I dont know how Travelodge do it, but this is not the first time we have found body hair in the bed sheets and very dirty kettle etc... Hygene is in need of being looked at. How do they get away with it? Ive reported this same complaint to travel lodge in the past & have given different branches every chance for a sign of improvememnt, but this ones worse than ever. Pulled a spare pillow down from the rack only to find a very large yellow sticky stain on it. Dirty spoon fell out of spare sheets. Hairs in the bed & around bathroom. cracks in interior walls & a bathroom mirror thats losing its backing & looks absolutely shabby. The kettle is so dirty we felt sick. I wonder where is Travellodge going? What are their future plans? Over the years the whole set up has deteriorated & seems that no one is striving for improvement.
I think this is the last time we will stay in one. Ive seen better standard of hygene in poorer countries & for less of a cost.

Having read reviews on this hotel before me and my husband went this week I was a little worried as this travelodge got some negative reviews. But I really enjoyed my stay there. We had a double room which was massive and very clean the only down side was the carpet which looked like it could have done with a good deep clean to get the stains out. Location was good only 5 min walk from Haymarket Train station and 10/20 min walk to centre of Edinburgh. Didn't really have much contact with sta ...- Read Louiseleeds's review (115 words)

On education course locally. Paid in advance for 8 nights. First night- bed old, sagging, hardly slept also constant flashing of fire detector which is just above the bed in all rooms. Asked to change rooms the following day- shown a room that stank of smoke- third choice was right next to noisy outside airconditioning unit- stood it for one night. Had to return home due to family bereavement- had booked for 8 nights but had to leave after 3- now finding it very difficult to get a refund for th ...- Read Guest's review (113 words)

We were slightly worried about staying at this Travelodge due to past reviews, but must say we were pleasantly surprised.
We were after budget accommodation on the outskirts of London to make it easy to commute to the big smoke the following day. This accommodation was perfect for that reason. The Travelodge is based in the centre of Watford, just 10 minutes walk from Watford Junction train station - perfect!
Past reviews detailed how noisey the evenings were with groups of youngsters maki ...- Read Guest's review (270 words)

Clean but dated rooms. The continental breakfast provided sour milk both mornings and no cream for coffee. Cereal was stale. I really liked the location as it was close to everything we wanted. For the price, I should have booked a better room and paid the higher price. You only get what you pay for. Would never recommend this place.- Read mitchk9j's review (60 words)

Room was basic, there was alot of traffic noise from the dual carriageway outside, this was continuous even through the night. We found this Travelodge hard to find as the postcode would not register on our sat nav. We had a room for three people with only one bath towel and one hand towel in the room, we ask for more towels at reception which was no problem, the receptionist was friendly. The Little Chef was adjacent to the hotel where we had breakfast the following morning. We would recommend ...- Read Guest's review (103 words)

Hotel needs updating, $175 room, bed was big and the tub was big, but poor set up, looked old, the heating system was extremely loud. I just stayed at a way nicer hotel, for half the price a week ago.- Read Guest's review (39 words)

This location has had some bad reviews, however the rooms have been redone with new beds and carpet. There was no unpleasant smells, water pressure was good, over all condition is very good.- Read Guest's review (33 words)

This Travel Lodge is basically run down, dirty, in need of maintenance and redecoration. When we arrived at 1300 we asked if we could leave our bags in the room and were told that the room was ready for us but if we wanted the key before 1500 it would cost us an extra 10 pounds, is this really customer service at it's best.
Parking cost 5 pound for every 24 hours and you get the feeling that your car is secure because of all the cctv cameras, don't be fooled the cameras are there but not workin ...- Read Maxnellie's review (218 words)

I would never stay or recommend Travelodge to anyone. The place was run down, the room was not cleaned. I noticed behind the door in the bathroom there where hairs and they were not from anyones head. Also, the food was nasty! They always ran out of everything, even coffee. The front desk employees snapped at us when we asked them questions. I guess the price for the room was reasonable but you get what you paid for. Dirty and rude. Never again will i stay there!- Read Guest's review (87 words)

I wrote about my experience where i booked for a date and when i got to the hotel they claimed i booked for a date that had passed a few days earlier, conveniently...
thus meaning i had to pay up to £201 out of a strangers kind pocket to find alternative meals and accommodation.
I have had several replies back basically stating that despite the small mounting of complaints regarding their poorly coded and maintained website that they were not able to replicate the issues and provide m ...- Read Guest's review (227 words)

Having booked and paid for two rooms on 24/08/09, for an overnight stay for the 03/10/09, we arrived at the hotel to be advised that they only had one room available, as it is a first come first serve basis, they had another room available in a hotel 6 miles away, as we were out with friends for the day and evening, this was not acceptable to us, bearing in mind they have had my money since 24 August. We had spent the day at Stoke by Nayland Golf Club and Spa, therefore were in need of a shower ...- Read Guest's review (181 words)

I don't think my standards are too high and I know Travelodge is relatively cheap, but I don't expect to see mildewey shower curtains, ceilings, mouldy windows and net curtains and prehistoric furniture. I felt conscious that while the room was surface cleaned regularly, it needed a regular deep clean and proper attention - especially in areas which were clearly never cleaned. I was very keen to get out of the room, it made my skin crawl.
The accomodation was also in need of updating and the ...- Read Guest's review (154 words)

HALKYN TRAVELODGE RE DISBLED ROOM and PARKING
I am walking disabled with a breathing problem and need medication if I walk too far.
I had booked in advance a disabled room.
The disabled parking space (one only) was occupied by a couple in a double room. Reception checked and they said they had a disabled car badge.
I had to park about 10 cars away from the entrance and the distance I had to walk caused me great distress.
Travelodge replied to my letter briefly stating :
"We would like to confi ...- Read Guest's review (188 words)

I had booked a room at Travelodge for 25th staying until 26th, When i got there, there was an issue where the room apparently was booked for 23rd. The staff had the attitude where they couldn't have cared less despite me having evidence and despite the fact i hadn't checked in on 23rd but was standing there on 25th!!!
They then proceeded to give a brand new room to a customer because 1 wall socket wasn't working out of 6 wall sockets, right in front of me, The receptionist at this point treated ...- Read Guest's review (254 words)

I visited the travelodge in hatfield central and stayed for a few nights. It is absolutely horrendous, customer service was horrible, fire alarm went off at 2am and all they said was, some drunk guy set it off.The most appalling part was in the morning i got to my car and someone had obviously broken my taillights deliberately,i went to the reception and told the receptionist, who went on and said "So?What do you expect me,us to do?What do you want me to do?"(in a very arrogant and non challant tone) ...- Read Guest's review (121 words)
