Stunning, full of activities, accomadation fantastic, loved the stay. I would definately recommend it to other families, especially those with children. We were there a week and didn't get bored once. I loved the children's options there. As adults we could book our children into the football or the Snorkelling for 2 hours or so and go off and do what ever we wanted. Amazing service, there are a HUGE range of eating options from American to Italian to Asain and we loved our Culinary... (read more)

The main disappointment that spoilt our visit to Elveden was how cold the sub tropical area was. The pool was not too cold but the air temperature was freezing. We had to leave the pool with the children as they were shivering and being under 2 we felt it was too cold for them to stay. We have been a year before and it was lovely and warm. We raised this but were told it as -5 c outside and this maybe the reason but have seen a number of reviews and it seems there is a problem at elveden... (read more)

I've been going for 20 years now I have stayed there about 24 times fabulous place wonderful staff customer services at Head Office really lovely people. I have spent loads there and had some of the most fabulous times in our lives. Twice I went in the first week in July it was so hot it was like St Tropez. You cannot fault this place in any one iota. The facilities, the staff, the villas, the food, the ambiance, is second to none for a UK break. This is quality and comfort at a decent... (read more)

The only gripe I have with Centre Parcs in the price. It is pricey to go there, but when you're there you can fortunately forget that! Elvedon in Suffolk is not the closest park to us, but we were recommended it because my mother struggles with her bike at Whinfell (because of the hills) and on that basis Elvedon is great. The park is very flat and set around a lovely lake with an island in the middle (sporting a mini golf course). We hired a deluxe villa (with hot tub) and were not... (read more)

accommodation was disgusting. The floor was dirty as was the furniture, full of dogs hairs and crumbs behind the cushions. We spent the first hour cleaning. On leaving and checking under the beds my husband found a dirty pair of knickers that did not belong to any of my family. On the Friday evening we booked for a Sunday carvery at 5pm. We turned up only to be told that they had sold out. I pointed out that the menu stated roast dinners were served until 9pm only to be told this was a... (read more)

Had a good time but one major let down. Center Parcs is usually our yearly choice of holiday visit but sadly because of the vindictive nature of the cleaning staff we will think several times about going back. We had overall a good time. However when we arrived the accommodation was damp smelly and filthy. We were housed in Maple 526 as a weekend break on 23/9/11. On the Friday we arrived, we noticed the carpet was filthy so we vaccummed, but as we were cleaning we noticed popcorn and food... (read more)

Thank you for your post.
I must say that I am very surprised to read your comments relating to the Housekeepers responsible for villa 526. I have sent a copy of your review to the Housekeeping and General Manager's at Elveden Forest so that this matter can be immediately addressed.
I cannot apologise enough for your poor experience and we would welcome the opportunity to talk to you directly regarding this.
I genuinely hope that you will consider making contact.
Kind regards

Dear All
Yes I must say I am suprised too Ive been there 24 times and this is not the norm.
The guest services team are highly professional and will deal with your problem quite fairly and kindly.
This is a superlative outfit, they do have problems, but they are so professional they deal with them quickly.
Customer Services is their number 1 area I would be fully confident in allowing them too intervene here, you cannot go wrong really: They are a great holiday company:

Self catering cabins [reminds me of boys quarters] which are sheltered from view by trees - they look pretty basic from the outside; . The inside is quite nice and clean, not as big as the pictures suggest on the website of course but they are not poky. WE stayed in a 3 bed executive lodge at Elveden as the newer style ones didnt have enough bathrooms. The villa was a good size and the bedrooms were a good size too with the baby cot in our room and still plenty of room to move around, ensuite to all rooms only prob was that the rear room backed onto next doors patio so was a bit noisy for our lil un. We spent a long weekend at Center Parcs to celebrate my boyfriends sisters birthday. Despite the typical British weather of rain, little bit of sunshine and more rain! We had a great time. So glad you, too, enjoyed Center Parcs. We have now been five times with our family (we're Grandparents) and have enjoyed each one. Sherwood is our favourite, though Longleat is much closer to us. Can't fault them, and as you say, they're just right for a 'British' holiday. Long Live the typical British holiday!

This is our third visit to Centerparcs Elvedon and we think it's fab. Everything is very central. Even though we were in the furthest away villas to the village square it was still a six minute walk/three minute cycle. Quite flat and easily travelling too for my dad who uses a stick. The beach at the Lake is always popular with the little people (we liked the pedalos too) and I took my mum up on an aerial adventure trekking through the trees. Hopefully one day she will forgive me! My son... (read more)

So looking forward to our visit to Centre Parcs, after hearing from friends how fab it is. Well it did not disappoint. Completely lovely, even the ducks , geese and goslings tapping on the patio door at 7.30am for breakfast (our fault for practically force feeding them the day before!!). The cheeky squirrel popped into the lounge to see if we'd run out of seed and the deers were breathtaking and so incredibly tame. Our 4yr old was in heaven ! A great place to for a quick getaway, and involves a great array of choices - if you can afford it. We did find we were choosing certain activities over others mainly on price as we'd already spent a fair amount of money booking it. I would have preferred an all inclusive cost which would allow us to have eaten in the restaurants and used various facilities without worrying about spending even more. However, they don't hide costs and the subtropical swimming paradise, which is included, is... (read more)

Lovely photos. Looks and sondus like you had a great time. The villa looks gorgeous!!In the 8 years I've been with my husband we've been to Centre Parcs 7 times! We first took Charles in October/November 2009 when he was 5 months old then whilst we were there booked our next holiday there, in the same villa, four months later! We only go to Longleat even though Elveden is considerably closer. But it is too close to the In Laws so we'd never go.Its so expensive now that this will be the first year we haven't gone. I'm quite gutted. I loved our tradition of going there.

The facilites are amazing. So much choice and places to see you cannot fit it all in, which means you cannot get bored. The animals are tame enough to "pose" for photo's while still being wild enough to make you take care when they appear. We saw, ducks, rabbits, geece and even a deer, moorhens and a peacock. Center Parcs @ Elveden offers a great base for a long weekend or short week. You can do as little or as much as you wish and don't have to be a "sporty" individual to enjoy the facilities. The swimming is free, which is a real bonus for families and the other activities are pretty fair value for money. The restaurants offer a good selection of food but get very busy at peak times so make sure that you book a table ahead of time.

Centerparcs is brilliant. Look at the brochures, check reviews online, read between the lines, decide if you will pay what it costs and go (or not). Other reviewers on here tend to be a little harsh about what it is like, and we will all have a negative aspect or other at some time.
Yes, it is expensive when you are there but you don't have to pay for loads of activities. Walk, run, sit, read, chat, make picnics, ride bikes and enjoy the pool! In the evenings walk some more, see the lights...

Centre Parcs' prices of accommodation dynamically change through out the year. Prices are cheaper in school term times, and dynamically change in school holidays. Activities are deer, limiting the fun.

3rd visit and as always really enjoyed it. However, a real letdown this year was the amount of cars driving round, many of them staff cars or vans not good in dark with kids in tow.
The horse and carriage ride was ok, but not worth the amount they charge as it went up a road and then back down it, did not really live upto the hype online.
Otherwise really enjoyed.

Once again Center Parcs Elvenden has sadly failed to live up to expectations. We were confident that this time would be different given that the concerns we catalogued after a previous visit had supposedly been noted.
