We went on holiday to pontins southport,with my older mum and my two little kids.My kids really loved it they also loved it even when they was in the apartment because it had a sofa in front of the TV and they loved going out at night ! there was so much to do and also my mum loved it to they had bingo on as well they also had a arcade,Queen Victoria and a swimming pool.yes okay the swimming pool wasn't that nice but it wasn't harmful and they have recently updated it anyway .they also had a big skate park so my little boy went on there a number of times i am going again this Easter and summer it was that good ! it is amazing that my two little kids didn't want to go they also learnt some stuff as well because there was these people dressed in animal costumes and one morning there was a breakfast with them so they really did enjoy it i hope this review has made you want to go because it is amazing there also there is a beach down the road....what more could you ask for ?!!!!

We have stayed here 3 times and enjoyed them. We did wonder what to expect on the 1st visit, but our apartments have been clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the bedding was spotless( had not requested sheets etc but found them there anyway). The sofa was a bit lumpy and bumpy but spread a duvet out,problem solved. Had no problem with the kitchen or bathroom (quick air freshner spray even better). The entertainment was good although ear splitting and the carpet was somewhat sticky. The park does need a lot of tlc, paintwork was peeling, windows wouldn't shut, rusty balconies etc. My young grandson had a good time enjoyed the play park, swimming pool, soft play area and arcade. The grass area within the apartments was handy for ball games. We had no problem with noisy neighbours. We were lucky that we had sunny weather on all 3 visits,did not stay in much. Southport is a nice place, we found plenty to do and found some hidden spots. This may not be the creme-de-la-creme for some people but for value for money you can't expect the hilton.

After reading a lot of bad reviews we were dreading going to pontins in southport but once we got there we were surprised, the acomadation was very basic but it was very clean, they are in the middle of doing it up. We had a 1bed apartment with 2 single beds and a sofa bed, the sofa bed was quite unconfortable but we soon sorted that by putting the 2 single beds together and they were both new beds, the bedding was clean and we were close to everything. The beach is 2 minutes around the corner and there is parking on the beach. There is entertainment on every night os the week and the kids loved the childrens entertainment, the pool is big an also has a small pool for babies and small children. Southport town is not far away and there are loads of things to do near by. We had a day out at blackpool which was only an hour away but a really fun day out, we also recomend going to liverpool as its only 10 minutes away to go to the beatles museum as it is really good and easy to find i hope this review helps and put your minds at rest.

when we arrived we thought o my god what have we come to,but when we got o ur keys for the chelate we were glad we upgraded dread to think what the budget were like.the blue coats were brill they never stopped the staff on the site were very polite and couldnt do enough for you.food was cheap and tasted good two my two kids enjoyed it everytime.entertainment was fantastic my three year old daughter never stopped dancing the was loads two do for the kids would go back and recamend to a freind. we got a bargain with the sun deal and southport town was beautiful.

all iam going to say is u get what u pay for !!!!! we arrived on 25th april found out our chalet was not ready we were given a free instant upgrade yes it needs a lick of paint yes it is outdated whilst we were there they were replacing sofa beds and painting..................this type of holiday is what YOU make off it dont go expecting 5 stars if u only paid 40 quid not gonna happen im afraid just go try it for urself

Just got back from a weekend at Pontins Southport and had a great time. After reading the reviews we were expecting to have a terrible holiday and were dreading going.
When we first arrived, we checked in straight away at 2pm and were given our keys and all the information required. We then booked some pgl activites for the children.
When we got to the chalet, yes its basic, but what do you expect for what you pay! After all you're not supposed to spend much time in the chalet, you're on holiday!
There were lots of activites for the children to do ie climbing, abseiling, zipwire, go-karts etc (extra cost) plus they could play mini golf, table tennis or play in the playground for free. Also the beach is right on your doorstep, and Southport is a short drive away!
The night time entertainment is good, especially for the kids, the bluecoats work so hard!
A holiday is what you make it and we had a fab time, so much that our kids, age 11 and 8 were upset that we were leaving and wanted to stay. For me that says it all!!

Just got back and to be truthfull wasn't expecting much after reading the reveiws. Well was very pleaslently surprised!!!! The accomodation was Budget and so was basic, but very clean and had just been decorated. Most of the Chalets have been recently painted and some by us were being decorated while we were there. We only paid £45 but would have paid at least £100 if I had to. Well worth the money, will be going back!!

Pontins Southport.....Hadn't read reviews before booking,so delighted on arrival to find comfortable, clean accommodation in good condition. Considering the cost of our 4 day break we found it exceptionally good value for money, as did my parents, both in their 80's.The bar and restaurant staff were young and lacked training in servingfood and drinks. The entertainment for adults and children alike was poor, far too loud to the point of ear damage.The park lacked facilities for recreation considering it takes approx. 2800 people when full.Overall we had a pleasant restful break,and would reccommend it highly.

Was so worried about going after reading all the reviews. But we stayed there for a week and had a fantastic time. The entertainment was first class. Blue coats are tremendous and do a fab job. Facilities are basic but for what you are paying what do you expect. After reading about the cleanliness, I tood big box of cleaning products which I didn't use as the accommodation was sportless. Enjoyed so much are staying there again next year. At the end of the day you only get from a holiday what you put into it.

I took my children (10 months,6, 12, & 18) to pontins southport and we all had such a fantastic time, we went back 2 weeks later for a second holiday. Yes the budget appartments are hardly the ritz but we didn't book the ritz! we wanted a cheap british holiday in the current financial climate with entertainment day and night plus local attractions and beautiful beaches and thats exactlly what we got.The bluecoat shows were amazing and the reps were friendly and helpful. I'd recommend pontins holidays to anyone who wants all the above.

Just got back from Pontins southport, been twice this year after never going before as we always go abroad,
Cant believe some of the bad reviews! you get what you pay for.
The site isn't modern, but its very close to a lovely beach, there is lots of entertainment for the children and adults alike. The apartments are very basic but they are clean. you do have to pay for the fair, it does not belong to pontins and is £2 a ride, i just told my children that they could only have so many goes and they where happy.
The PGL stuff is great, rock climbing, abseiling, quad bikes etc £5 for 1 hour and 15 Min's!! I think that excellent value.
The pool has separate children's area and is a good size. There is a lovely outdoor play area and an indoor jungle play area for under 8s. The staff are lovely. Even the security staff are really friendly!
All or my children love Pontins and they are very well traveled when it comes to holidays but Pontins is one of there favorites.

Pontins, Southport, is good for wheelchair users
I went on a weekender at the end of May and had a great time. Pontins have 4 adapted chalets with good wheelchair access and bathrooms with roll in showers. My chalet was perfectly well equiped and clean,I managed on my own where I have struggled in some expensive hotels. Some friends found the basic chalets to be a bit too basic but they are cheap so you (mostly) get what you pay for. The site overall has good wheelchair access and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I will be going back.
