Bad Points: everything
General comments: During my one night stay at Bristol Central Travelodge, I had to move rooms twice due to the carpets in the bedroom being absolutely sodden, there was no apology from staff, and their lack of concern for their guests was just absolutely appalling, when I finally got to the third room, the state of the walls resembled a child's colouring book

Arrived at Whytleaf at 1AM with my family to be told my booked paid for and confirmed room was not available. Offered a room half an hour away in Croydon. It took 6 weeks of letters and calls to finally get costs from customer services. No apology or goodwill gesture.

Would definitely stay here again - despite the expensive car parking! Beautiful place - lovely quality buildings and shops - very "upmarket" feel to the place - lots of history - good parks with wide open spaces. The Montpellier quarter was picturesque with twinkly lights on the trees, which looked lovely after darkness had fallen. Lots of good cosmopolitan eateries around which catered for all tastes.

The bedrooms were very clean and felt "well maintained". The travelodge in situated by a roundabout at which five roads converge. The road noise throughout the night was considerable. It was situated approx 1.5 miles from Skipton, which was OK if you weren't carrying a lot of shopping and were able to walk that far. We enjoyed the stay, but the road noise during the night was not good.

We tried to book on their site the same period and got a confirmation of visa that it was ok but instead of a confirmation number we got 5 times a message that says payment declined. We would like to find out why their system seems not to work but their call centre can only say we must contact customer service which seems not to react on e-mails.

Dirty quilt that was replaced with another dirty one. TV didn't work properly. Dodgy light fittings. No pub or breakfast available. You have to pay a pound for some rubbish shampoo out of a vending machine... etc....etc. I will never use them again and would not recomend them.

I travel regularly with work and I will never again stay in a travel lodge hotel. The team in Perth should be ashamed.

Good points, reasonable price/ central location/ clean. Bad points, all, ignoring fact not expensive - depressing place to stay (although even expensive hotels often are), bed uncomfortable, breakfast passable. Well if you get the room for up to £45 a night ok value.

I was unable to close the blind fully because of a design fault which meant the sun was glaring in during the morning. The doors are designed such that they slam extremely loudly, metal on metal (the lock onto the frame). I intended to sleep through to 11am (Sunday) as the whole point of going was to go out the previous night. I was unable to remain asleep from about 7am, constantly being woken again and again by the slamming of these incredibly badly designed doors. I won't be staying there aga ...

Cancelled reservation online. Was still charged. Now they are telling me I never cancelled and refuse to refund my money. I would recommend that you do not cancel online.

Cancelled under Insurance but no Refund yet.
Booked 14/9/08, but cancelled within 2 hours because of change of plan, promised Refund of £91 within 5 working days, but no refund as at 23/9/08, just a Credit Note on the Travelodge website, no other information, E-Mails will be answered within 10 days, they say. A change of management is urgently needed as customers are treated badly.

Our stay at the Travelodge in Grants, New Mexico was a tragedy.
We were a party of 25 five with multiple rooms booked which amplified all of the problems! One room had a leaky toilet, when we return at the end of a long day, discovered the toilet had been removed and put in the shower. No note, had not relocated us, did not comp our room.Reservations were screwed up, so our whole group had to wait in the small hotel lobby for over an hour after traveling 10 hours! Then, the woman checking us in h ...

Friendly receptionist who did try his best. Taps that would not turn off. In the first room we were given, the tap would not turn off at all! Also, no coffee or tea etc had been put in that room. In the second room we were given (as a replacement) the taps were very hard to totally turn off. Towels were also slung on the side of the bath and did not seem to be very fresh. Insufficient bedding provided for those in our room so had to ask for more. Mildew around the bath and the tiles looke ...

I have booked two family rooms for the 18th Oct at Gatwick, we had to change the dates of our holiday to the 11th Oct. The next day I rang up to amend my booking, (thought it would be easy), how hard to amend a booking? I was told as I had booked a saver room, you could only amend if same price room, I was willing to pay the extra for both rooms and a late checkout price, for both rooms. But they wouldn't do it they said email customer services, I did but I had no reply. Ten days later email ag ...

Made a booking via their website, it modified my dates in the booking process without me noticing. Tried to immediately cancel only to be told "No availability on your new date, won't transfer you to another hotel and you lose your money if you cancel". Needless to say I have raised a case with consumer direct as I believe they are in breach of consumer rights.... 'right to cancel' and 'written confirmation of booking'. So at present... I am £85 down and not even stayed there!!.

We stayed for one night at the Brentwood East Lodge. Although we complained at the time no manager was available, but we were promised a phone call from someone to discuss our complaint within 3 days. That phone call never came. I allowed 7 days for them to contact me before emailing customer services. I've not yet had a reply. I have now contacted them 3 times by email, same response each time.

I have stayed in many travelodges over the years but have noticed a deterioration in recent years. In particular the 2 most recent visits to Southwaites and Todhills were very noticeable for their run down general appearance. The bathroom at Todhills had a cracked sink and the bathroom at Southwaites had a leaking cold water tap and the exterior was spoiled by neglected garden area. It is a great pity that the standards have dropped so far and it is unlikely that I shall be using travelodges in ...

Friendly welcome and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable and well furnished room. Own car-parking. A pleasant and comfortable stay at Washington A1 Northbound. Up to the standards we have experienced in the past at other Travelodges

We booked a room for Aug 2nd in Kelowna 3 weeks ago. When we arrived there, the attendant told us it was booked on Oct 2nd. And said unless she saw our confirmation letter she would not just "kick someone out". And that was absolutely ridiculous since we booked via phone and never receive any confirmation letters from them.
