Good Points: Entertainment was great every night with friendly helpful bluecoats always entertaining the children right through the day and night unlike haven holiday parks. A wide range of food to choose from at the dunes restaurant every night good deals on drinks and cups for the children too! Mostly everything was high standard!
Bad Points: When we arrived at Pontins we cringed at what we had chosen as a family holiday as the place on first view looks shabby and old fashioned. After spending our first night at the entertainment we fully regretted this as we had a superb time! A lick of paint around the edges is all thats needed here!
General comments: I am only a mid teenager and I went to Pontins Blackpool last year with my mum who is a single parent and two year old sister. As you can imagine it's hard to find a holiday which pleases us all but this we have found in Pontins! There are things to do all through the day for children from my little sisters age right up to teens of my age. The entertainment at night is also like this. A disco and character time for the kids or some kids cabaret then top class cabaret for the older visitors. The bluecoat shows are also top class with some very talented entertainers lighting up the stage! After spending a week there last year we returned for a weekend in October and again for a week this summer 2008. We are now planning to revisit for my little sisters birthday in September! We just can't get enough of Pontins! Some people who have written terrible comments must be looking from the wrong angle! I do agree that its shabby from the outside but the entertainment & the work of the bluecoats who never stop all day completely makes up for it!! I don't know how to write a proper review but i just felt that this would be helpful to anyone who has mixed feelings about Pontins! Look from the right angle, see underneath the shabby exterior into the heart of the centre and love it like i do!! :D x

I was really worried about going to pontins blackpool after some of the reviews that I had seen.
I loved it there it was great, we have booked to go back in 7 weeks time in September and over the new year. We got there to early but we used the facilities and the staff was absolutely lovely and friendly. I went to get my room at 3.30 and even though there was a massive queue they opened it early and got through it surprisingly fast. I was only waiting 5 to 10 mins max and I had my key to my room ...

I took my two children to the Blackpool resort after reading the reviews and have to say we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were all friendly, the food was fresh and had very good selections, the accommodation was warm and clean. There was lots of things to do. As for the aeroplanes I only heard 2 during the day and certainly didn't get me sleep interrupted because of any during the night. It was better than a Haven site we visited last summer.

This is the second time we've gone to Pontins at Blackpool and we find it great value for money. Although the rooms require some work, they are clean and comfortable and the food is what I would describe as 'good school dinners'!
The bluecoats seem endlessly enthusiastic (even when they must be shattered) and the rest of the staff are equally friendly.
This is not a 4 star holiday with gourmet food and nice smelly soaps in the bathroom - this is a basic, family friendly, good old fashioned Blac ...

Daughters comments on approaching Pontins "Dad, we're not stayin there are we ..... its horrible" said it all re initial approach to this run down excuse for a prison camp. If not for the fact that we were there with a party I'd have turned around. Great kids entertainment great family entertainment . Great prizes for comps, my daughter won talent and dancing comp in the past and came a close second in karoke, prize was free holidays. I think that this site wants completely flattening or completely gutting. We Booked into this place on Sunday 23rd December and checked out on Monday 24th December after tea because obviously things werent going to get better!!!! So we took our little boy home to enjoy xmas at home!!!!

Totally a step back in time. Cheap holiday = cheap food, lack of facilities, not suitable for those who have a physical disability. Majority of staff are Eastern European and although they try to be helpful they are busy and language can be a barrier.Canteen/restaurant is akin to a cattle market.If there is a problem on site it is difficult to have it rectified.On a flight path and planes take off at 06.05. Without a doubt Pontins Blackpool is the worst place anybody could want to go to relax and enjoy a holiday, with or without children a complete and absolute waste of money, time, and consideration.

Stayed for Christmas break 2006 at Pontins Blackpool. From guest entering the holiday centre to them leaving the Bluecoats excelled themselves. All day entertainment-right through to way past midnight each and every day. They had an excellent entertainments team. Just got back from a weekend here! There were 4 of us in an interconnecting room. The room was clean and modern, and the bathroom was spotless.
When I arrived at Pontins in Blackpool on the Saturday evening, my 3 pals had been there already for 1 night, so they showed me round. The shower was a bit strange, as you pushed the button it seemed to time out and switch off after around 20 seconds, which was fine, but when you have soap running down your face it is not a good idea!!!!

I have just come back from a weekend in Pontins Blackpool and I had so much fun there. The bluecoats were so much fun to be around! They made our weekend fab!!

We arrived at 2 and, were welcomed by the Bluecoats providing children's entertainment, firstly, we decided to look round, as we had another 2 hours till check in. We looked round The Queen Victoria Pub, the arcade, and Stardust, in Stardust were Bluecoats, singing on stage. Been to Pontins Blackpool twice this year going back tonight can't wait to see all the Bluecoats again. They are just the best people ever. They are friendly, funny and really entertaining!! Roxanne, Charlie, Baby Ben, Johnny, Chris, DJ and the rest of ya, you're all stars!!!
Also the accommodation, shows and venues are fab!!
Another point, even the security staff are very helpful and very nice!!

We normally go abroad but since having children we have been looking for a more child friendly place to go... you've got it spot on... loved the whole weekend. There is so much to do at Pontins in Blackpool and all the staff were very friendly and helpful - the shows were great and there were so many of them. A real treat with so much to do - we thoroughly enjoyed it.

I loved the Bluecoats at Pontins in Blackpool. They are great! Also, the presenter of the shows is really funny! And the DJ, named DJ, is really funny too!
It is really fun, and there is always loads to do! Also, the Pleasure Beach is just down the road, but there isn't any need to leave the complex!

Went to Pontins Blackpool over the weekend and we really enjoyed ourselves. The entertainment especially was absolutely brill!! I am 22yrs old and I even enjoyed the children's entertainment!!
The blue coats were absolutely fab! Well done to the blue coats, love ya all!!!

We are a residential care home, and we took 6 residents and 3 staff to Pontins in Blackpool, and we stayed in 3 double chalets during June/July. It was the first time we had been, and we were very surprised. The chalets, although basic, were very clean and had large bathrooms and TV/Videos. The food was really good, and there was plenty of choice, and the food was of a good standard. Quick service with little or no queues.
