just stick to purchasin ...

Their Germany stores are better, with a better choice of products and friendlier staff. Lidl could change the cold meats range from time to time, and get rid of that rubbish English food. You can get that anywhere else in the UK.

Food is good at Lidl and in many cases, very cheap. Don't park there though if you can avoid it! Received £90 fine for apparently overstaying the 1.5 hour limit by 10 minutes. This is incredibly harsh and leaves one with an enormous amount of ill feeling towards Lidl, not to mention the parasitic organisations involved with the issuing of these penalties. Would it be too much to expect a 30 minute grace period, at least, say? I shall be boycotting this store in future!

While most staff in stores bend over backwards to be helpful, the staff in the Lidl store in Ashton are unfortunately very unhelpful. We consider the produce excellent value for money, but the nearest store (after Ashton-under-Lyne) is Chadderton, and the journey would not be cost effective. We have used the store often, but perhaps the staff trainer should be poached from Aldi. We have spread the word far and wide regarding Lidl goods. Great goods shame about the staff.

Like other customers, I go to Lidl first, and then I go on to Sainsburys or Waitrose to finish off. Nearly all of the Lidl products which I have tried are of excellent quality and to my taste.

Whilst I understand that to keep prices down they have to cut the frills - there are times when a quick service till would be a good idea. I alternate between Lidl & Aldi and am getting to understand that they are good for different things. Lidl - good for granary bread, pasta, (Italian) pasta sauces, sausages & bacon, olive oil, cheese and cooked meats. Cleaning products & washing-up liquid - my cleaner hasn't complained yet! If you were on holiday in Europe - a lot of these food products wo ...

I had been shopping at the Lidl supermarket a few times, and the only things that I have found good is wine, as it is usually the cheapest that you can find in England. Last time that I was shopping there I had just come back from Scotland, and I have mostly Scottish pounds on me. I offered to the person at the till twenty Scottish pounds for paying for my goods and she refused to take the money as she has never seen it before. After I insisted she asked her supervisor; even the supervisor was s ...

Had to write a review on this after seeing some hilarious ones written, I think at the end of the day you get what you pay for, but with Lidl you still get quality, the one near me in Chichester is very good, as for the person who says there is no cafe toilets etc... they should try F&M or Harrods, I go to Lidl, Sainsburys then onto Tesco if I can't find what I wanted and occasional go to Waitrose if in Egham, as for the snobbery about Lidl, it is still very high but I park my Mercedes, BMW, or ...

Overall Lidl is worth the effort of being made to feel a nuisance, as the goods are cheap and good quality. I think perhaps the way the customers get treated is down to the way the staff are trained (or not) and if they upped their training to include asking the assistants to smile and even help packing a bag occasionally it would be a super place to shop. I continue to shop due to the fun of the middle aisles which offer amazing bargains in electrical goods, otherwise I would go next door to ...

For people who don't rely on branded products or convenience food Lidl is a great place to shop. They often have 50% off fruit and veg, the range and quality is superb, but even regular prices are much cheaper than the bigger stores. Excellent quality too, staples like rice and pasta are well priced. Not a big range, exotic groceries, spices are llimited. Good range of cooked meats.

A third party handles warranties on Lidl goods and it's impossible to get through to them. Tried for several hours but never got past the computer-controlled operator. When I contacted the Lidl help line, as expected I was greeted very politely and offered a refund immediately, as I say I cannot fault the Lidl service, but I bought the product because I needed it and not to get my money back after five weeks. Unfortunately goods do fail from time to time and I believe I was just unfortuna ...

Went to buy a car radio advertised in Lidl's paper. Got there three minutes after the shop opened and all 12 radios they had to sell had been sold. Don't like being misled into thinking something will be available for sale when they had very few of the items and it is purely a gimick to get you over the door. Very misleading and I am not happy!

Lidl is brilliant. High quality products sold at a very good price. They may not be the cheapest shop you've ever been in, but the quality of the products and size of packages makes up for that. The shops are clean and well maintained-the carparks are the same. The staff are friendly without being a pest, and the till operators are careful with the stuff you've bought. You have to buy your own carriers/bring your own bags-but the carriers are only 3p each. Just be careful you can carry all yo ...

I have learned to shop at Lidl's for specific items. Due to lack of variety I find I can't do a whole shop but can certainly pick up some excellent bargains. Anything with chocolate on it is absolutely marvellous. They make a box of continental biscuits which are exactly the same at Aldi's (same selection and price) for £1.99 and they are mouth-watering. They certainly look impressive on the plate! Also packaged premium ham is very good value and lean as well. Their smoked salmon beat ...
