Good Points: Good entertainment, not expensive, nice caravan, decent faciities.

Bad Points: Pool changing rooms not so good especially when with little kids. In the old days there were more free things to do.

General comments: I used to come to Pwllheli as a child when it was Butlins. 20 years later with kids of my own we came back and the biggest difference I could remember was the lack of funfair. Overall the superior caravan was nice & clean (I wasn't expecting the Ritz). Overall we had a great time and the entertainment was good. We would probably avoid peak season and staying in chalets.

There's only two recommendations before booking at this park; 1) do your research (area, facilities, expected neighbours etc.), 2) book the highest spec' accomodation possible and only a caravan or lodge, avoid the chalets and apartments if you have any sense of privacy or cleanliness. That said we had a great time, our 1 year old & 2 year old enjoyed themselves & the caravan was practically brand new & just the right size. There were a few small teething problems on arrival which were sorted ou ...

Overall this site is great, fantastic location, nice but small beach, site has lakeside inn pub with good food, a good chip shop and a burger king, the pool is large but missing a few tiles and in need of paint job, our apartment was very clean when we arrived and in good order, booking in process is a nightmare, having to wait almost 2 hours to collect the keys. As a flagship park I was very dissappointed at the entertainment, mainly game shows, with no live bands or music during our stay, ohh ...

We just got back from hafan y mor after staying there for a week, Although the weather wasn't very cooperative, we enjoyed our stay there. Family consists of 3 adults and 2 kids aged 10 and 2. I was dreading going there after reading some of the reviews about the site but I didn't find anything to prove that other people was saying was true aside from maybe the place needs a bit of repainting or redecorating. We stayed in a caravan for a week and we were at snowdonia view, luckily we were with ...

The broadwalks was really fun and and my kids loved the pool and slides and the food was great. One manager was so damn rude and disrespectful, she was shouting at all her staff, they were rushed of their feet and were trying their best to finish on time. The chalet was very clean spotless in fact but a bit shabby. So the holiday was good in all its just when you meet one member of staff that is so bad it dampens your holiday

Would not go again - ever! Wales was beautiful - the facilities were good, kids aged 11 & 8 loved them but due to the fact tourers were not catered for has put me off ever visiting a Haven site, felt like we were 2nd rate citizens and they were only bothered about the statics. There was a lovely caravan & camping site just up the road, that i wish we had booked into as that looked very nice, but kids wanted the facilities (which were good). Clubs were a bit grotty, so didn't use much, everything ...

The site was very busy, standing room only in the pool if you where lucky. Check in took forever in a long long queue. Not particularly clean and staff not that friendly. We left after two nights, wasn't even offered alternative accommodation or refund. We had been to this site when it was run by Pontins or Butlins can't remember which, but it was much better. All activities free including the fair. All this has gone, just over crowded with caravans. For the price you can find a much better site ...

Got a comment in review from 'dawn exley''holidayed at this park when it changed hands from butlins, we enjoyed the holiday and are thinking of returning this october (school half term) can anyone suggest 'good area' to stay, quite fancy cadair idris behind the pool complex or maybe lakeside just over the bridge, it would be useful to know which show bar, host the rory and bradley funtime shows which is aimed at the under 12s, will it be bonga wonga or the boardwalk?rang hafon y mor, and was tol ...

The swimming pool was brilliant, great crazy golf course which was fairly new, good entertainment, excellent apartment, good arcades, many football courts for enjoyment, campsite activities are good, however many expensive. Not all 3 bars were open every night like brochure said, boating lake man charged more than meant to (meant to be £5 for an hour, £9 for half hour). Baby changing facilities were extremely poor. Bars not cleaned properly, activities and restaurants closing too ear ...

They sell you a Rolls Royce which turns out when you arrive to be a Skoda. Standard and cleanliness of the comfort accommodation is very poor, loose taps, window handle fell off, stains on furniture and bad smells are just a few examples. Moved from first accommodation but second one no better. This accommodation was not cheap £800. When you complain the attitude from management is if you are not happy then leave. No refund is offered. Promotes great family get togethers and they look forw ...

Our family, 2 adults, 3 children, 8, 4 and 1 stayed in Hafan Y Mor last week in July 2008. Overall, we thought the holiday was brilliant, we loved the night entertainment. There was a great choice of three venues. There were daily shows where the children can meet their favourite characters. The swimming pool was brilliant. It has little paddling pools for toddlers, huge slide for older ones. It was always really warm. Wales is a lovely country and we usually went somewhere different eac ...

After reading some of the reviews we were a little worried about what we were heading to, however we didn't need to worry, we have 3 children 7,10 and 11 and they absolutely loved it, I agree some things are a little expensive but other activity based events were great value, my kids loved the football, fencing and trampolining none of which broke the bank. We stayed half board and granted the accommodation is basic and a little dated, but we thought it was passable, but I will say I have 2 of t ...

Booked 8 nights self catering (11 - 19 July 2008) at Hafan y M 'r in a prestige caravan, for 2 adults and 2 children, the total cost of which was £380.00, booked online in January 08.We arrived at 2.15pm, as we had been given an earlier or "priority" check in time of 2.30pm, only to find an enormous queue of people and a seemingly disorganised system for getting people in. A sneaky point to note - Check in is at a bar area, maybe so that when kiddies get fedup to the back teeth of waiting ...

We were never intended to go to the evening entertainment, plus planned to spend quite some time off the park. Our main priorities were accommodation, its location, surrounding area and the pool. All were better than expected. I wouldn't use the beach at Hafan Y Mor, explore, there is some excellent ones near by with better access and parking. It can be luck of the draw where you are located despite best efforts prior to arriving, we had no idea where we were to be put, fortunately we were situat ...

You could go to Spain and have a better time for less money- or if holiday parks are what your looking for I'd suggest calling Butlins! Think of your worst ever holiday- this is worse. I have only been here three days and if it weren't so far from home I'd leave today- Although the journey would probably be more enjoyable than the holiday. This is a very very expensive place to come! Not recommended!

Arrived on Monday 30th June, book in was OK, but had to sign a form stating that we wouldn't enter the room until 4pm. The site had some good points and some bad points as I'm sure all sites do. When we entered the room it was clean (cleaner than any room we've had at Butlins), but there was not a full compliment of cooking utensils but this wasn't a problem as we had paid for half board, or so we thought... If you are considering going half board I wouldn't if I were you, unless you are a re ...

I recently stayed at Hafan y Mor holiday park with my mother and my two boys (ages 8 and 11), both with special needs. This is the second time I have been to Hafan y Mor and stayed in a lodge. The accommodation was excellent, plenty for both my boys to do and the staff were extremely helpful and kind. I would absolutely recommend this park to anybody and would very much like to go again one day.
