I also used to shop at Jane Norman regularly and sometimes had to force myself to walk by as I knew I would end up buying something. Obviously not such a problem now as the Scottish branches have closed but I did consider buying from their online shop as have done before. However, that was until my last purchase of jeans. Firstly, I bought them in 2 colours. I assumed that they would both be the same as they were same style and size only different colours. However the black ones were ok... (read more)

I used to love Jane Norman, I would shop in there every week but not anymore. The quality of their clothes has really gone down hill. Since the change of ownership of Jane Norman, the quality of its materials and the workmanships are absolutely not worth the sale value of the items. Very very poor indeed. I have to say that I pretty much always shop online at Jane Norman. The closest store to me is in Luton and that's in Debenhams. I haven't been there in a while but from what I remember it was always a bit cramped up, but that's due to lack of space really. I really enjoy Jane Norman clothing mainly for the reason that is well-designed and cut, very suitable for pear shaped figures while other mainstream fashion shops insist on flared camisoles which make us pear-shapes look fat (but I just can't find any nice fitted items elsewhere at affordable prices!)

After reading this review i thought i must comment too. I love Jane Norman shopping, however everytime i visit the Jane Norman in Luton Debenhams - I absolutely hate it. The reason for this is the staff that work there are extremely rude, arrogant, no smiles and think they own the whole of Debenhams. Jane Norman is a popular clothing store aimed at women aged 18-25. What I love about Jane Norman is the presentation of the store, they always fit outfits together very well, and I usually end up buying the bag that was temptingly placed next to the dress it matches so well.

Hi There,
I agree and disagree with your review. firstly I agree that Jane Norman's clothing is excellent and they have a very nice range, I go in there quite a lot as I have a few Jane Norman outfits. However I do disagree with what you said about the age range 18-25, I myself am 34 years old and I CERTAINLY DON'T look like a trollop in my Jane Norman outfits and I'm a size 16 as well, I look stunning in all my outfits so you don't have to be a skinny size 10 and wear make up etc to look good in Jane Norman clothing.

Whenever I shop for clothes, I ask the returns policy and they truthfully tell me. It is then up to me whether I purchase the items or not, and invariably I do. If I was to shop at a store and the staff barked out the returns policy at the till, I would be slightly put off - talking about returning the item when I am only just purchasing it? Since customers seem to have a problem maintaining eye contact with the staff (and then complain that it's the other way round - HA!) your eyes should swimmingly see the returns sign which is placed at every till point in every store. (TOPSHOP, River Island, Oasis and Warehouse included.) If you can't afford it, don't assume every store policy is the same. My guess is that staff are not legally bound to tell you anything, so don't cry into cyberspace when you lose your money.

I disagree with the person above. Most knitwear bobbles really easily at Jane Norman and their head office tell the stores that pilling isn't a refundable problem-however, if you look at what it is made out of-this is the reason why it bobbles so badly! reasonable quality cut and finish.
Poor quality fabics comensurate with lower costs and young buyers who change their wardrobe regularly.
Too expensive for the quality of fabrics, I would pay a LITTLE more for silk and good quality silk/linen mixes.
Store layout seems to change very frequently which is confusing.

It is not fair to give Jane Norman a bad review because you did not keep the receipt of your purchase and wanted to return it.

<br/>People have clothing hanging around for long and change their mind about whether they like it or not. People also buy clothing with tags on via eBay then try taking it back to the store to get money for it or exchanging it for something else they want.
